    So awesome to see that the Losi TEN platform is being continued. Fell in love with the hobby again when I bought my Losi Ten SCBE a couple years ago. Good design and race proven and improved over the years. Now that they have newly branded motor under the Spektrum name, wonder if it will run cooler then the dynamite ones did. The new esc is interesting too and hopefully it is still a basic rebranding of a hobby wing. Looking forward to the running videos.

      Thanks heaps Travis. Drove it today and can confirm this buggy handles like a dream. Very well balanced, good power on 2S, but really good on 3S and tyres are actually worth keeping. Definitely one of the better cars I've driven recently.

    Excellent overview as always👍👍 It sounds like somebody at Losi is listening. After years of making these goodies as option parts, they decided to put them in the kit and at a reasonable price. This kit would have been perfect at the old bash spot😢 Can't wait to see it at Altona. I know you will be putting it through it's paces.

      @@AussieRCPlayground Confused. I appreciate the videos for newbies like me. This is the first vid for the DB Pro you made and you say we NEED to use the 15T pinion with 3S battery per the manual. You made a video using the 3S battery and noted in the title it was STOCK. Stock meaning you swapped the pinion to 15T when you did the 3S video...or you left the 17T in while doing the 3S video. Thoughts, Sir?

    Between this one and the arma kraton 6s, wich one drives better? I've read the specs on both, one is 3s but has almost half the weight and both have similar top speeds...
    I like the scale appearance on the losi and also the telemetry....
    Between the two, wich one would you choose?
    Thanks for sharing 👍

    Nice pick up on the pinion gears Vas. Ive had a look at some other videos and no one else has mentioned this. Personally I think the warning is more precautionary. Having said that if I had one I wouldn't be using 17T with 3S.
    Would love to see Losi releasing the same tech with something like the 8IGHT-T E .

    So I bought the fox edition either way same everything right right so what I noticed right off the bat was the plastic wheels are thin real thin after just 2 drives messing around ans a couple fumbles and tumbles they all cracked so I do suggest buying they grey losi tenacity db pro wheels they're a little more thicker but definitely more durable ! And put a fan over your motor she runs hot even after changing the pinion gear to 3s

Nice new front and rear diff parts new aluminum pivot ball retainers instead of plastic! Also a new aluminum chassis brace. Also new threaded aluminum shocks!

    I guess it's the same receiver as in Arrma Infraction and that one is not to keen on water. I got water in my receiver box and got erratic behavior as a result. After drying out it's A-OK again.

    That chassis looks a lot like my tlr ten scte 3.0.. Which has me wondering if the spur gear cover and battery tray (can't fit 3s in the tlr) would bolt right in

    • @sillygingerkid1161
      @sillygingerkid1161 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saw that the chasis looked like my Losi Ten SCBE and had to check the website. This car is a continuation of the Losi Ten platform according to Horizon Hobby.

    those tiny holes are for putting an Allen wrench through to adjust the drop screw. this way the head of the screw hits the chassis instead of the threaded side of the screw. doesnt dig into the chassis this way.

    Can this hold the 3S 100C spectrum batteries? I feel most people would run this at 3S, not 2S. Plus if wanted to run 4S, this ESC should handle it, cause same ESC as new Kraton 4S. However I think a simple motor change would be all thats needed to get 4S. I feel certain this suspension and drivetrain could handle 4S with ease.

  • @TheTechBuyersGuru
    @TheTechBuyersGuru 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great overview! I think this car is arriving at just the right time, melding scale and basher features. How do you feel a car like this fits into the RC pantheon in terms of performance though? The dimensions are basically identical to a short course truck or a 1/8-scale buggy. Seems like a hybrid, a 1/8-scale buggy with SC tires. And man, you are right, that suspension looks plush! By the way, little oops, you didn't put up the motor size during your video edit, but being 550-class, I think you were right about the 3660 can.

      Check at 12:51 top left hand corner. 😉
      Thanks heaps for the feedback. I think cars like this a re perfect in today's market that can get saturated with the same type of card. Having this in my fleet offers a point of difference and after driving it, I can tell you that it also offers a level of performance not seen in a lot of the other RCs I own. It gives me a new appreciation for a well balanced and we'll tuned RC.

      @@AussieRCPlayground Seriously, this is the next car on my wish list (if I can justify getting another one, that is, which is why I asked the question!!!). Looking forward to your running video! And, so sorry, I missed the motor size. It actually pops up before you mention it, so once I looked up, it had blended into the white background. But yes, it's there!

  • @lacucaracha111111
    @lacucaracha111111 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Damage to the ESC and motor due to a pinion would be really disappointing. as the only thing that would happen is the system drawing more power and creating more heat.
    That would mean 1 of 2 things
    1. Cheap components not being able to handle the extra current
    2. No thermal protection

    • @paulclancy2404
      @paulclancy2404 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking kinda same but has that smart technology maybe thats sensitive to heat, but also i think id be ok running 3s wo changing pinion gear long as dont get it hot and its freezing here on east coast so for lil while be ok, also look size and amp spec is high for what it is someone will test it for us haha

    • @lacucaracha111111
      @lacucaracha111111 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulclancy2404 Then it should thermally shutoff like the VXL3s system when it gets too hot. Or most other ESCs for that matter.
      You likely only get smart features with the smart bateries they sell, as they have a data line inbetween the power plugs

    Sad that you cant make this car go any faster if you want. It was made to only go maximum of 50mph on 3s i alright for its size but limits you from doing speed runs if you want. 130apm esc should be fine on 3s the 4s arrmas run 120 amp esc or maybe im missing something in the electronics. Best to keep it stock and understand that you cant do much with the stock electronics. But for me if i get it i will be pretty happy

  • @fc3sboy1

    And the aluminum used is 6061 which is the softer aluminum that tends to bend. The TLR stuff uses 7075 aluminum which is far more ridged stronger and lighter. Also you can tell the difference between the 6061 vers 7075 as the 7075 is machined vers the stamped 6061 as the 6061 does not machine well and tends to buggar up the tooling. Anything in the rc world that is 6061 isn't worth the money in my book. It's a fraction of the cost of 7075 once all the machine process is taken into account and well just the materials in general which is why 6061is used in crappy RTR vehicles and the 7075 is used in actual kits. Piss on rtr
    And shame on all the manufacturing companies out there that keep pumping out more and more RTR garbage and less and less actual kits.
