Yes! North Beach is beautiful, but as for the town it's not my preferred place to visit and I'm from California with the big beaches and boardwalks! Nice drone footage BTW!!

Those traditional boats have Viking influence. Peniche and Nazaré are 2 examples of small fisherman’s villages that hade commercial ties with the Vikings back in the day.

Thanks so much for bringing the bike down, Mr T. Was a lot of fun and a great catch-up. As my confidence on it grows I'll start venturing further out, we should meet up somewhere in the near future!

You need to visit Dornes, and cross the river Zezere, to Vila de Rei, the country geodesic center. Nice videos there.

The presence of those metal fences and most of the beach camper vans are preparation for the Big Wave Challenge that started today, and will be happening until March 31st in Nazaré and in Jaws, Hawaii.
The first batch began in the early afternoon of this Monday. On this first day of competition, there were six qualifiers.

I lived there for a year... the campervans parked on the other side are mostly surfers... those big waves come maybe 4 times in the whole season... absolute scam in my opinion. We used to walk to the lighthouse daily when I lived there... most days there is either no waves or it is washed out!

Nazare is on the to do list. Interesting what you said on the big waves. I have been looking at surf reports trying to find a forecast for big ones but for the past month have seen nothing. Did you have any problems with people when you flew the drone? I have a DGI Mini 2 and flew in the Algarve for the first time in Portugal. A local came out and gave me the stink face for flying and need a license etc.

Print out the legislation... locals here are crazy if you try to take a video near them but hand over their NIF so the government knows when they buy a Kit Kat... and they're happy for big companies like supermarkets to film them... it's pathetic, IMO... DGI Mini 2 is under 250g so you don't need a licence... you must be able to see it...
