Your video/channel is very inspiring subhanallah, have so much respect for people who go against the tide, and I am assuming it was a tough decision to leave but you still went ahead and did it. May Allah bless you & the family!

Whilst I am not the biggest proponent of the 'American Dream'. It is because of this 'American Dream' you are able to financially have a comfortable lifestyle in more poorer countries like Pakistan, Malaysia etc. Its a rat race in every country in one form or another. Just ask the people whom live in Pakistan but outside the Islamabad bubble. You will find life is a grind for them. They would much rather go to America/UK and join the rat race and grind there, so one day they and or their progeny can too move to a poorer country and so the cycle continues. Therefore your views on the American Dream are at best ignoramus and at worst disingenmious, sorry to say. But all the best.

This comment confuses the delusion of the American Dream with the privilege of being born in the West. Middle class Pakistani families living in Pakistan have better everyday lives than their American counterparts. It has nothing to do with the American Dream. This person doesn’t know what that is. They think it’s just living in America, which is actually the Pakistani Dream.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I do acknowledge it’s a huge privilege to be born/raised in the States, and to earn in dollars. But the point of my video is that achieving the “Dream” in America isn’t the only road to happiness or success for everyone, and that dissatisfaction with life in America informed our decision to leave it all behind.
I know many people in developing countries would go to America in a heartbeat. And I do still think there is so much good in America, but there are also many, many signs of economic downturn there but the illusion of the American dream is still sold to us (immigrants) as fact.
