I'm sharing this with all of the nurses in my life. I know it's sometimes hard to part with a favorite set of scrubs, but it's nice to breathe some new life into them. Actually, some of them have been making surgical caps out of old scrubs already, too.
You probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
Thanks for watching everyone!!! Who knew colorful and funky bucket hats were so fun to wear?! I'm actually hoping to make one in a black and white checkered print once I find the fabric. I hope you try this DIY out. Let me know what you wanna see next :)
Thank you so much for doing this. A couple of my nieces actually collect bucket hats, so this would be super fun to make and add to their collection. I have a few family members that wear scrubs, and would probably happily donate some they no longer want. 💗💗💗
With those funky patterns, I imagine those scrubs was worn by pediatric nurses or something and I don't know why, seeing you wear the hats you made at the funfair makes me teary-eyed. :')
Love it! Oliver + S has a free pattern exactly the same - but for baby to 8yr size. My daughters have lots of them and i make them for everyones kids. I might enlarge the pattern to fit my head too. Super cute! Variegated thread looks great when top stitching plain fabric or contrasting thread on patterned fabric. A small ruffle, PomPom trim, lace, iron on patch, so many ways to change it up!
You two are so cute togeher. I'm thinking of making my brim wider (to better protect my eyes, skin, and hair while mowing the grass. What I love about your project is using old scrubs (I have a lot of them). Your project is machine washable and repairable. Perfect. Thank you for this video. Please stay safe.
Great! I made 2 already. Such a fun project. The first one I sewed by joining the brim and side into rings first, but your way of constructing the hat is the easiest.
Nice to see that you work with trial and error too. I always think i am waistimg too much time with this but i like it to make my own design this way. And yes more than once i used the wrong part instead of the ajusted one 😏. Love your transformations!
Oh my goodness you and your boyfriend are so cute! I will definitely be trying this pattern very soon! Your explanations are really clear and easy to understand. Thanks! Much love💛
Thank you so much for being the only person to make an easy to follow video for making bucket hats🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 tried so many before this and yours was by far the best & easiest
Cool. I want to make a sunhat, with a longer back...but without the top part...just a band around the head. Regular hats never work if you wear your hair in a bun or ponytail. And I hate wearing it open when it’s hot. It’ll probably need some elastic to stay up that way, though 🤔 Anyway, love hats 🤗
I have been watching your videos randomly throughout the years and had no idea you were local until I saw the clip of you at the Del Mar fairgrounds. I'm in Carlsbad. How cool! :)
Love the hats, I might make some for my nieces with the extra fabric I have. Also love that jean vest you wore. It reminded of one of your first transformations 🤗
Love your bucket hat! What's the best way to enlarge my hat? The brim is only 2 inches and I need to enlarge the circumference around my head by about 1/2 inch. Thank you!
Just as a tip, you should cut hats on the bias of the fabric and you shouldn't use a fusible interfacing. This will give the hat more ease and will allow it to fit better. When top stitching a brim, that should be done before attatching to the rest of the hat.
Oh my gosh this brings back memories. lol And I love curious george he's so cute. Definitely want to make one now. Even if yours was longer it looks cute on. Great job april.
Disculpe de la pieza 1:50 ¿Cúal es? la parte de abajo o del centro, y porque lo abre y en cuanto porfavor, no se ingles y me gustaría hacer el gorrito 😞😔
Love the tip about starting halfway through when sewing the brim and hat piece together. Also - LOVED getting to see all the fun pictures from the fair on your Insta-story! How much longer do you have to have your cast?
I recently got an old sewing machine from my grandma and this is a project I really wanna do. I'm quite new to sewing however and I have a hard time following this...My pattern just looks really weird and huge. Could someone help?

I hated bucket hats before I saw them on y'all
This was such a cute and simple project. Could you do one for a bike hat?
Which weight of interfacing did you use?
I made this hat too and it takes time to make it it doesnt look it but it does. What is the book you use for your p atterns drafting???
I made the pattern out of shirts and wasn’t sure which interfacing I should get.
what thickness of interfacing did you use?
You guys are too cute!
Thanks for this tutorial, it has given me hope I might just be able to pull off making a bucket hat for a friend :)
Yall are so cute together
Very nice!
a style of video you could make, while having a broken foot, is smaller handsewing projects.
These you can do easily and anytime/where
or maybe anything fashion related that doesn't evolves sewing, like jewellery perhaps
This is the cutest😭😭😭
How much seem allowance are you using on your bucket hats?
Hi April. Need your help. I made a waist jacket (like the one your wearing) for my husband (self drafted) but the back bottom of the jacket raises.
Wow! I love this
I recently got an old sewing machine from my grandma and this is a project I really wanna do. I'm quite new to sewing however and I have a hard time following this...My pattern just looks really weird and huge. Could someone help?
