I really love how you set these videos up to show how you use and style the things you pick up. It’s really helpful and inspiring.
With just me at my house, about the only time I burn candles is for advent. Even then, it feels weird burning them just for me!---I enjoy watching people picking up books, because I have a custom library, full of my own books, but many 'old' ones I inherited from my Grandparents.---I picked up a nice lap throw on Goodwill's Senior discount day this week, I'll wash & give as a BINGO prize at the nursing home across the street from my house where I used to work.---Fun seeing the kids!

I love all of your thrifting finds, especially the unique shaped brass candle snuffer. I’ve never seen one like that before. Although I don’t think the nesting hen originally came with that bottom plate, it went well together and I think you should have gotten it! ❤
Would have gotten the hen on the plate you found . Maybe add so greenery around her.
The Hen on the plate looked cute. I think like you that wasn't it's match but I liked it that way.
My Mom and I were watching, she doesn’t watch TH-cam, but she loves to thrift. Even though the hen and plate didn’t go together, she suggested placing a doily on the glass plate, then placing the hen on it. I think that would have looked cute! 🐓

Hello Julie and family, I too love decorating with all my thrift finds. After looking at your oil lamps, it gave me an idea. I live an apartment so we are not allowed to use oil lamps or candles. Anyway, my idea is to some how diy the part where the wick comes from to place a battery operated candle in it, but first place some foe flowers or branches inside the bottom with string little lights. After all born and bred in the country living in the city. Love what you have done with your bedroom, especially the headboard, and love,love the wall.❤❤ hugs to you all.
Hey Julie! I have that Hen on a nest. Found it about 3 years ago on Ebay. I'm pretty sure I paid less that $10 for it. It sits on my dining room table.
Love the candle snuffers, and the old hymnals. I have a few.
A couple of them are on a desk here in my living room, along with my Daddy's Bible. He preached at different churches as a fill in pastor through my childhood, and he loved to sing in the choir. Some of my favorite memories of my sweet Daddy.

I love going thrifting with you Julie! Always start a Saturday with a coffee and the trip with you and your family to the thrift stores :)) It started in 2020 when we were completely locked down here in the UK but people were still free to go thrifting in the UK. Thet closed all tge charity and thrift shops here then. We were only allowed to buy food , horrible times . We love the same things and it's such a pleasure to watch you finding all these treasures. Candle sniffer is on my list too! Old books - I always buy them... I have a white ceramic hen on nest which I bring out for Easter , I love her! ...Have a lovely week 🥰

Another great video. You always find the best treasures. I loved the candle snifters. Especially the smaller ones. The hen on the nest, I would have picked it up. With your great styling and design, you would find a way to stage it. When you said 1974 was your birth year, I thought to myself, I was a sophomore in high school. I would have picked up the half chicken and used it on the plate even though the plate was not meant to go with the chicken. It looked good together. I just love the way you style your items!

You had great ideas for the items you bought. The item I wouldn't have bought is the item you used as a scoop. I thought it was for gravy. That was so clever, I like it as a scoop. For that I would buy one. 😁 Its amazing all the creatives ideas we can all come up with and share. I probably wouldnt have bought the chicken without the bottom, however they way you had it on the glass plate looked very nice. Mix and match tastefully. Loved tge way you displayed yoyr books wnd bowls. Enjoy your goodies 💕

I would purchased everything you did including the clear glass hen even if it didn't have the bottom part I love it or I would of bought a separate dish even the one you thought it went together

Yes,I would have pick up the glass chicken and match it up with a plate. I love hens and roosters. I will be going Tractor Supply to pick up my T-shirt that I just ordered on line.

Hey Julie! yes I loved your family video. I'm thinking the hen belonged on the plate I would have bought both. Later if you came across a possible match then match it up and purchase. At stores it is possible that the correct match comes out later but in meantime you can display on then plate after all the oval matched pretty close! Love you guys too!

Julie I like the way you do your videos. Your Goodwills have good prices. The Goodwills where I live in Virginia are expensive. The starting price is usually $3.25 and I've even seen Dollar Tree items for $3.25. My thrifting friend and I have gotten where we don't go to Goodwill anymore. We go to the hospice and church thrift stores.

Hi Julie! There was half a butter dish that I think would make a great jewelry catcher for the bathroom. I think that hen and that dish would go great together, you could just add moss or dried stems around the bottom. Btw I thought that shirt was adorable. We're not quite at sweater weather at Georgia yet, at least not by my system. But then I always walk around barefoot. You have a great weekend and we'll see ya next time!

Hi Julie, the silver holder for $3.99 at the beginning I would of gotten. I stand up vintage books in them for Christmas. I have never seen the brass candle sniffer in that shape either. Thanks for sharing.

Love your channel Julie❤. I have been thrifting for years, don’t resell either and use what I buy. Candle snuffers and old lanterns are a passion of mine too! My husband says I have over 200 snuffers 😂 and might be as I also love cozy candles. I don’t do country or farmhouse our home is very primitive, more like Little House on the Prairie style, simple and cozy. I absolutely love how you’ve done your home too and have binge watched most all of your videos❤❤❤

The plate you tried to pair up with the “Hen on a Nest” are plates that go with a Punch Cup/Plate Set. The raised circle is to hold your punch cup in place on the plate ( the cups are also glass or crystal and matches the pattern of the plate) and the plate is to hold your cookies or cake. I have two different sets that were my Grandmother’s from the 1930-1940’s ! I never see the cups with them when you thrift. Probably they sell the cups separately because they don’t know ! LOL!!! It would have looked cute the with Hen, but I would have wanted the correct bottom.
LOVE the Candle sniffers and that scoop at the end …how perfect for canning or the sugar !
I have been buying lots of Silver at On-Line Auctions for our Granddaughter’s Bridal Shower and Wedding next summer, so I would have grabbed the big Silver Tray! LOL!!
We are at “peak season” for our gorgeous Autumn leaves in New York state. Our lawns are all bright with yellow, orange and reds !!! And cool, cool days. Today it was raining and at first I thought is was SNOW ! Love it!

@@ThrilledThrifter The 1st surgery is behind me and I have been given the okay for the next surgery. I don’t mind admitting it is making me very anxious…I do not do well with EYES… but hopefully after the next surgery I can have new lenses MAYBE before Christmas and I can see something with both eyes. It will never be perfect, but if I can go back to being independent and driving, etc. I will be so thankful. We take vision for granted until in a months times it can be gone. But very, VERY THANKFUL for what is restored !!! All the praise belongs to God!
I really like your new top. Very cute! I think it’s so sweet when Ryett always wants to find a train. I LOVE how your kitchen looks with your collection of bowls & all the old books. I have several clear glass nesting hens, most of which I think I inherited from my mother. I did quite recently get a larger one that is clear glass and it was a good price. I think I paid $7.99. I probably would have left behind the top half that you found, although it did look good on that plate.

I would've picked up the chicken. Even though you didn't find the underplate you could have used the plate you had until you found a proper plate. I do that so many times then come home and kick my self.
Julie your thrifting has encouraged me to make more trips, was there twice this week. Yes I bought 5 books myself, never previously until I have seen what you do with yours. Bought some cute garden vegetable markers for my daughter in law who has a beautiful garden every year. Bought a cute lil stepping stone for the garden for another gift. I owe it all to you 😍

I've been looking for a roaster as well.
Myself I would not have gotten the hen without the nest. I think the items you purchased were nice. Things that appeal to one person does not necessarily appeal to some one else. I always like the items you buy. I use to can when I was younger and enjoyed it so much. Very satisfying. My mom taught me how. ♥️♥️♥️

Hen on a nest- That is not the bottom for the clear glass hen.
Today is 10/11/22, and there is a clear glass one (both pieces, for sale online, and it is $12.90 ; so you were right.
Love your thriftng show you got some good fines that old hymn book was as old as me opposed telling my age lol . We been thrifting this week too you have got us inspired again . We use to do this alot when we were younger forgot how much we enjoyed it . We found some neat things too .with your inspiration you helped us get back out there since we're retired now gives us pleasure to make changes . Have a great weekend .

I have a white milk glass hen on a nest. Its's in the pantry closet. Not sure if it will ever see daylight. Florida doesn't exactly lend itself to farmhouse decor lol Actually I bought it to resell on Ebay but too many of them are already listed. It must have been a good price. I'm becoming a part time hoarder. I put a large pottery squashed pumpkin on my refrigerator and put it on stacked dishes ala Julie.
I love dishes like you do. So, of course, I'm watching what your looking at. I loved the dishes you focused on at the beginning. Totally my style!! Love your videos and you!!💖

Hi Julie! 👋🏻 Another great video…I always enjoy them! I went thrifting on Wednesday and thought of you. I found a bread machine for $12.99 at Goodwill (SoCal prices, what can you do?!) and it came home with me-after I checked it over thoroughly, as you always suggest. [My husband used his air compressor to blow out the vents. Happy to report no critters came out!) Thanks for being such an inspiration! 👋🏻😀❤️
