What is Beacon Technology?
Beacons are low-cost, wireless transmitters that use Bluetooth Low Energy technology to transmit signals to other devices nearby.
Beacon types:
- Standard Beacon. A small computer, roughly the size of a Wi-Fi router,
- Portable/small Beacon. A small handy device, typically the same size as a standard credit card or a large sticker,
- USB Beacon. A small portable device, roughly the size of a flash drive,
- Video Beacon - An interface transmitter plugged into the back of a screen to deliver personalized content,
- AI Beacon used to record, analyze, and store interactions between the screen and the user.,
- Parent Beacon - a large-size device used to track other Beacons, coordinate and store all the data. And finally
- Dedicated Beacon. The most durable type of Beacons, they are resistant to extreme environmental conditions.
We can also classify beacons by their type of Beacon protocol.

Hello! I really enjoyed your video! I work at a train service operator and we provide an app for our passengers to show their boarding pass and the boarding area. I assume that when you say that an app is necesary, you mean my app as a brand or a special app for the beacon itseft?

Why beacons data rate 1mbs?..why beacons not use highest data rate..can u tell me what is that main drawback of using highest data rate?
Because it uses BLE whose data rate is lower than standard Bluetooth. If you want to acquire higher data rates check Bluetooth, btw it will cost more power
Interesting information. I would like to use the Beacon technology for Community engagement in the South Park (Seattle) community. The objective is that common organizations can share their information from neighbors. This information is changing in time. how could the information be configured to share in a fast and effective way. could we coordinate a meeting to prepare a proposal for this service?
