Wade Leist, of Boyne City Michigan competed in the 2018 International Livestock Auctioneer Championship in Calgary, Alberta. The competition was held during the Calgary Stampede. Over 30 competitors faced off for the coveted title. Wade finished in 5th place.

Yes it is necessary. First of all the auctioneers get paid per hour how much they sell and they usually have a lot to sell. Second of all it is physchological- the fast chant like that gets people to concentrate and place bids quickly! If they spoke in normal speed, they wouldn’t make any money and you would have one heifer sold per hour!
