- As Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) treats a bleeding teenage girl, he discovers she's just given birth, sparking a frantic search for her abandoned baby.

When the details of the teen's troubled past emerge, Ethan finds himself at odds with pediatrician Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and hospital administrator Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) as they're forced to make some difficult decisions about the teen's future. Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) treats a hypochondriac with chest pains while struggling to navigate his overbearing wife. Meanwhile, med student Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) and psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) treat a patient suffering from dementia, only to discover she may not have dementia at all.

What the fu-
Ethan annoyed me so much in this episode. Like, calling a 14 year old a MURDERER?! Honestly man. Natalie was so in the right saying he had no right today what he did because he’s a man. He doesn’t know any better
Then calling her a murderer is disgusting. She’s 14. Scared. Ffs
Its teq manslaughter even if she is 14 or scared she has a responsibility for care and wellbeing.
@@constablespecky.3873a child cannot be held responsible for a baby in any other circumstance so why should she be when in the middle of a traumatic experience? Morally, she should not be held responsible.

@@schoolworkaccount3887 yea but she’s an child with her whole life ahead of her but she now is stuck with a baby it’s not fair on her her mam is in prison and her dad is long gone and is in foster care and she is still a child and don’t bother putting your beliefs on a child having a baby at a young age can affect your body and when she’s older she won’t able to have anymore children when she’s older that won’t be fair would it think about it

Not a fan of how massively inconsistent the character writing can be in this show. One moment characters like Choi are all for equal treatment, then they want to charge a minor for murder because she was pregnant and scared.
actually, it is not so inconsistant. Just shows his flaws: he is very sensitive about the newborn/baby topic, hence his behaviour here and later on when he is trying to get pregnant with his partner (trying not to spoil haha)
That’s what you call a judgemental doctor.
Dr.Choi is a hypocrite. One episode he said they needed to treat a child molester the same as other patients or whatever and give them proper care despite what they've done yet he treated this girl differently
Inconsistent character writing. It's the one thing that lets this show down.

He probably looks at her as a no good troublemaker who fools around with guys. And her plan was to murder the baby and just get up and walk away, but because she got sick because of the whole delivery of the baby she had to be taken to the ER. To that doctor he judged her like judging a piece of rag. She was lower class than he was, and that’s how he judged her.
the one rule i know about this job is that they are there to treat people not judge the. its like one minute they leave their feelings at the door the next they think its okay to judge
It’s ironic that they’re job is to treat people but they waste time and resources on babies that lack humanity 😐

From what I remember Dr Choi ends up covering for her and says that she was trying to get to the hospital so she doesn't face any charges. It's his way of making up for his mistake. Her sister comes for her but I think she says she can't take the two of them. I can't remember if the 14 year old keeps the baby. Maybe someone else can fill in that detail, thanks.
Her daughter is adopted by her sister and her husband and she runs away to get high again. Plus in a Chicago PD episode, she’s murdered and they’re unable to catch the man who did it.

I see so many people debating whether what the 14 year old girl did was attempted murder or not. While I believe it was attempted murder I can see why she did it, with a history of addiction, a criminal record and no parents (from what age we don’t know) it’s clear she spent her life alone and scared. Plus we don’t know how she came to be pregnant, if it was r@pe that baby was a constant 9 month reminder of the trauma. Instead if sending her to prison, the justice system should look for a way to help and rehabilitate her because it’s likely she’s going to start suffering from post-natal depression.

So she just delivered the baby all on her own, and put it in a bag, and walked over put it in a corner, yah makes perfect sense, .and not to mention no one saw her well she was lying on the ground delivering it, yah really realistic.
Maybe someone saw her, maybe not, people don't care. And she was obviously in a denial/delirious state, plus blood loss. That's very realistic.

Regardless, what was stopping her from getting plan b/being on birth control [AND being 100.0% trustworthy with it]/etc?
