Fwoosh Play Day! Customs, 3D Prints, Third Party, and Official Items for a 6-inch Display 03/17/22

- Just a day to take a quick look at some of the random 1/12 scale items items I've picked up, customized or been sent over the past few months to supplement my Star Wars, G.I.Joe, and Marvel displays, like fixing the frustrating SHF Mandalorian, some easy panel lining work on Marvel Legends, a mystery medallion that has taken up too much of my thoughts, a nice new dio for figures to live, new jackets, heads for my Spider-Man and Astonishing X-Men, and new additions to my Star Wars shelf.

Would you consider filming your customizing process for future play-days? I think it would've been cool to see how you did the Black Krrsantan.
Honestly, it's mostly me doing something, then fixing it, then redoing it, then starting over, then come back two weeks later and trying again.

It's these play Days that got me in custom work and I just finished up my first round of making symbiote webs for venom and we'll ya know black suit Spider-Man out of 99¢ store black garden wire

Dude, I genuinely enjoy your reviews so much. You're very real and honest about people's different levels of ability or skill or accuracy with paint work and customization. You're super humble about what you do on your own, and you just seem so genuinely excited about these figures. A lot of collectors get caught up and the storm of just buy this and buy that because you have to, but it's obvious that you genuinely enjoy doing stuff with the figures, even if it's just posing!
As well, your moment at around 4 minutes and 40 seconds was so relatable! Nothing's more exciting than seeing the pieces you worked on that came out the way you hoped, or better, sitting alongside official pieces that you also collected!

A few hours ago i was like, when will robo make a new play day and now boom a new play day
I won't lie, my favorite part of this video on top of all the various artist's work on display, was you mentioning the struggle with painting eyes. I'm not huge into customizing, I'll occasionally repaint parts of a figure or maybe sand down a part, heck I spent a solid week repainting the wonky eye on the DC Multiverse White Knight Joker before I was happy with it.
Seeing your skills at customizing is mind-blowing, so it's nice to hear that there's always room for refinement from someone at such a high skill level who's been doing it for far longer than I have.
Good job on that Bad Santa! I mean, Black Krrsantan. Nice paint job on the metal, too!
And since you're wearing the Night Monkey shirt, I thought I'd mention I'm gonna have Mr. Wonder paint the lenses on the Mezco Night Monkey sculpt, and it'll be one of the rotating heads on the Mezco BSDB body (I completely ditched the sculpt it came with, and even removed the BSDB stickers on the shirt and backpack, so I guess we can call it customizing and kitbashing).
Always enjoy your play days--a lot less chance of things not meeting your expectations, or figs breaking. Bonus for seeing you fixed your Mando's arm, too. Robo knows figure fixin'.
I think that's part of what makes me more positive during reviews, besides just wanting to have fun with the hobby. If something is wrong, I don't mind fixing it. I enjoy it most of the time. I forget that not everyone likes that aspect, which is totally cool. Different people getting different things out of this crazy collecting thing.

That Astonishing X-Men Beast is really something. I'd love an entire set of the team from that run (in that style), probably my favorite post Claremont X-Men runs.

Molotow liquid chrome does an amazing job adding a metallic pop to figures
I tried that on the Spidey, didn't seem to make much difference for what ever reason.
@@TheFwoosh weird, I've done it on both cables and deathlok and got great results. Could be the shade of gray they used for spideys arm
In fact, there is a few squares still painted with a Molotow on the back of Spidey in the video. And I agree, I've chromed a C-3PO with great results. Maybe Spidey needs a base coat of gloss black or something.

Molotow only works if you seal it with All clad lacquer, because your fingers will immediately ruin the shine, which you can't do on an action figure

Filix Rorschach is one of my favorite figures ever. Would have never even known about it. I hope they do more Watchmen.
Those custom coats look incredible. You Black Krrsantan is top notch and the line work on Strange's cloak and Spider Armour really adds to the figs.

I sometimes like customizing my figures but what i really catch myself doing is making building/scenery to connect my playsets. One thing thats fun is customizing a figure to change factions, it fits the lore.

I wish I had half your painting skills. Sculpting comes naturally to me ,cuz I've been doing it since I was a kid but I can't tell you how many times I screwed up the paint
See, opposite here. I've enjoyed painting since the late 90s, but sculpting always trips me up. Put a stop to a lot of customs over the years. I'm only really okay at fur, and even then.....Thankfully there's a lot more toys to scavenge for parts these days, I've been able to avoid sculpting for the most part.
@@TheFwoosh I started carving crayons into figures (chess pieces and animals etc.) in kindergarten in my twenties I got a welder and plasma cutter and played with metal but these days I'm mostly working in clays and epoxies and doing little things again (since my eyes don't work anymore why not right?)

As a gunpla guy... I dont know if I should tell you this... theres an easier way to panel line. They make panel line wash that you just drop in the crevices and it does it for you.
All I could think of was Atticus Doom with the decoder stuff
