Good topic. No lie, I started off with minimal knowledge. I definitely had some, but not enough to know that thicker semi freeform would be best for me. I restarted a couple times to go thicker. Mine could still be a little thicker, but I’m rocking with these to see how they turn out a couple years down the line. As always, I appreciate your content and in awe with the beauty of your locs (your natural beauty in general). We take a similar relaxed approach to beauty. It’s cool to see.
Lol I started my 2nd loc journey the same time you started yours. Starting my third today. I think I just enjoy the journey. This time I want them thick because the maintenance on my previous locs was just not me. Glad I found your channel this morning. Thanks for the info and the concise delivery. 😊
Love your locs. I’m almost 7 weeks in. Trying to decide if I should semiform and visit a loctician to make sure I’m on the right path. Then again I want to do this myself
Nicole from Fairifeld Ca checking in. Just turned on notifications to get all your uploads. Love loc chats. i have semi free form /thicker locs. my hair is short but i have about 54 to lol
Hey gorgeous! How are you long time! your Locs have really grown! Looking great! 👌🏾. I don’t like interlocking also didn’t agree with my hair. 🙆🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️
Great video. Are you still separating but not retwisting? Your locs look great. I interlock, because I have a soft texture of hair, but I only do it 4 times a year. In between, I separate. Perfect for me. As you say, the biggest thing is to know your hair. Good to see an update from you!
Thank you! Yes still only separating for now. I am thinking about doing a retwist soon. That's great you only have to do it 4x a year, low maintenance and simple🙂
Heyy, thank you for this video. I love seeing your locs. I also follow you on IG. I'm 9 months in on thick semi free forming salt and pepper dreads but my hair grows away from the loc. What would you say is the best way to handle this. I don't use gel at all. I only use oil sparingly on the scalp cause I don't want build up, but yeah., any suggestions? I was thinking of interlocking but I don't want to damage them. Thanks again.
Hey Nhyira! Thank you💜 I personally haven't dealt w hair growing away from locs but I have heard that you have to be more regular with the retwist. I'd be hesitant to interlock thick locs so maybe try incorporating a few more retwist within the year and see how that works. Good luck on your journey 💜

Thank you💜 and yes hopefully they will get thicker over time I was surprised at what mine did. I feel like semi freeforming helps keep them fuller.

Hey, sis! I agree with everything you said here. How often do you wash your hair?
Hey! Usually every 2 to 3 weeks since it's gotten longer but in the first few years it was weekly.
Wow the growth
Thank you🤗
