IT'S OFFICIALLY THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN🎄✨🏡 As we begin to pull out our holiday decor this year and plan out our decorating, I thought I'd share some of the new trends for 2024 we're going to be seeing this year! Will you be participating in this years decorating trends??
What a great video, thank you! 🎄 I’ll decorate on Thanksgiving day and I can’t wait for more of you holiday content. 🎄
My style is somewhere between Nordic and Victorian. I love greens, clear glass, brass, sparser, more natural-looking trees, clear lights, a few icy elements to catch the light. ♥
These tips feel *spot on* im 37 and not trendy, more intuitive, and I'm trying to decorate nice for christmas the first time 😂 this is really helpful
I LOVE down swept trees. They look so whimsical 😍
I would love to see how you store all of your decor. I struggle with that.
I have always loved A Traditional Christmas......Always ....It is so timeless and beautiful!!!!!!
Yes!!! 🎄❤
Me too. My tree looks very Victorian every year and I will never change that.
Yes! Im from New England and most folks here stick with traditional red or wine colors, greens, golds, and plaids, berries, and pinecones.😊 Always.
Yes!

YOU NAILED THIS VIDEO! So very helpful! New fresh and updated Christmas styles that are trending. Love the new ideas. Thanks and I can’t wait to go shopping. 🎄👍
I love traditional Christmas colors of red, green and gold. This year I’m adding touches of blue as well. Love the velvet ribbon bows.
Me too
Yes, yes, yes! I love weeping trees in nature and the garden (like weeping cedars), and a weeping Christmas tree is a perfect natural decoration at Christmastime. I’m looking for one to put outside in our entry courtyard this year. 🌲
I love the idea of grouping xmas trees because they resemble little forests. I have a couple older smaller trees I’m considering declutterring, but now I think I might keep them around to pair with my newer ones!
I love Sundays with Kristen! I loved the way you decorated your rental house last year, and I can't imagine how gorgeous your new home will be by Christmas. I love the bows from last year and really like the velvet. We don't decorate until after Nov. 30 because that's my daughter's birthday. We have two trees - one is traditional and one is midcentury modern. I can't wait to decorate!
It's so interesting to see so many of the things that are "trending" are things my family has been doing in their own holiday decorating style for literal decades! Natural elements and color palettes, letting the outside in, incorporating vintage textures - these things are classic for a reason!
Love the deeper shades of traditional colors
Me too🫶🏼
The deeper shades are actually even more traditional, especially the deep reds and greens, very Victorian.
I am loving the suede ornaments and red bows on trees!!
Yes!!😍😍
I find down sloped trees beautiful and actually more realistic as they’d be found in the forest with loads of snow weighing them downwards. I’d do them in bedrooms or bathrooms, any room besides our main ornament tree.
Thank you! I am sticking with my traditional silver, glass ornament, white ornament designed Christmas tree. I did incorporate some velvet aqua blue Holiday ribbon.
Love the brown ornaments. So elegant. I always loved brown from decor to clothing to mascara (nothing to do with decor)
Took a cue fashion trends and figured there would be bows. I bought burgundy velvet ribbon and adding it throughout as my theme.
I guess I need to get up in my attic and see what old Christmas things we still have. I might just do ornaments that are sentimental. I love that my (late) husband and I always exchanged ornaments.
Those droopy trees are beautiful!
Yes I'm loving the burgundy velvet ribbon and I hoard hobby lobby's 😍😍 I always love the classic Christmas theme. It's classy and cozy.
This was such a fun video. I left with a ton of ideas and a clear direction. Thank you!
I LOVE everything velvet so I'm on the hunt for lots of ribbon! I also love the multiple tree concept and hope it's here to stay.
Thank you for sharing, Kristen. I will definitely be sticking with traditional colours.
I already started decorating this year. I'm going for "fairy-tale winter wonderland". 🙂
I would love a video from you teaching us how to do ribbons!
This year my style is Hygge and classic nostalgic Christmas. I’m talking style of ornaments that I grew up seeing on my grandparents tree.
The down swept tress remind me of trees in the forest which I really like. Multiple trees is like a little forest look as well.
I watch trends every year n then put up my blue and white theme tree 😂
Me too😂
Same lol red white and silver lol
Well...at least you have a conversation starter, hehe. 😋
Kristen, your hair color is fabulous with the darker ends! Kudos to your colorist! ❤ Down swept Christmas trees? Never heard of them but I think they’re beautiful! ❤😊
Absolutely like to update my decor every year. I get bored with the same every year. I do not always buy but I make it work. Thanks for the tips. Traditional moody it is!
🎄🫶🏼
I don’t like red of any kind so I’ve never liked traditional decorations. But in this wonderful world we each get to decorate as we choose. 🌲
I am a traditional kind of gal but your comment is so true. There are so many other beautiful color combinations to decorate with!
Agree, I also am not so fond of red!.
Me either, also not a fan of gold for Christmas decorations. I decorate with silver and my tree is pink and silver ( so untraditional 😉)
I love a navy and forest green pairing for christmas :)
Great video.
My Christmas tree is a mix of white and gold with a hint of deep red. Every year im buying something new for a tree its a tradition in my house.
Love it!! I’m traditional but with a little neutral I think I can’t forget the reason and the colors that represent the season Jesus is the reason 😊 nice video 😊love it.
Brown with gold ornaments gives warm cozy look. It gives a homey great feelings.
Great video! I am actually trying to "downsize" some of my decorating. I want it to feel cohesive and calming. I really like the idea of the down swept trees with no ornaments. Ornaments get expensive to fill a large tree and this would be a great way to still have a tree but keep the budget in check. Thank you for the inspiration and ideas! As for when, it has been tradition for us to pull out the Christmas decor and tree after Thanksgiving dinner.
I'm going green, brass, bronze, copper and jewel tones on the green tree. The Silver tree will have all the vintage baubles from the 50/70s
Hi Kristen, I decorate 2 Christmas trees every year. My son wants Nostalgia Christmas & I decorate in the colors you mentioned. For me, my color palette is generally silver & gold. This year we're leaning towards the gold & we'll definitely be using velvet ribbon in dark green & gold.
I’m obsessed with the traditional Christmas look! I noticed it starting to become popular in stores 2 years ago and I’m so excited for a classic Christmas this year!!
I love this trend! We decorate in the traditional red, gold, silver with dark red ribbon. It’s on our mantle and the banister of the stairs. Our Christmas tree is not so exciting. It’s literally covered with sentimental ornaments, like when we got married, baby/kid ornaments, sports my kids played, places we’ve visited, etc. it’s not glamorous, but it’s fun to look at them each year. 🥰
I do love a traditional Christmas but for some reason I am adding the more deeper reds and greens. I guess after all these years, with traditional I just want a change..Great tips on all levels of decorating. TFS ❤😊
Thanks! Not that I would use it but I’m seeing a lot of pink & mint green out in the stores
Very helpful
Lovely photos
Thank you for some great ideas ❤
I grew with 1950s Christmases. My favorite reds and greens are the deeper tones. 🎄
For many years now I’ve just stuck to white/cream and gold but I’m definitely going to be adding a touch of brown to my tree this year and I love adding natural elements too like pine cones etc x
This year I am sticking with a more modern look. 2 years ago I started with just a lot of greenery with cedar, touches of black and cream and gold. Thus year I'm adding in a mustard color with the ribbon and pillows. I can't wait to see how it looks.
Traditional colors & gold and starting today decorating for Christmas but taking my time doing it!🎄❤️
Hi Kristen, I'm going to use my flock, with berries and pine cone Christmas tree I bought at Walmart about 4 years ago. I love the Ralph Loren cabin style vibe. I will also decorate with my cardinals again and use my rustic cabin style dishes I bought from Walmart about 4 years ago. Thank you for your inspirational videos. You have great taste.
That’s going to be gorgeous!!
I Always like Christmas. 🎄 ⛄ 🎅
Love the video… Can’t wait to see how you decorate your new house
Down swept trees look wonderful.
I have Christmas bear tapestries that I hang on the wall every year. The have the deep red and green colours. I've been hanging them for at least 20 years now.
Down swept trees are beautiful! We have a very traditional flocked tree eclectically decorated with many one of a kind ornaments from travels, friends and family. I really don't care for brown decorations at Christmas!
My theme this year is Pink Coquette Christmas- tons of pink and bows ❤
You read my mind...definitely going retro traditional. We need something comforting in 2024!,❤🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄🙏🏼
Thank you, really enjoyed this video! Traditional Christmas is my favorite but I think I will incorporate some of the bows especially the velvet and maybe the picture frame tree ornaments!
I LOVE all of the pastel Christmas decor I’m seeing this season! My “theme” for Christmas is pastel candy/gingerbread house/nutcracker with some grandmillenial touches.
So cute!! I’ve always wanted to do that theme it’s so sweet!
This is my theme every year. There is magic in the traditional Christmas decorations. We love it here 🎄💕
I have a toddler now so I’m using my natural wood ornaments and felt/soft ornaments for everyone’s safety. Lol….. it will still be traditional colors ❤💚🤎🎄
I’ll bring back out my beautiful glass ornaments in a couple years.
There's something to be said for a traditional Christmas! It feels so comfortable and cozy. Think I'm going for a vintage, traditional look this year! xo
I am loving the deep color pallet this year and a down swept Christmas tree is oh so whimsical and elegant!!🎄✨️
Oooh the down swept trees are fabulous! Beautiful video 🤎
Very very excited for this year as I have been collecting all year round ornaments and decors Ive found in thrift shops! Christmas in July also helped 😅
Not quite ready for Xmas but what you show is absolutely beautiful 🥰 Love the combination with jewel tones🙏
Love all of what you introduced...especially berries, velvet and downswept trees. I may go for a woodsy look with deep greens, cranberry, gold accents with nature inspired fillers (wood stems and berries)! Excited to decorate for the season about a month ahead.
I’m starting to clean/decorate next weekend. I’ve been adding velvet the last few years and I love it!
Love the video! I put up my tree on Halloween, and since my pine tree has been such a joy this year, I’ve decided on a “Pearls & Pine Cones” theme for 2024. It’s mostly creams and pearls, with brown touches from the pine cones-a blend of glam and rustic that’s coming together beautifully! I’ve been making picks and ornaments with my own pine cones 😊.
Thank you, Kristen. I love velvet ornaments and ribbons on the trees. One of my trees have a gold tone star and garland. The other one, a small one, has a brass bell. Love those down sweep trees. They look so realistic. I already decorated.
I've always done red and gold, but thinking of adding some burgundy in this year. Also, BOWS!
For 10 years, I stacked my daughter’s red drum set and decorated it. Last year she got her first home and was able to take her drum set back. I got a low round coffee table and made a tree out of all the books from my bookshelves. This year I will use a 8 foot aluminum ladder and decorate it with the vintage ornaments, my family used in the 60s when I was a child. I don’t know what I’ll do next year, but I doubt I’ll ever go back to a regular tree again.
Very cool. Last year we used the kids’ pop up tent and decorated it like a tree. It was cool because they could go inside of it.
I am a big one on Traditional Christmas’. I love the bold reds and greens and some vintage decorations. I love watching all the TH-cam Christmas hauls and decorating different ways and styles. I’ll start decorating in mid November. Can’t wait!!
Looking forward to seeing how you decorate your new home.
Beautiful ideas ❤ 👏
Happy to hear about these trends! I usually go for a crazy different theme every year, to try different ideas. But there was a year I did classic red and that's when it felt most festive. Also was the easiest to decorate with and fill my house, because I can find decor pieces way more easily in my small hometown. Last year I did pink, but this year, I'm going back to red! will try to find some red velvet ribbon as you suggested!
Love it, I’m loving the deep burgundy colours with green and gold 😍 I’m hoping to start decorating at the end of this month 🥳
Yes ❤❤❤❤❤ I just did my traditional color tablescape. I have the berries, picks and wreaths, the plaid from my mothers Scottish side I was drawn to not knowing at the time, and I find vintage gold candle sticks in storage ❤❤ I’m over the moon
My Christmas tree is traditional to the core with wooden ornaments, mini resin ornaments, some Hallmark ornaments, and small balls with a star on top. 😊
Great recommendations! Thanks
These are so elegant! I hope to find those velvet ornaments with my fairy ornaments on my tree!
I found a huge forest green velvet bow I’m going to try as a tree topper. I picked up the Walmart My Texas Home green velvet ribbon and some matte deep red berries from Hobby Lobby. I’ll use what I have to complete the look with lots of gold. My mantel is white. I’m using a horizontal black metal nativity scene with black deer stocking holders and black candle holders. I’ll fill it in somehow with picks or natural foliage. I’m ready to start!
Loved the trending ideas and the variety in using them in different colors to go with individual style choices. Think I'm going back to jewel tones this year. Thank you!
While I love traditional decor. This year I am doing black and green buffalo check and plaid! Will be decorating starting this week as I am healing from surgery!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I just bought a 2ft Christmas tree for Michael's for only 16.94 looks pretty nice I can't wait to pick it up
I LOVED this video! It was so helpful and had beautiful inspo pics. Thank you, Kristen! 🎄💖
LOVE the velvet. Challenge accepted 😅
LOVED this video with all of the Traditional Christmas ideas! It's so timeless and brings back memories of my childhood Christmas times! ♥🎄
Even though it’s early November, I am putting up my garland today. It’s cold here in Massachusetts and I feel like garland cans be a ‘winter’ decoration, not just for Christmas!
Great information Kristen. Thanks you!
Thanks for another great video! I'm especially excited for berries, gold & velvet. They are my favorite! 🥰
Also, thanks for talking in a normal talking voice. So many TH-camrs talk with strange voice intonations!
Traditional Christmas 🎄
Can’t wait to see how you decorate your new house! Can you show us how to make bows?
Thank you for giving me the colour combinations
Not too fond of the droopy tree. Love the traditional color of red, green, white, with a touch of gold.🦃⭐🌿🎄
Looooove your back decor ! 🤩
@@NathalieRGascon thank you!!😊
I decorate the week before Thanksgiving. I'm using brown, green, cream, taupe, burgundy, gold, and a tiny bit of rust.
Started decorating Nov 1st. Using traditional colors.
Very interesting and informative 🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿💯💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️
That red Lulu tree skirt is so gorgeous. I need some berries 😍
Thank you. I love the trend. I will incorporate it in my home this year
Mine will be the same as the last 10 years or so. Peacock colours : turqoise, moss green, darker green and a bit of hot pink for contrast. I have so many beautiful glass ornaments in these colours, I just can't bring myself to get rid.
The kitchen is usually more candy floss themed.
