HAPPY NEW YEAR✨I hope you all had a happy holidays and are ready for a fresh start in 2025! I love spending my Sundays with you and can't wait to share many more this year! Just a reminder... these are just trends, you don't need to follow them or incorporate any trends in your home! But if you are renovating or refreshing your space, it's always good to keep your eye on what is trending for the year to make design decisions that will give you a timeless or updated look!❤
I have the old school 70s paneling in my kitchen. I painted it Behr’s Carbon in matte black. I’m putting a copper pot rack on it. It’s going to be so cool.
That cinnamon slate paint color is absolutely gorgeous! The color drenching ideas are very classy too. And I didn’t know I like English kitchen until your description. The modern wood paneling sounds fun too. Lots of good ideas, thanks for sharing.
Crazy me...I LOVE knotty pine paneling and cabinets. We were searching for a home this past spring and wanted genuine knotty pine. Rare to find anymore and we did not find it.
I am not a "Trend" following person, especially since the trends seem to change every year. To me,that can get can be very expensive!!! I use the colors that make me happy. There have been moments when I like a part of a trend, and will sort of emulate it❤
Kristen, I am so happy to have come across your posts. While there are many out there, yours is done so professionally and with so much class. I personally love the design trends for 2025 as they feel both rich and inviting. Can't wait to make some updates and incorporate these looks into my current style. Thank you for providing outstand guidance!
I am not a trend follower but I do pick up changes that appeal to me ( I won't "chase" whatever is new, if it appeals to me, I find a way to incorporate it and it helps keep my place looking fresh. That's where your videos come in! I can't say I like the drenched look when it is done in dark colors, makes me feel claustrophobic. But I do love my home to be cozy and welcoming, loving the kitchen updates. Thanks for posting!
I like all these trends. The colors are beautiful. With those shades of red do not skip priming the wall though, gray primer will make life easier too.
You are so right in suggesting that adding touches rather than investment pieces in trending styles makes sense for all but the richy-rich. And, every time I see those dark, moody, color-drenched rooms, I remember the nightmare of trying to cover up the dark navy and turquoise trim the previous owner used in our house. It took 4 coats of primer, and cured me of ever painting anything too dark. Happy New Year to you, Christian and the cats!
unless we have quite different primer in my country, usually you need 1 coat of primer and then few coats of paint. With quality paint you usually need less coats.
I am here for the English Style Kitchen! I love them, they are so so charming! I have a more modern kitchen and I am trying to incorporate english style details to it little by little!
I absolutely love the wood paneling and cabinets!!! Also color drenching. Can’t wait to try this on my home. I will NOT be doing the skirting because my house is a MCM ranch
Happy New Year, Kristen! 🎉 I’m loving the Ben Moore color of the year - WOW! ❤ and I can’t wait to see your English kitchen come to life. Thanks for sharing your magnificent furry kitties, they really make everything cozy! ❤😊
I love the kitchen design sans skirting. That's what I want. I also love transforming a room into a cozy reading relaxing area. I've been thinking about that one for a while.
Thanks for all the new ideas for the new year! I want to paint my bedroom and if I'm brave enough, I'm going to color drench the room! I can't wait to paint now!
Loved the creative ideas shared here. It would be amazing to see how stone interiors, like textured wall panels or natural stone decor, could be incorporated for a unique and timeless aesthetic. Keep up the fantastic content.
Happy New Year! I love hearing about new trends even though I may not adopt all, some, or any of them. I'm renovating my entire condo and have spent a great deal of time choosing timeless colors, furniture and a renovation style that suits my taste, so that I'm not trying to keep up with trends. That said, it's interesting to see how some of the 'new' trends have classic elements to them! Thank you for an interesting and informative video!
I do like the wood paneling and the drenching. I’ll have to adjust to the skirting. Seems so old fashion. Thank you Kristen. Look forward to your videos!
We’re renovating and our wine cellar is Dulux Murray Red which looks a lot like Rumors. It looks gorgeous. I didn’t even know it was trending. I highly recommend the shade in a room that you want to have some romance and drama.
Kristen you made my day. I am glad to hear about the color of the year being a burgundy lol My kitchen is already bold/transitional and close to that color (Brandywine) but it is a stained maple from 9 years ago with large modern brushed nickel pulls and light dramatic granite. We invested in this kitchen with high end cabinetry so I cannot really change it yet because my husband feels it is a crime to paint them. I considered painting them white or cream because I feel it being dated but I will keep it for now so I can be on trend for once! 😂 I just added two new light pendants to refresh. If I could go back, I would have had white. Next house I suppose! For now I will enjoy my burgundy since it seems to be back again. Yay.
I luv all the new styles uou introduced today. Color drenching may be my favorite. Wavy lampshades, going to look immediately on Amazon for them. Fringe or light ruffles are very interesting. Thanks for showing the trends and your new home is beautiful.
Oh no! I just cannot do skirting. Not a fan. As you said it has to fit the style of your home. Same for those colors of the year. Have a wonderful New Year! Thanks for all your content.
Happy New Year Kristen! Thanks for this video. I think you’re spot on with the English style for you kitchen. It will be stunning in your home, can’t wait to see the colour you decide on. I’ll be redecorating my powder room this year and I’m loving the cinnamon slate colour and will definitely colour drench it.
so funny i did wavy scallop on my Chalkboard, for Valentine’s day & then i see it’s a thing lol love the color drenching & the skirting ! takes me back to the early 90’s
THANK YOU SO MUCH Kirsten for clarifying the design style I am loving at the moment and giving a name to it - I am doing a large home renovation this year - and hello from `Zimbabwe when the elephant roams 😍😍
I love a "cozy" style, but I tend to be a little tacky some time. I am hoping that by continuing to watch your channel I will have a litte of your talent rub off on me! The burgandy base colors are sooooo warm! I am considering a guest room ... but would that be restful?
Btw, speaking of the wavy furniture, seems like I was already in the 2025 trends in 2024😊 I had a wavy floor lamp made, in Nov 2024, exactly like the one that you showed in your video. Made me smile!
Nice to keep your space fresh by incorporating trends in big or small ways *if you truly love something *Not just for the sake of it. Look forward to your English kitchen Kristen!

I have learnt so much from You 🤍🙏 Thank you 🤗
Personally, I have stopped caring what the "trend" seems to be .....if I love it then it will be in my home!
@@SM-qh2mz totally agree 👍
Totally agree but at the same time here you are learning about those trends you seem to dislike
@@wendymtzc What makes you think I watched this ? 😂
@@SM-qh2mzyour comment, unless you just left the comment on something you don’t care just so the world is aware you don’t follow trends 🤔
true
Yes to the English kitchen trend. Please do yours soon before I do mine so I can learn from you. Thanks!
I have the old school 70s paneling in my kitchen. I painted it Behr’s Carbon in matte black. I’m putting a copper pot rack on it. It’s going to be so cool.
Please publish photos!
Skirting, no, no
Seems so tacky
It’s very 80’s
It goes back way further than the 80’s…. They all come and go though
I love it
It’s gonna look like that picture once and then never again 😅
Would love a video on small rooms and spaces with awkward structures to decorate such as an offset fireplace or odd shaped rooms.
Really like the new trends! I’ve seen new homes that look as if they are lodges from the Teddy Rosevelt era. Rick and wood with rich colors…. Love it!
LOVE bold color drenching ❤❤ especially in a powder room, office, or pantry. And English inspired kitchens are so beautiful and cozy.
No to skirting, love the the paint pics.
The wavy lamp shade is really cute.
Wish she had listed a source.
@@SharonCampbell-u2p There’s a similar lampshade (the one she put in her family room) at Target. I’m thinking of getting it for my living room.
@@pc-gt4st Thanks! I'll check it out.
Yes to colour drenching! Big no-no to skirting. Can't wait to see your kitchen reno!

I've always loved wood paneling. Maybe it was just comforting when I was younger but I really appreciate the warmth it brings to a room.
You would love my childhood home then because the original paneling is still there!!🤣
Crazy me...I LOVE knotty pine paneling and cabinets. We were searching for a home this past spring and wanted genuine knotty pine. Rare to find anymore and we did not find it.

Great tip that even if the color of the year isn't quite for you, it's a template to go from and find the shade that's right in your home!
Love color drenching.
I’m loving the wood panelling! I think your sunroom would look AMAZING with that white oak tone all over!
Yes to color drenching and the cottage kitchen! Look forward to following and seeing your kitchen renovation
❤ I agree with the timeless! I also agree with using your living room that’s fancy to use it. Use it use it.!❤

I do love color drenching!
I like too but once it's not trending how do u go back to stained window casings and doors??
@ good point. I don’t have that in my house, so I don’t have to make that hard decision 👍 I did color drench my bathroom and it is adorable.
Thank goodness...color is back!!! Also, adore the English style.
Yeah! My wood paneled home is baack! Love the saturated colors. No to skirting though. Big dust catchers.
Happy New Year Kristen!! I am not creative so your channel helps so much, thank you!
Happy new year!❤️🎉 Thanks for being here!!
Love the idea of painting everything the same
Happy new Year......Love when you do the videos on the trends of the year!!!!! I think the wood is beautiful!!!! Love those colors!!!!
Love the wood rebound as getting ready for tongue and groove ceilings in my living/ dining rooms. They connect and will be fantastic

It is a very traditional detail that goes with many styles. There are even tailored skirts for more modern styles available, with no ruffling.
