I don’t think that many people realize that each merit badge has at least 3+ pages of work. Some even have 15. Its not easy to earn them all... congrats man!

Very proud of this young man. Scouts BSA is one of, if not THE best youth leadership training program in the United States. While not every young person that joins Scouts BSA will ear the rank of Eagle Scout or earn all of the merit badges possible, the young people whom have ever been in Scouts BSA were all taught to he trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.....all of these things are qualities that are lacking in so many of today's youth. A program that tries their best to instill these qualities in our future leaders is a program that we should ALL get behind and support. Way to go, Ty Bingham!! I expect to see this young man's name in the news one day in the future as the leader in his chosen field.
If more Americans read the Scout Handbook our country would be in much better shape today. Volunteer for Scouts to help build American citizens like this Eagle Scout.
I mean ... He certainly has been diligent, but "going places?" Scouting accomplishments count for relatively little once you become an adult. At best, it's an extra asset on college admissions applications. That's not nothing, but the "learning a little bit about many things" way that merit badges function doesn't really equate to, say, going very far with the lifelong-lasting cognitive and reasoning skills you'd get from being a highly accomplished student. Parents should keep this in mind when considering the value of extracurricular activities like this. They probably teach primarily "quality of life" stuff like social skills, hobbies, a sense of perseverance.
