I joined the scouts in the Netherlands when I was 7, now I am nearly 18. I was very insecure at first, but scouting gave me the oppurtunity to bloom. Now I am an explorer and an assistant leader. Scouts continue to bring a smile to my face
Leonardo from Australia, During the Australian bushfires earlier this year I helped People in the Clyde Mountain fire and people who were refugees in their own community. While tending to those from Mogo I noticed so many scouts helping me pitch tents, fetch food and provide clothing to those who had lost everything. There aren't many things I regret in life, but one of them is letting my domestic life forbid me from joining such a powerful and selfless community. I want to thank everyone who helped during those rough times and everyone who helped the injured, sick, grieving, elderly and beaten members of NSW and Australia. 💝

I've been a scout since i was 6 and i always loved every part of it. Now that I'm 21, I'm starting the programs and courses to be a scout leader. I want to share this movement and everything that brings this literally brings a better world.
I literally would not be the person I am today without Scouts, my parents met thro scouts, I grew up within scouting, have been in the movement for 19 years since I joined as 7 year old Beaver. I went looked back. My best friends i met through scouting. Scouting has shaped my whole life in way i dont think i will ever fully realise. It is my honour and privilege to pass that along to the next generation as a leader.
It’s so inspirational to see how supportive you all are of girls in Scouting in the UK. Last year, Scouts BSA (Scouts in the US) became a co-ed program. I’m a girl and I joined as soon as I was able to. I understand that the UK has had co-ed scouting for a while now, so you have had a while to get used to it. But still, it’s wonderful to see this since so many people are opposed to us where I live. I am now SPL of my troop and I can confidently say that joining Scouts was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The amount of life-changing experiences I have had in the past year is incredible. I will never lose the lessons I have learned

If it wasn't for the scout movement I genuinely feel that I wouldn't be where I am today, and therefore intend to continue for as long as I physically can and help to inspire the next generation.

I joined professional scouting from January 2019 and because of my previous experience I have also done national jamboree and community based camp during my first year. It has changed the way I see the world. I wanted to go to Asia Pacific camp this year but Covid-19 hit. But we hope this state will end sooner. Dreaming to meet Bear Grylls someday

I am an assistant scout leader, just taking on the Youth commissioner role for my district, completing the gold DofE and completing the Queen scout away. Aswell as doing an apprenticeship degree. Scout is the best part of my life, it has opened so many doors, so many experiences and and the ability to meet people from around the world. To all the Scouts and leaders out there keep up your amazing work.
Being a Eagle Scout, I look back at my experiences in scouts and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I found my brothers in scouting, and I found my sense of self on scouting.
I’m a scout and I have made so many friends and it has made such a difference in my life as I have learnt new skills and gained confidence. And most of all it is fun. Being a scout also makes me feel special as every time I earn a new badge it makes me feel like I live for a reason. And it lets me know that I am learning new skills. And I test those skills to make sure that I remember and if I don’t I try and try again until I get it and when I do i feel happy. And at times I put others lives before mine when people are in need.
It's amazing to see so many positive comments. I can't think of another organization so inspirational as the scouts. They go against the spirit of these sad times for humankind. I was a scout as a kid and I can't remember anything but good experiences and I'm really thankful. My daughter wants to become a scout and Im thinking of becoming a scouter

Not very much people understands the importance of Scouting as a 3rd education system besides family and school. Here you find your own space, friendship, contact with nature, beautiful objectives to solve simple problems by your own thinking that now I understand they are useful for your entire life. I am a scout from Northern Ireland and i am in love with the community and organisation of scouts recently met with a scottish group at camp and our troops are now connected for life we are basically one troop now and they are amazing one of my first interactions with an other scout group and i absolutely love them.

Scouting made me who I am, it gave me the skills to lead and the confidence to do so. Unfortunately the way society has evolved, Scouting is up against it and has struggled to maintain the core principles which made it such an amazing force in the world. It's managed by some very 'over clever' people who need to get it back to its roots. It's adventure which appeals to kids, online training resources are no replacement for hands on and face to face leader training. There's some really good leaders, but there are some who don't have a clue what Scouting is all about too!
Being a scout is honestly such an amazing thing. It's changed my life.

I joined Scouts at 11 years old and the skills I learned were used all thru my life. I am 71 now and am still involved in Scouting.
My boy joined scouts a few months ago at the age of 8 and he loves it.Everyone is so kind and he loves when tbey go on camping trips.
