Knight Lore for CPC is the only game from my 8-bit days that I've kept. Still has the receipt inside the box. I no longer have any of my old computers, but I still play some old games via emulation, and Knight Lore is one of them. Never actually get anywhere with it, but that doesn't matter.
Knight Lore, Bruce Lee, Fruity Frank, Manic Miner, JSW, Football Manager..... all good. Fruit Machine mildly addictive. Some real horrors there, though.
Original football manager was weirdly addictive even though after a season it seemed like the player stats were randomized and a good team became bad. It was in basic anyways so you could edit it with the tape loading trick to suit your needs. Plenty of horribad ones in the mix like bridge it urgh.
