Fr whole team thinks they are really good but it’s just because I had a healing orb on my team and a damage orb on the other team
The problem that most people have is that Zen isn't really a heal-type support. He does have healing, but it's slow, and more of just a pillow to soak up a bit of damage in an engagement. Where Zen really shines is his offensive support through his discord orb and high damage output. Unfortunately people in the lower ranks have a hard time understanding that, and I usually get flamed because I put out less healing than most other people, even though I have over 20 assists and topfrag
^ this. it's just a damage diff since zen enables them but sure its his fault that you can't kill.
God it pisses me off so much, also he makes 1v1s so much easier between two players, like both tanks give an orb to our tank and a discord to the other that’s a huge advantage for our tank. But so many players don’t realize how much of a help you are, and you look at your board and you have like 40 assists
I actually went 13 -0 in one game with zen. It was fun.
1. Don’t be afraid to spam switch your heal orb around as it gets you a lot more heals
2. You didn’t use is melee to the full potential. His melee is 50% stronger with heavy knock back. As you pointed out Zenyatta can delete tanks fairly quickly. If a doom fist tried to solo you just melee. You shouldn’t be able to do enough to charge his block in time and if you get him into a corner and time your kicks he can punch or slam out of it. You’ll be able to just melee any tank to death besides Orisa to death I believe. Or so that was my experience.
The melee is the strongest defensive tool zen has and it hurt to see him get so close to enemies, especially tanks and he doesn’t push them away with a kick
@@foxysnxp they still get pushed but it’s reduced. So you can still push them around easily if you can avoid hits
You can also kick a charging rein off course. It's not the safest thing to try and I wouldnt ever attempt tomset it up, but it's really funny when you get the opportunity and pull it off, rein hits a wall and gets his back filled with bullets.

It's crazy how you can carry as Zen and your entire team still blames you, he gets such a bad rep
zen is currently my go-to hero, usually most kills most assists least deaths along with great heals and enabling opponent tanks dying. zen is terribly underrated

Imo people think zen is the worst because they don't know how to play with him as an ally. They constantly take damage requiring healing instead of hiding, not even trying to take healthpack. When we put orb on them, they don't even wait their hp to go max, they just go in fight complaining about how few the orb heals.
It reminds me old bastion, a lot of players said the caracter was op, just because they didn't know how to counter it.
People need to understand that supports can heal injuries but can't cure mediocrity.
My friend gets flamed ALL THE TIME for playing Zen and it's just funny AF to me how salty Overwatch players are... it's always the low performers that talk the most crap too LOL
I entered one of my first comp games in months (after not touching OW in years) and got immediately told to switch off.
Long story short, they invited me to their team and we played for the rest of the day, which got me upto platinum.
They were actually quite nice, it was just one person not being knowledgeable of zens carry potential, I was already used to it so it was all cool.
facing toxicity is part of the zen's kit. It actually makes you literally go zen mode and ignore lol

just a reminder, if someone tells you to switch characters or tells u that the hero you’re playing is bad and you suck, then ignore them and do whatever u want and play whoever u want.
Pretty much, but I won't dent that in a team game, if you are playing poorly and all your team needs is just a bit more healing, then switching to moira kiriko or mercy can definately help win, if that's what you care about at the end of the day.
If you care more about having fun than winning, then tell them to F off and do what you want to do, nobody can physically make you change at the end of the day so it doesn't matter, they can stay salty and realise they simply won't win every game whether they like that fact or not.

Everytime I play sombra, ppl tell me to switch but like.. who do you want me to play? I’m not playing Sym or mei against a widow. I’m playing sombra. Plus, sombra counters many of the current “meta” characters like ball, widow, sigma, and arguably tracer and rein but I feel like it’s more of a 50/50 with them.
They also like to argue abt how my other dps has 15k dmg but I only have 9k dmg
but look at the kills gotten
most of the time I’ll have 30-40 kills and my other dps would have 15-20 kills cuz they’re only shooting the tank.
this isn’t just “1 game”
This is 99% of my games. It’s always the tank players that tell me to switch even though they don’t know how to play tank, thinking that it’s just dps with extra Hp.
This is why I never play ranked. Always get flamed for playing the character I literally have the most hours on, know the most abt and is best at.
I can add more abt my experience playing sombra in s2 and s3, so on and so far. The list goes on with bullshit takes and irrelevant arguements.
@@i_albanna Sombra has been a scapegoat since she launched. I got to around 3800SR with her in OW1 and people cried about her even up there where she was pretty okay (meaning she didn’t have below a 50% winrate). People just hate her on their team and on the other team lol
If you have that mindset, you shouldn’t play competitive. It’s team based game. Some characters work in some situations and some don’t no matter how good you are. Just do what’s best for your team especially if you are on a role like tank or support.don’t be bullied into it just be happy okay with having to adapt

As a Zen player, I play him as if I was playing a DPS.
He has better kill potential than almost everyone except maybe Reaper and Bastion at close range. He also have very little damage drop off and I've sniped Widows before.
It may just be experience, but I'm a lot better at aiming with Zen's projectiles than most of the hitscan DPS in the game, and he's my preferred deathmatch hero.
Zen has developed into my main. My healing is always well mainly because I position as best as I can. I normally have 1 or 2 deaths per games. However ofc I get sloppy
It’s crazy that people still don’t understand the concept of learning a hero. You master a hero and you can carry, true. However, if you’re team isn’t in the same boat as you it makes it way harder. Thus why matchmaking is such a big issue. This is why zen is complained about, because the people complain when the zen can’t heal the damage they take when they’re trying to 1v5

Playing Zen is fun an rewarding, it's just that you gotta constantly be using your orbs on the right teammate or enemy constantly to get the most out of him since he doesn't have a cool down.
It's pretty easy to forget to swap orbs on a teammate who needs it more or who to prioritize defubbing.
As pre emptive doing stuff mostly negates having to react an having less teammates die when you are literally healing them. Xp.
An I can still get flamed on even when taking it all in account
people that say zen is shit, dont pay no mind to the bronze,sliver and gold players that think they hot shit and they wanna blame everyone but themselfs. when they know what a support is then they can get into plat + .

Zen is the one I feel I provide the most support value for my team with tbh. I have my absolute best games with him very rarely ever die more than twice (completely my own fault). I can help with discord and damage, I can heal, I can save myself and my team with transcendence.. Zen is awesome, plus kicking a ballsy discord Moira to death when she tries to roll the backline is hilariously satisfying xD
he is definitely not the worst seeing as everyone and their momma complaining about discord orb being too strong.
My best zen position is always just a few meters begind the tank. Heal orb always on tank unless someone else needs it.
Damage orb always on the enemy closest to tank, or the most dangerous one visible to me.
Other support stays further back to help with heals. And always help the other support if they get dived or flanked.
Your damage & heal orbs pretty much works as a signal on who to attack & who should attack, which makes you the team captain. It works out usually as long as you're all on the same level of skill.
The best teams are when a support makes decisions because they're usually in backline, can see the battlefield, & knows when your heals are available.
Loved your video, my only piece of advice is I'd recommend defaulting to having your harmony orb on your dps rather than on your tank.
my problem with zen is i think he’s more dps then support he’s like a dps that just soo happens to be able to heal a little bit but that makes him annoying to play with because ofc you wanna be healed nd you need that more alot of the time
2 things: always have discord on someone (tank mostly) and abuse kick, it can also go through genji deflect

I main zen and the only real complaint is the fact the burst doesn’t increase the damage or give knock back, it really is just hold down to put more in
Zen can be the most clutch player in your team in certain situations, make a losing fight a winning fight with his ultimate and damage output, I’ve helped my team win countless overtimes just by using his ult at the right time and pairing it with another dp’s ult , & picking off the remaining players with my burst

With zen you can carry the entire team in every aspect tbh, he is most fun with a Reinhart or ramatra shield tho
long range zen snipes are one of the most satisfying things in overwatch
Zen is the best support by far as long as you change your play style based on what the enemy team is running. Hold low ground against widow and play next to a dps you can pocket if they have sombra/tracer
He's the best support if you can play him, other supports require less active "hunting" to get value whereas zen gets instant value with discord, but that usually isn't enough and he needs to get kills himself to shine.
Other supports have harder time killing but don't need to to get their value, zen does need to but he just so happens to be exceptional at doing just that in the right hands.
The only lacking thing with Zenyatta is that his healing leaves a lot to be desired but considering how he's played, people should really look at him like a pseudo DPS with a decent healing skill, definitely not keeping a Tank alive from an onslaught of attacks but good enough to assist your other DPS
Zen is far from being a bad support hero.
He's always been a solid pick even with the constantly changing metas.
His harmony orb is a solid buff, and discord orb is one of the most powerful debuffs in the game for singling out a key target.

My problem using any character is not using their like physical hit like zenyatta’s leg kick
Love pocketing good zens as mercy. genuinely ive won so many games with zen players simply because i help them survive through the enemy dives because they waste way too many cooldowns on him.
If hes not getting sniped or dived by tracer/sombra hes the most powerful offensive support I usually get highest damage and assists with zen on an attack payload map
The best part about zenyatta is having a targeting cross hair
Id argue zen is a very higher tier support. Perhaps not the best, but easily among one of them. Putting discord on the enemy tank in teamfights basically lets your tank diff the enemy tank for free. People just look at his numbers and dont see the full value. I went from diamond 2 to gm 3 by just learning how to properly play zen.

I was stuck in plat forever and I started playing zen and went up to masters 3. Once I got up there everyone flames me for playing zen but he’s my best character by far
a new zen main, from one another, is fun but I think zen kit was made to be a support, not healer, since when it was 2 tanks disc orb was already strong for assists and to help out in the dps but w/ only 1 tank now, it is so fun to play but tanks hate a good zen, which has me worried that his kit will be nerfed or reworked someday, I'll be sad if that happens
my greatest high as zen is when my ana realized my team was worse so they decided to nano me instead

Zen is the worst support if your team has zero sense of self preservation and can't land a shot to save their lives. Or if ur other support isn't able to main heal while u heal a flanker and do damage. So most metal rank games unless u are charge shotting and doming everyone
Their used to their pocket heals and forget that dying doesn't happen when your supports don't heal you but when you get outplayed.

@@PewPewShootEmUp funny thing is, zen is one of the better characters to have pocketing you in a 1v1 too, because he applies a constant steady heal and debuffs the 1 guy you were fighting.
And if zen decides to attack them, if you still can't win that then I'm sorry you were never winning to begin with, a pocket mercy wasn't gonna save you
When I play tank and I get discord orbed I feel that. But when a zen is on my team and he has harmony orb on me it feels so weak. Not a traditional "healer" but I just don't want the character on my team because he feels lackluster
When I orb my tank it usually comes with a discord orb on the enemy in front of him lol. If he still loses from that fight then idk anymore, especially since my burst damage should help end it in 5 seconds
As a Zen main you do get flamed a lot for not having the same amount of healing as someone like kiriko or ana, when those supports are main healers and Zen is a mostly dps support.

I hate playing with zens as my other support bc so often they’ll leave their orb on the tank, leaving me to have to almost healbot most of the match and then they’ll be in the front line of every engagement. Everyone loves to cry abt dmg moira but says nothing abt zen for reasons no one really wants to talk about.

Funny enough season 4 a lot of the tier lists have Zen as the best support because of his discord orb.
I love zen, he's super fun and has amazing carry potential. The question is, if zen isn't the "worst support", who is? 🤔
Nah to be honest I think all supports (+ characters in general) have value its just dependent on the situation. Some maps offer more value for certain supports than others, your other support matters, plus the enemy team comp, your own skill and confidence with a character, etc. They try to make the game balanced after all for this very reason, so that every character is equally valuable and can all be played.
Rn it’s brig or Lucio, but they’re still super good and playable, the support role in general is just rlly strong rn
Moira is terrible only way to get value on her is to occasionally dive the enemy backline, everything else she does other supports do better. Character has zero utility and needs a rework. Hell she’s even average in brawl comps, where she should shine the most.

When will players understand that it’s called support and not healers?! Since the stats are visible in OW 2 everyone just picks someone out of it with the lowest damage/ heals and blames then not considering their role. Yes a sombra does less damage than a fcking bastion, but she also has a totally different role. Ofc a zen doesn’t heal as much as Ana but his debuff is so good! I’ve had so many games where my team was focused on blaming one player constantly instead of still trying to win (most games were winnable but everyone wasn’t focused on the game anymore). It’s annoying..

To anyone wanting to get high on ranked, you yourself are at fault for your game play it is dumb and toxic to blame others for your mistakes take responsibility and trust me if ya do and realize what you're doing wrong you'll see major improvements. A lesson I've learnt watching high level players. And one last one if ppl start blaming healers that there ain't enough healing keep in mind there's a reason they don't rank up
This has not changed my mind zen is still as even if this guy is good at him he is a mid to decent dps with a tidlywink of heals and thats it he just doesn't support good he needs more healing focused gameplay like if his kicks healed people or if he had multiple heal orbs and no damage orb
I dont listen to anybody flaming when i play zen. I consistently have as much if not more damage than dps and around as much healing as the other support. I make plays AND flank. People playing venture need to remember zenyattas kick as ive played 4 games where they keep thinking the burrow is gonna do anything to me. Then they waste that and get kicked off the map
in my op Bridgette is the worst support but yeah Kenyatta isn't much far off. As dps players they're so much more helpful
