Only downside of this wheel is the grips are way to thin imo. They really should have made them thicker. Especiallt with how kuch feedback comes through due to the weight snd size it feels like it wants to bounce out of your hand. But for the price cant complain to much lol..
I have added tennis overgrip to the handles so it’s slightly thicker and more grippy, really happy with the result. It all comes down to personal preference. Yeah, there’s nothing else comes close in price with similar features at the moment.
@AlexPetcu84 pretty small I'm only a 5'7 male lol. I do not have big hands yet I love thick grips. Legit love them the thicker the better. Just feels more comfortable.
@@reviewforthetube6485 I'm 6.1 Was thinking of buying this but man, I don't wanna pub tape on them to make them feel thick enough. I think maybe I should think more towards GT-Neo.
I put tape on all my wheels and it’s mostly for the tackiness to increase grip since I don’t wear gloves when driving. I wear medium size gardening and work gloves and found the handles size comfortable enough.
@casual_driver Thank you very much for your reply, I wanted to ask you how you are getting on with acelith phantom pro, have you by chance encountered creaking with high Force feedback or not? Have you encountered problems in general? Thanks again and best wishes
Haven’t experienced creaking or flex on the wheel so far. There is some rattling sound when driving over the rumble strips which I believe is from the washers in the rotary encoders.
@@Maurizio.Pernazza You will need two grips for the wheel, one grip for the left and one for the right handle. The link I sent is a 3 piece pack, so you will end up with one spare.
Overall I find it a very good upgrade over the Fanatec F1 wheel. The handles of the F1 wheel are made of plastic which flexes and creaks when under load, this is PU molded over aluminium which is a lot more sturdy, I prefer the shape and stiffness of the handles over the F1's. The screen is Simhub compatible which can be customised with various dashboards and telemetry info. I am using 10-11nm on the DD+ and it performs very well with lots of left over headroom. Let me know if there's anything else you wish to know :)
Still like it and using it all the time for GT3 driving. I am using the Fanatec podium hub so an emulator is not required. Simhub is a must to enable the features for this wheel.
It looks so real man 👏🏻
Thanks!

Out of curiosity, what's your hand size?

what did you use to wrap the handles? if possible could you provide links
I use Yonex AC102, but any non adhesive tennis overgrip will work well. I use black grip so that it retains the original look.

compared to the fanatec f1 wheel is it a good upgrade?

Niceeeee 😍
@ thanks for the detailed feedback!
What is the total weight with everything you have on?
It weighs 2.04kg with the coiled cable attached. From memory it was around 1.76kg without the cable.
@@casual_driver Damn. Both quick release and podium mount add a ton of weight to it. Wasnt it 800g only the wheel?
The wheel alone is slightly under 1kg. Yeah the podium hub with shifters do add quite a bit of weight.
Are you still liking this wheel ? After a few weeks ? Are you using an emulator for The base ? With SimHub ?

@@casual_driver shifters that came with the wheel not as good as the podium ones ? Big difference ?
The original shifters are not as snappy as the Fanatec’s, probably due to the weaker magnets.
