It sounds like a USB cable or hub problem. If you connect the wheel directly to the powered USB hub then you can try different USB ports on the PC. In my case some USB ports works and some doesn’t like it.

Also, the length of USB cable matters. Try minimising the total length of USB cable from PC to wheel if you can.

@@casual_driver I found what the problem was, but I'm unable to fix it. It either the podium hub or the wheelbase itself causing interference. if I use the screen without being attached to the wheel base it works perfectly, if I attach it, it drops connection randomly on both leds and display.

Are you connecting both the wheel base and the wheel to the same USB hub?

@@casual_driver I've spent 20+ hours trying to troubleshoot this issue, with 2 USB hubs, various cables and combinations. So sadly its not that.

Haven’t experienced creaking or flex on the wheel so far. There is some rattling sound when driving over the rumble strips which I believe is from the washers in the rotary encoders.

@@Maurizio.Pernazza You will need two grips for the wheel, one grip for the left and one for the right handle. The link I sent is a 3 piece pack, so you will end up with one spare.

Still like it and using it all the time for GT3 driving. I am using the Fanatec podium hub so an emulator is not required. Simhub is a must to enable the features for this wheel.

@@casual_driver shifters that came with the wheel not as good as the podium ones ? Big difference ?

The original shifters are not as snappy as the Fanatec’s, probably due to the weaker magnets.

It weighs 2.04kg with the coiled cable attached. From memory it was around 1.76kg without the cable.

@@casual_driver Damn. Both quick release and podium mount add a ton of weight to it. Wasnt it 800g only the wheel?

The wheel alone is slightly under 1kg. Yeah the podium hub with shifters do add quite a bit of weight.

I usually set the wheelbase to 10-11nm for both GT3 and formula class. For formula class I would use the smaller 270mm Fanatec F1 wheel which amplifies the ffb slightly.

Always good to hear feedback from others who have used different wheelbases. I have only used CSL DD and DD+, to me the DD+ feels amazing coming from CSL DD and I doubt I will be changing anytime soon. Nice to know how the DD+ stands against some of the best wheelbases in the market. Thanks for sharing!

Overall I find it a very good upgrade over the Fanatec F1 wheel. The handles of the F1 wheel are made of plastic which flexes and creaks when under load, this is PU molded over aluminium which is a lot more sturdy, I prefer the shape and stiffness of the handles over the F1's. The screen is Simhub compatible which can be customised with various dashboards and telemetry info. I am using 10-11nm on the DD+ and it performs very well with lots of left over headroom. Let me know if there's anything else you wish to know :)

I have added tennis overgrip to the handles so it’s slightly thicker and more grippy, really happy with the result. It all comes down to personal preference. Yeah, there’s nothing else comes close in price with similar features at the moment.

Out of curiosity, what's your hand size?

@AlexPetcu84 pretty small I'm only a 5'7 male lol. I do not have big hands yet I love thick grips. Legit love them the thicker the better. Just feels more comfortable.

I put tape on all my wheels and it’s mostly for the tackiness to increase grip since I don’t wear gloves when driving. I wear medium size gardening and work gloves and found the handles size comfortable enough.

I am using triple Dell G3223Q with Asus bezel free kit.
