As a prior EMT, all I can think of is something suddenly happen with a patient who appeared stable that the hospital prematurely rushes out against medical judgment with the driver in a serious life threatening situation with no training or support ...but plenty of liability with Uber the tech company bullshit when they are actually an unlicensed Gypsy Cab Company. Uber will not hesitate to throw that driver under the bus with that independent contractor label as you desperately try calling the hospital or company getting no answer. All you would have left is calling 911 for real trained medical personnel or perhaps rushing back to the hospital ER if you have not gotten far and hoping for the best no matter how pissed the staff has gotten. The only way to win is not to play. Even when a patient appears relatively stable, hospitals pay ambulances to responsibly transport with a medical director doctor on stand by when doing things the right way....for what could happen. That's why the big bucks are paid. Uber wants those big bucks but with none of the competence, training, preparation, and responsibility.

I always decline shared rides
3 hours of work from Lyft this morning 7am to 10am. $35.80 / 3 = 11.93 per hour. Lyft tells me I need to do better with my area I am in. I stay in Las Vegas, this shit is crazy. Even the people I pick up now, tell me most drivers don't even speak English. We should be able to charge per seat as well, if Lyft is going to charge per seat in this bus crap.
They underpaying you to control you so you can drive 12 hours.
I say take the share ride just cancel the added riders.
Or keep driving to the original destination. The second rider will cancel.

I had a comfort request 2 mile pickup at a rehab center. I get there and nurse is helping a old lady with walker to my car. I take the walker put it in the trunk. The nurse tells me she has 2 stop has to get go to Walgreens to get her prescription. I told her i could only wait 5 minutes and no way she be able to even get into the store in 5 minutes . The nurse tells me it was all set up with Uber. I told her listen i will do her the favorite and run in and get it. I get in the car and come to find out the lady is mute and can't hear she is writing on a paper wanting me to take her to Taco bell. I trying to tell her i can't. I go in and the store is giving me a hard time wanting to talk to the lady. They didn't want to hear the lady is 100 and can't speak. Wind up taking her back to the facilities. Never again.Would I pick up at that location
Been there done that but actually the person was not deaf, but I have had somebody tell me that I need to go to Walgreens and pick up my medication. Well, we all know how long it takes to pick medication up in these places I got lucky and my customer said they would stay in there and wait and re-order the ride, go-go grandpa whatever is needs to figure this out. And as we all know, they know what’s up, but they don’t give a damn and you’re gonna get the same pay.

I Refuse to allow passengers to put a tip on the app so I got a little 'square' for my phone. I will take tips directly bypassing Uber. If we can get enough drivers doing this, we will find out quickly if Uber is taking our tips. Ubers next earnings will drop massively.
uber and lyft both steal tips, ive had riders say "im going to tip you $5 in the app", they SHOW it to me, then it does not show up

it does show up, but uber/lyft REDUCE the fare by the tip amount to steal the tip! then they claim "look you got a $5 tip!"

Uber and Lyft are taking your tips insidiously using AI and their secret algorithm. Basically when a rider gives a tip, Uber reduces your pay on next trips. The goal is to keep you at a predetermined hourly pay range. The only way you can keep tips is if they were paid on a separate account outside Uber’s control like taxi drivers.

Uber shuttle? Come on guys do the math before getting afraid of the competition. To reach this shuttle in LA you would probably still have to use Uber X and if the shuttle is traveling and picking up those is West LA that means this will become a 3-4 hr ride to LAX?

Primetime and super shuttle. Remember UberX actually wiped them out. . It was $32 for a ride minimum. I actually was at the meeting at the Long Beach airport where we were invited to come in to discuss airport policy and everything else that goes in with people picking up people.the super shuttle owner came in and was complaining out loud how Uber was destroying their business. So now I don’t know if many of you know this those vehicles are expensive how many people are going to go out on the limb.
Uber's track record strongly suggests that no one should take the risk of purchasing major vehicles just for Uber when they can just as quickly deactivate you or even the entire program.
Pretty soon they gonna have Uber escort too. What's next. 😂

uber has lost the plot man. they have completely forgot why they even existed.
also, uber has been working with costco for at least a year i think. last year i got a lot of costco orders, even the start of this year too. but its been getting worse steadily. too many items, not enough money. items that have weights like meat items or prepared foods are the worst. a customer would put in a certain weight and if the thing is much heavier than the amount the customer put in, then you have to get rid of that item. that sucks, because you can tell which item was the money maker on specific orders. sometimes, it also looks like there is a default value of 1 lb. and the customer ends up choosing that for some item. 1lb pack of ribeyes. really?

I’m not worried about the Uber airport shuttle as you said it won’t affect my small market besides in my permit process I’m also getting my airport permit I’m starting my private journey with a small Mercedes suv and moving up once I get a client list up
How will the shuttle service work, they gonna make it like an XL bus service to get more entitled riders to where they need to go without waiting for an actual bus? Now Uber wants to be a bus/call-a-ride service LOL. Drivers should not even bother buying a bus and be upside down in debt and working for peanuts. Costco on Uber LOL, look at how bad Wal-Mart orders are on there and you pick up the stuff and deliver it to the customer and they don't tip or appreciate that you helped get and deliver items. I did a few Wal-Mart orders on Uber just for fun and not one customer tipped! Never again! Costco gonna be worse with a lot more items!

One of them have a plan called grandma or grandpa plan. Where they pay 35 a month and company X orders them an Uber, when they need one. Excuses me, I dont care who facilitated the requests...if its not paying right, im cancelling. Dont be slick by once you order then. Then change destination i agreed to the first price not the second price. Dont get in my car either then adding another trip, talking going through drive through to get some food. Uber paying. 11 to 25 a minute no thanks. Better order uber eats.
