I had never heard of this castle, but Portugal is the place in the world with the most medieval castles per square meter. There were many enemies always annoying us, those people didn't even have time to practice any sport other than war!
So very true. Hard for us to imagine a life of always fighting and trying not to get killed or conquered, but that was the brutal reality back then...🙄

Its a pitty no one cares about the many millions of Europeans who were enslaved by Arabs, Jews, pirates and Berberes enslavers from the Magreb. Especially in the Slavics regions who even included East Germany. It was great security to have such a solid wall as protection!
Yes, there are Robins in Portugal. I've seen them. My dad's also seen one in their garden..I didn't think there were any either until I saw one myself. 😅
