That was hilarious. He doesn't need an exercise routine, he carries 20lbs of weight everywhere he goes. If I ever find myself in a foxhole, Mas is the guy I want to be with.
Most of my wardrobe, both on and off duty, is 5.11. Comfortable, well fitting, durable, practical, cut for wearing holsters, built in mag carriers, I could go on.
5.11 Tactical Nut Crushers. I bought two different pair hoping to find a comfortable model. They were okay standing straight up but squating or crouching brought instant pain. My brother had just retired from the Army and working at a large LGS. He highly recommended Blackhawk Lightweights. That was great advice and I was in love and stocked up. Luckily I did because they're not in production. They were a little spendy depanding on the source but not much more than Nut Crushers. Oh and they are the best pants in summer heat. I think the real problem is 5.11 are not cut for muscular thighs. So when I squat or crouch the thighs pull up and tighten any loose fabric. Any rate no more money to 5.11.
I’m 70 and just started wearing cargo pants a year ago. Where have they been all my life?!! And let’s not forget about cargo shorts for the hot summers. While I don’t carry as much gear as you Massad, I do appreciate the capability to do so especially pocket carrying a snub nose revolver. A couple of months ago I ran across some cargo pants that are fleece lined, wonderful to wear in the colder months!👍👍
I have been Prepping for many years and have worn cargo pants and cargo shorts for many years. When I am wearing sweat pants, I am not. I also enjoy shirts, vest and jackets with many pockets. Keep Prepping.
The best fitting, cool in summer, stain resistant are Blackhawk. I've got multiple brands of cargo pants but Blackhawk Lightweight are the best. Learned the hard way that 5.11 pants don't work unless I stand straigh and don't flex like crouch or squat which then crushes the jewels.
As a former auto tech soon to be lineman, it makes carrying around things like a small screwdriver, flashlight, anything I might possibly need consistently way easier then trying to stuff it into regular jeans. My second favorite type of pants after cargos are carpenters pants. I wish cargos had the little hammer loop that carpenter pants had.
Your wallet comment reminded me. When i started having hip issues the orthopedist, after figuring out my right side was slightly compressed, told me absolutely nothing in back pockets, especially while driving.
I've been wearing cargo pants for years. They are so very useful for carrying the things that I use constantly. They are very comfortable as well. I don't get certain parts of my anatomy pinched as well.
I have 3 pairs of 5.11 Taclite Pro Pants and plan on buying more. Outstanding product! They're also moisture repellent which wasn't mentioned. Very well constructed, they should last for years. I'm an old guy too, 60, so I don't give a crap about being stylish with skinny jeans, I want to be able to carry stuff I need, and be comfortable doing it. Damn good pants!
I once went to a corporate event wearing cargo pants, just because of the practicality of carrying all my stuff in pockets instead of in a man purse or back pack. Well, wouldnt you think, the under cover rookie security lady gave me the look as if she thought I was a potential "active shooter" (Those guys have been known to be kitted out with cargo pants). Sometime the look on someones face says a thousand words. So, just to make her at ease, I said hello and introduced myself. She about dropped her jaw to the floor because she knew I knew that she had been mistaken.

I was at the supermarket the other day when I saw an old dude wearing the "shoot me first" vest with some 5.11 cargo pants and a Magellan shirt. I immediately went up to him and complimented his style, we got to talking about some of Mas's books. The only thing dangerous about this style is that it is dangerously based.
I have been wearing cargo pants and shorts since I was a little kid, so over 40 years at this point! 5.11’s are my go to pants because they last longer than any other brand that I have tried.
511s also look the best. However $80 for a single pair of pants makes my wife mad ( she dosent get it). So......birthday presents and Christmas requests.
I love my cargo pants and cargo shorts. That’s all I wear. Perfect for carrying everything on you that a guy needs. The brand I currently like are the Duluth trading Company Flex Fire Hose work pants. Thanks Paul Harrell for the recommendation!
Ditto. Paul said they were good and I had a pair before the video ended. Those firehose flex are the most comfortable pants/shorts I've ever worn. I just took a fencing lesson in the pants. Zero restriction. They are the best, just like Paul.
I have been a fan of the Wrangler Ranger cargo pants for years. They are set up pretty nice and are quite rugged for 32 bucks at Wally world. I see the 5.11 are little more than twice as much, but they seem to have even more functionality, plus they look more comfortable. Probably worth a try.
Just a note to add to remind people that the 5.11 pants roots are rock climbing. The pants were originally invented and made by a man called Royal Robbins for rock climbing. I bought my first pair at REI in Seattle. 5.11 refers to the hardest climb in rock climbing. Their first tactical use was when the FBI stood up their hostage rescue team when they found their great utility for use. I still have a pair of the originals.
I work in physical therapy. The cut and drape of these pants is great for flexibility and bending to position or transfer patients. Wear them all the time.
Came across Tru-Spec pants years ago. I now have multiple pants from them, in multiple types/models. Love them. Lots of great options built into them and great quality, in my experience. I will check out 5.11 though. Thanks for all the great info. Love the “cargo dump”!! Don’t mess with Mas; he’s ready for anything!!
Mas, Great video! I love wearing cargo pants/BDUs for multiple EDC+ reasons. Your comment about redundancies and wallets on a side pocket or pain in the butt... works for us in other crowds, too!✌🏽
Your comment about 2 handkerchiefs made me smile. I've always carried 2 handkerchiefs, 1 for me and 1 for whenever a clean one might be needed. And I've worn cargo pants for about the past 40 years because I hate having to carry "stuff" in my hands. I will have to try a pair of 5.11 if only because of the wallet pocket.
Great video. Love Masaads videos as well as Kens. I found some great cargo / tactile pants for summer believe it or not at Walmart. They are made of stretchy nylon and have two side pockets and they are cool in the summer and dry quickly if wet. I also have a few pair of BDU pants for winter and summer in rip stop. Hip holster for pistol on string side and another for cross draw which I've come to love, but must dress around both. I use the cross draw while in a car because it's easier to get to and stable. I think I'm going to get either a Walther 380 for ankle holster or a Glock 43 .. I am putting together a safety kit to carry in my fanny pack which is small and leather which will carry a tourniquet and bleeding gauze as well as stop bleeding powder, etc. Just in case. Extra magazines on hip for Glock 19 or whatever you like. along with strong side holster or cross draw.. Can't beat it.. I live in rural Indiana where we don't need a permission slip to protect ourselves. Same town as the guy that shot the greenwood criminal who murdered some people and would have killed more of not for our hometown hero.. God bless guys. Be safe and well. You add value to my life and thank you for that. ❤
I buy mine from Walmart too. Always one size to big in the waist. 👍 Not a fan of the stretchy one. Crossdraw is great if you're in for a long drive as well.
When asked to design cargo pants next time, could we please make a pair that doesn't snare on every drawer handle in the kitchen... Mas, Glad to see you keeping your runway videos family friendly and avoiding the high-end breakaway pants. 😱🤣
I have at least 8 pair of those in my closet, along with 4 different vests. Summer in Florida is brutal, so I have an equal number of 5.11 shorts in a drawer. Truth is, apart from jeans, I rarely wear any other kind of trousers.
I use cargo pants pretty much every day unless I am getting into a tie level outfit. I looked at 5.11 but didn't care for the price. I used to be able to get cargo pants at wally world (walmart) but they were sold out almost all the time. I found Union Bay and tried them,. They are relaxed fit and moderately light weight material. The pockets are generous and I pocket carry a Hellcat with an optic. I tried a G19 but it was too large for the front open pocket./ They have sales regularly and you can gt them for under $30 on sale. I get outstanding wear from them and haven't been "made" yet wearing them and I wear them year round including when riding a motorcycle.
Definitely jealous of you guys in cool country. I live in Southern Arizona and wear shorts and tank tops 9-months out of the year and sweatpants and maybe a hoodie 3-months out of the year. Tough to overdress when it is 112-degrees outside. I have settled on open carry (shoulder holster) around the house and around our small town where everyone carries and using the VANSH holster when carrying concealed.
Could not believe how much you pulled out of your pockets! You could not tell you were carrying much of anything in your pockets either. I ordered two pair of them and they had 20 percent off for Presidents Day. Thank you for telling us about them. I love cargo pants Bruce in Ohio
Bought a pair of 5.11s on your recommendation and wore them everyday on vacation in New Orleans. Fantastic- carried pretty much everything, look good and very comfortable. The rear pocket seems almost pickpocket proof. Thanks.
I was just thinking of getting a good pair of cargo pants early today, so this video is right on time. They're very common here in Colorado, so they blend in without a second look. Thank you, Mas! Keep putting out this great stuff... ALL of it is helpful, Sir!
I love cargo pants, but can't see wearing them 'out' in place of my levis, they're not at all common around here but should be. I wear them riding my dirt bike and just in general around at home, I had to eventually go with duct tape patches until the material just plain rotted and fell off. (searching now on amazon 😄 )
@@bikersoncall It's not quite universal, but about half of us Colorado people wear cargo shorts or cargo pants. Our standard "winter attire" is cargo shorts and a fleece sweater, unless it's below 30° LOL. I gotta buy new cargo pants, and Mas talked me into it. 😊

@@bikersoncall Well, TBH, I'm kind of a wuss about cold and extreme heat (and we get both here). I have been known to wear cargo shorts when it's like 40°, but when it gets below zero, I usually just hide in here by the wood burner LOL. Really though, I think the damned heat is worse. In the middle of summer, the sun will cook your eyes and brains out, even with a hat and sunglasses. We're at 6,600 feet above sea level (outside the Denver metro) and there just isn't as much atmosphere up here to block out the ultraviolet. But, one thing I take advantage of... on cold and snowy days, I head for my local range for some target practice, because a lot of people won't come out in the snow. They're probably the transplants we have coming in from CA. LOL
1. Thanks for another great video. 2. The only "weakness" in the 5.11 pants is that (unless I'm mistaken) the lower part of the leg does not unzip to convert them into shorts. 3. With all you carry, I hope you never fall into a river, lake or ocean. 4. I need you to do one more "fashion video" -- where and how to carry while riding a mountain bike in the mountains or desert. I want access to my Glock 26, but don't want to land on it when -- not if --- I crash.
Another great video from a man who is a treasure to the gun industry. Very y funny joke about the escargot pants! Since now retired i wear cargo pants and cargo shorts. Always capable to carry a gun and the other essentials very easily. I was awaiting the sandwich and backup sandwich. Best wishes, my friend.
I wear 5.11 cargo shorts, both out and about and to work. Does everything I need. I almost never wear my jeans anymore because of the lack of edc pockets
My favorite tactical/cargo pants for everyday wear are Arc'teryx LEAF Functional Pants. Tons of super deep pockets, but still very low visibility. They don't look tactical at all and were specifically designed for operators doing undercover work. Kind of hard to get due to Arc'teryx only wanting to sell LEAF stuff to military/LEO, but you can still find them.
I like cargo pants. The extra pockets are great for stashing everything you don't want stuffed into you fromt pockets. The looser fit means not having to worry about straining seams like you do with jeans. I live in a rural farming community and the canvas handle the brush in the area. I started wearing them 40+ years ago as a Paramedic, and found them so comfortable and utilitarian, I never stopped wearing them.
Slash front pockets lose all your stuff and send you home with a bunch of pine needles and juniper berries . They should have a flap with a large button closure that you can open with gloves , not noisy velcro . Thigh pockets ( magazine pockets ) need to be up higher so you actually run . Gusset croch so you can actually climb a fence . Flap pockets on the rear also with a large button closure . I actually liked my Vietnam button fly closure BDU pants . ( no worry about catching Little Willy ) .
Carhartt B11 pants. Unreal durability. At least 3-4x the durability of good jeans. Not as many pockets as Mas’ 511’s. But I can carry any firearm and also slip a 17 round spare mag. The loops are perfect for Hanks Belts heaviest thickest belts. Front pants pockets hide a jframe easy. I love Carhartt B11. Been wearing them for 15 years.
I call my clothing "Sagolim" or (dress purples). I also wear utility holsters for calculators, cell phones, and a stopwatch among other things. I modified MOLLE web belt loops from condura made for a utility tool onto Rip Off brand tool holders . I have infact uploaded simlple intructions on how I created these things with JB Weld adhesive. Video titled "Molle gear for holsters for cell phones calculators and tools"
I love this video! Watched it twice. Talk about 13 kids in a VW Beetle! A seemingly never-ending pile of very important stuff, if I do say so myself. Thanks! (Yes, I own more than 1 pair of cargo pants. But I may need a couple new pairs.)
OMG, your nomenclature sounded like you were reading the thoughts in my head. I can literally vouch for everything you said, and that's why I wear them. My sciatica is a lot better, actually remediated, thanks to these very pants, the mags fit great, and the first thing I noticed, the belt loops accommodating any holster like no other pants do.
Mas' pant with Paul Harrel's jacket gives you superpowers I have been told.

LOL
Thanks Mas! A few ideas I hadn't thought of already.
Wrangler's Riggs Ranger pants are a great choice also. They even have them with flannel lining for winter time.
Best way to end a video like this is with a dad joke. Thanks, Mas!
Massad…Always articulate, thorough, & amusing. 👊🏽
Love my 5.11 cargo pants…Sans 🐌🐌🐌! 😅
Which pocket do you store your tactical wig in ?
Always have worn them. The army surplus stores have the best ones.
$375 for pants??? 😳 OUCH!
@@garytucholl7699those are the assault pants. The functional pants are $130-$230 depending on the model.

theyre $129-$229 depending on the model. the $375 ones are their combat pants (similar to crye g3s)@@garytucholl7699
I like the ankle rig ideas especially medic kit .
This is the most legendary pocket dump ive ever seen
Mas is the GOAT.
All great advice the Carhartt cargo pants work pretty good for me
Slash front pockets lose all your stuff and send you home with a bunch of pine needles and juniper berries .
Thank you for the guided tour of your trouser gear!!! I am impressed and will try to find these pants in my size.
I’ve been wearing Truspec ascent for years. Love them. Useful and comfortable. A bit thin for cold weather, but…
I have been wearing cargo pants and cargo shorts for years. They are so much more practical and convenient.
Great timing with the pun/ Dad joke.
Massad Ayoob Thanks for the Great Video. Be Safe Out There!
Ive got a couple pair of pants that are of the carpenter style. They get most of what i need in them.
Another great video Mas! Thanks and keep 'em comin'!
Mas is an absolute LEGEND for sneaking that dad joke in there. It's almost midnight, and I woke my girlfriend up with my laughter XD
Excellent video Mass. I am going to cargo pants right now. You put everything into focus.
Thanks M. I love my cargos.😊
I love this video! Watched it twice. Talk about 13 kids in a VW Beetle! A seemingly never-ending pile of very important stuff, if I do say so myself. Thanks! (Yes, I own more than 1 pair of cargo pants. But I may need a couple new pairs.)
Only people that don't wear them needed to watch that 😂 I've been wearing them for at least 40yrs.
