Thank you DOB! I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed this. It sure was a fun project for me. I worried ahead of time about hitting those super high C# notes in the falsetto part of the vocal, the "Wha, wha, wha, wha, why" part, so I'm glad that worked out mostly. This is a great old song. I hope you are doing well. Take care, - Glenn
Thank you Brendan! It's wonderful to hear from you! Thank you for listening and for your kind words here. My family and I are all doing well; I hope you are, too. You take care! - Glenn
Thanks 👍 Thank you Don! I'm glad you thought this came out well. Thanks for listening and for taking time to comment. Much appreciated, as always! I hope all is well for you! - Glenn
Just found you with this song. You smashed it man. I was born the year this song was released. I am going to eventually check out all your videos. Thanks for your service to music.
Thanks for listening David! And thanks for being interested in my TH-cam channel. I'm glad you thought I did okay with this cover. It's such a fun song. I hope all is well for you. - Glenn
Thank you John! How nice to hear from you! Thank you for your kind words; I'm glad you thought I did well with this cover. It was a lot of fun for me. I hope all is well for you. - Glenn
Awesome. Wow. I'm amazed. You can still reach your falsetto at your age. That is so cool. Bobby McFerrin is in his 70s, and he still got a pretty good falsetto. That is incredible. Anyhow, I audition for a virtual acquire yesterday, and I passed. I consider you a friend Glenn. Next Thursday is going to be really tough, but I'll manage. It'll be 23 years since my dad's passing. My dad's name was also Glenn.
Hi Amanda, I had forgotten that your dad's name was Glenn. 23 years... Wow. I'm so sorry he's not around for you but he's is probably around your shoulders along with Gordon Lightfoot, acting as your guardian angel. Be well Amanda and thank you for listening. - Glenn
@@glennwillow5124 yes. My dad is on one shoulder, and Gordon is on the other. Even in spirit, Mr. Lightfoot is still insistent on me using my cane to get around in public. There are times when I don't use it, especially at work. At work, it's so crowded, that I don't want to use my cane, for fear and my trip someone. And other places, though, I do use it. anyhow, my dad's name was Glenn. I miss him so much. 23 years, and it never gets easier.
@@glennwillow5124 that's for sure. It never gets easy. It gets easier to handle, but it never goes away completely. My dad passed away when I was 15. I have an appointment with an ear nose and throat specialist in November. There's something going on with my throat, and it is affecting my voice. i've got postnasal drip really bad. I hate that.
You played an excellent cover Glenn .. ♬‧*˚✧♬. I liked this song too. Short songs were popular back then. You can always play a two-minute song twice if you really like it. :)
Thank you Julane! How nice of you to take time to comment once again! Thank you! I'm glad you remember this song. I was worried that many people wouldn't know this song. Glad you did! The song is so short, there is a tendency to want to listen to it again! Very good point! I hope all is well for you! - Glenn
Glenn, that is a very very nice cover of a cool song. In an odd coincidence, it happens to be the same song that I've been working on the past couple weeks. I've been playing it in E but I see that you are playing it down a full step from that.
Thanks Robert for watching and taking time to comment. The original song was recorded in Bb and I am down 1/2 tone from that, in A (or Am, actually). This is where Del Shannon played this song in his later years, which is also where I am now. I hope all is well for you these days, Robert. Be well! - Glenn
I was going to ask you what model of 12 string guild you are playing there, then I found it. You have the best instruments. That guitar goes for 5 grand!
Hi David, thanks for your comments and for listening! I do have some very nice instruments, and I'm very grateful. In many cases I have picked them up used to save a little money. The Guild F-512 12-string that I am using in this video was purchased used at about half the price of new, so I was very lucky. I hope all is well for you. - Glenn
Wonderful, Glenn! Fantastic job reaching those high notes. Love it!
Thank you Sandi! It's great to hear from you. Thanks for taking time to listen and offer support here. I hope all is well for you these days. - Glenn
