    My sister & I inhered a large quilt top made with 5in sq. of all different Christmas Fabric that our Mother made & we have wanted to do something speical with it for a while. Making Tree Skirts will make four perfect keepsakes...

    Just finished making this tree skirt in a Fence Rail Diamond pattern which I also learned from Jenny. It was my first machine-quilted project. I love it; can't wait for Christmas so I can put the tree up and see how it looks with the new skirt! Thanks, Jenny. Next up: a jelly roll quilt project for my granddaughter. So much fun to be quilting now that Jenny had made it look so easy and fabric collections are helping with colorways!!

    Jenny is so CUTE in that hat! The bias binding looks like it would be the most intimidating part, especially the curve.

    The Quilt on the wall appears to be a nine patch, alternating with a fussy cut of a snowflake, all set on point. I love it.

    I just finished this adorable little tree skirt. My tree is petite so I made my skirt 7X7 and with the cool border, it s perfect! Bias binding is a must. I Used non pill fleece for backing, eliminating the need for batting. Thanks, Jenny AGAIN!

    • @craighuffman7161
      @craighuffman7161 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Nana, I am new to quilting and sewing. Will the fleece say it is non-pill? Is fleece easy to work with? In your opinion, would flannel backing work? Thanks for any input---Julie

    • @nanad5362
      @nanad5362 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Craig Huffman Yes yes, fleece is easy peasy to work with and far easier than minkee. Non pill is a wee bit more expensive and is labeled non pill or polar. You won t be washing the tree skirt like you d wash a blanket or garment so I guess it really does t matter which you use.

    • @nanad5362
      @nanad5362 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Craig Huffman. Oops, I just saw the second part of your comment. I d prefer the fleece as it has more weight and " body". Flannel might feel flimsy unless you also use batt. Fleece eliminates the need for batting. Enjoy sewing your tree skirt!!! I bet it will be darling.

    • @craighuffman7161
      @craighuffman7161 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, very much for the quick and useful reply. I'm adding this project to my list!

    • @nanad5362
      @nanad5362 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Craig Huffman My pleasure. The next time I make this skirt, instead of cutting a circle space for the tree trunk, Im going to leave a square open. That may make sewing the binding easier. Just a thought...

    Jenny, I am new to learning to quilt! I just finished my first two quilts: one was a daybed size 'big block quilt' and the other was a king size design that I took a class to make. I also just finished a baby gift quilt using flannel on the inside and a cute ABC panel on the front and then quilted it free motion on my machine (a Baby Lock Unity that I just got this year!). Watching your videos has taught me so much and inspired me so much to do so much more! I have ordered several times from your company now and absolutely love the quality of the materials I have received, as well as the prompt shipping. I just ordered six of the Christmas Charm Squares that were on sale a couple weeks back and didn't know what to do with them!! I just loved the material! Then my brother asked me to make him a Christmas Tree skirt and I didn't know what to do, so did a search on TH-cam for a skirt and found yours! Thanks you so much not only for your excellent and fun teaching tutorials, but helping me know what to do with those Christmas charm packs! :-)

    If you want to do a double boarder I planned on 2" for the inside solid and 3" for the outside. for the outside do you start on the same sides you started the insides? Or should I have sewn the two pieces of the border together first? Love this project still have lots of fabric left over can't wait to finish. I'm hooked on quilting now!

    Probably will be a bit long winded apologizes in advance. Last year I saw a great idea of using plaid men's shirts and styro ball to make ornaments for a Christmas tree. Made those. While getting out this years decorations I found the bag of shirts and tried to figure out what to do so I googled How to make a quilted Christmas tree shirt and found this viddy. So I cut by hand all the shirts into 5x5 and made this quilt.(first quilt ever!) Now I am on the boarders. I will continue above.
