5:43 those transitions from chest voice to head voice are really impressive, wow! As a singer myself, I can say from experience that those transitions are a lot more difficult than they seem.
Both are really good singers, but I prefer Avril Lavigne for numerous reasons. She sings with her heart and soul. I can really feel what she says through every note she sings, and that really captures my attention. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pop or a rock song. Technically, Avril uses more her mid and high registers and has a unique style of singing, which I find more interesting than just showing off what you can do with your voice. Of course this is only my appreciation. Don’t get me wrong. Both are really good singers in their own styles.
Avril bring me more emotions than that version of Ariana (2013-2017)... I prefer her music all the way if we ignore TUN. Ariana's vocals may be superior (4 octaves and her signature is high belting) but Avril can do whatever she wants with her voice changing the style of her songs without sounding like a different person or losing the emotions. 2 different persons w not even the same style. Not really a fair competition, but it was ok. It showcased the 2 girls talent.

I absolutely respect Ariana for her talent. There is no way to say something against her abilities! When it comes to my personal taste I would always go with Avril Lavigne. I mean.. I grew up with her music. I love her voice, it touches me differently. On every song she sings there is true emotion and you get that emotion and that is what pulls the strings for me.
It's one of those times when you hear a vocally deft singer but their voice doesn't speak to your soul or give you goosebumps but on the other hand there's this singer whose voice is slightly less powerful than the other artist but she can make you fall in love with her. My personal preference is Avril.
Ariana's a great singer, don't get me wrong but her music doesn't speak to me the way Avril's does. Pop punk is what Avril really believed in since the beginning and she's emoted beautifully through it. It's not about technicality always, it's sometimes about the emotion and that's where I'll gravitate, more than trills and tricks because that's what singing is about. It's about escaping, believing and emoting.

It’s hard to compare those two because of the different singing styles. Arianna likes to show off and use her voice to full potential while Avril likes to sing for fun and be more chill about how and what she sings. I don’t think one is better than the other. They have such different styles and techniques. Avril enunciates sooo much more and thats always more appealing to myself. Ariana has amazing range but I just prefer the rawness of Avril.

Sure, Ariana has more range, but I personally prefer Avril's tone and style of singing. I just don't have a place in my heart for singers who don't enunciate. It really annoys me to no end.
5:43 those transitions from chest voice to head voice are really impressive, wow! As a singer myself, I can say from experience that those transitions are a lot more difficult than they seem.

Both are really good singers, but I prefer Avril Lavigne for numerous reasons. She sings with her heart and soul. I can really feel what she says through every note she sings, and that really captures my attention. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pop or a rock song. Technically, Avril uses more her mid and high registers and has a unique style of singing, which I find more interesting than just showing off what you can do with your voice. Of course this is only my appreciation. Don’t get me wrong. Both are really good singers in their own styles.

Avril bring me more emotions than that version of Ariana (2013-2017)... I prefer her music all the way if we ignore TUN. Ariana's vocals may be superior (4 octaves and her signature is high belting) but Avril can do whatever she wants with her voice changing the style of her songs without sounding like a different person or losing the emotions.
2 different persons w not even the same style. Not really a fair competition, but it was ok. It showcased the 2 girls talent.
I absolutely love Avril and I've been waiting for more videos with her but this battle is not gonna be fair, to be honest xD I'm sure Ariana's gonna win but for me Avril's the winner. I love her music, her personality and the fact that she writes her own lyrics, music and plays instruments. I've been a fan for almost 12 years. I think she's way too underrated, where I feel that Ariana is overrated. I respect her, of course, and I think she's talended, just her music doesn't speak to me anymore.

It's one of those times when you hear a vocally deft singer but their voice doesn't speak to your soul or give you goosebumps but on the other hand there's this singer whose voice is slightly less powerful than the other artist but she can make you fall in love with her. My personal preference is Avril.

Ariana's a great singer, don't get me wrong but her music doesn't speak to me the way Avril's does. Pop punk is what Avril really believed in since the beginning and she's emoted beautifully through it. It's not about technicality always, it's sometimes about the emotion and that's where I'll gravitate, more than trills and tricks because that's what singing is about. It's about escaping, believing and emoting.
Avril will always be my number one! You can hear the emotion in her voice when she sings.

Not a lot of people talk about it but Ariana has a lot of technical support for live performances. Avril really came up in a time when you need to be able to please crowd with nothing but like a guitar and voice.

It’s hard to compare those two because of the different singing styles. Arianna likes to show off and use her voice to full potential while Avril likes to sing for fun and be more chill about how and what she sings. Arianna is like that one theater kid and Avril is the one who can sing who is always in the back of the choir, if you know what I mean by those references.
Also don't see St Ari playing any instruments whilst singing. Just totally unbalanced kinda comparison.

Ariana can be technically better, but Avril's voice is way more expressive. I think the expressiveness is more important than technique because the latter can be learnt by anyone, the ability to convey emotions instead, is a priviledge of a few. So for me Avril wins.
