I love how stellaride wasnt even a thing at that time but they are still holding hands hugging and saving each other they came a long way
It kind of was though. We know Severide had a crush on her before she even arrived at 51 and then they were sort of friends with benefits for a while before this, but you could tell both wanted more but the timing wasn't right with Stella just having gone through a messy divorce. But they were friends throughout season 5 and pretty much best friends by season 6 with sexual tension and feelings hanging over them the whole time. They have defiantly had each others backs from the start.
