Noxxi crashed our guilds raid training not long ago. They were more than welcome. We had a blast and they helped enormously! I'm sure what ever noxxi did was funny and deserved.😂
One of the strengths of HWB is how steady the stream of healing is (symbols+regen+elite signet), with access to multiple enormous burst heals (Bow of Truth, Receive the Light, staff 2+4). You even get a ~1.5k heal on your dodge, which translates to over 2k to allies once you factor in the ENORMOUS outgoing healing mod (Invigorated Bulwark is cracked). If you somehow need even MORE healing, you can take sanctuary and glacial heart for yet ANOTHER massive heal, pushing upwards of ~19k over 7s to allies on a 32s cd. Need even MORE healing? Well you're in luck! Holy Reckoning carries might all on its own, allowing you to take Pure of Heart for another ~1.3k heal on your aegis blocks. I have had ZERO issues keeping myself and my subgroup alive in Boneskinner pugs with this build (assuming they avoid the one shot lol). There's a ton of trait/util flexibility here, giving you the ability to fine-tune the amount of damage, healing, and boons you provide for each fight. FWIW I attempted the same "extremely threatening" pulsing aura test you did and had no problem surviving forever as long as I was cycling through the shout heal, bow of truth, and the occasional dodge (and casting virtues off cd for boons).
Watching this, it felt like you should swap to Staff more often, especially if you can't melee whack for a bit. In addition to the 'pole dance', skill 2 is both a blast and good healing on its own.
The series are now complete for the healers, but for those who want to try out Heal Willbender, the new spear skills are perfect for the spec, and it performs much much better than hammer.
You pretty much nailed it...one piece of advice...you dont need "feel my wrath" as the elite You dont need to bring quickness or fury on this build - and while the superspeed will be nice soon you really lack healing so signet if courage would be the perfect addition! Just leave it on passive and it will be another source of strong sustain healing while being a good oh s*** button when you need a bigger heal (with a precast time 😂 )
@@Cross_111yeah, that's good enough....not a fan compared to other supp that can actually heal but that's only relevant in WvW....fortunately in PvE most healers(minus WB) are more than enough unless you're trying to carry a new group.
So as a guard main I wanted this build to be good sooooo bad but for all of the reasons you mentioned, it is a struggle. A couple of notes. 1) Relic of Karakosa - because it heals your group BUT NOT YOU, I often found myself dying while my group mates lived. In testing I brought two guildies in there with me and I could do blast finisher after blast finisher to keep them up. However what inevitably happened was I would die and they would still be there alive, because I didn't benefit from those blast finishers as much as they did. 2) you can swap the signet for Merciful Intervention, which is a cool ass skill where you have a 1200 teleport to ground target and heal, so you can use it for mobility or just right on top of yourself and the group to get a other big bump of healing. 3) replace the elite with Signet of Courage for a bunch more passive healing for the whole group and having a mega "oh shit" heal on hand, albeit with a long cast time that has to land to be effective 4) the drawbacks being that to have that higher output of healing you replace the utilities mentioned above and now you're either not helping in the uptime of fury, or quickness, or stability, or having a rez on hand. Takeaways. All the things you said about needing to have a target to hit is accurate, as well as all the movement skills making it dangerous to stay in target when the boss phases. I felt like this could be a usable build in 2 scenarios. 1) you have an excellent group where people aren't stepping in stupid things and all the other boons are covered and you just need continuous raw healing, so you're extra utility isn't required. 2) there's another healer in the group and you are just bringing additional healing to the group. Also, it's quite dependent on quickness. If you're quickness provider drops off that hammer swing slows to a crawl and maintaining your symbol is almost impossible to keep up so you lose your blast field and prot generation and you are just better off staying in staff at that point. So close, and yet just not quite there. It's clear why it's not the meta. I think it wouldn't take a lot to get it there, the appropriate relic or some tweak to the hammer perhaps. But as it stands your analysis is quite on point.
I did played Healbender when SnowCrows posted it and it is a ton of fun when you are able to whack at least 1 enemy. The stupidly easy to obtain amount of boons ease a lot 90% of the PvE content of the game, but when you go to raids, strikes or T3 fractals your healing output is definitively lacking. Fun setup to go on most PvE but not all (unless you are part of SnowCrows). Also, much love to Noxxi for the treat and to you for laughing it off.
Nice to see that Noxxi woke up and chose violence before finding that footage in the Nox Box. As for this build, it does seem like it started with someone trying way too hard to make a meme a dream because they couldn't make pre-staff healsworn work and only proved that base guardian could probably pump out the same healing.
A few good tips to increase healing output on the build is to use F3, advance, or other blocking skills to build up stacks of Invigorated Bulwark (a trait you had selected in Honor) which increases outgoing healing to other allies. The golem damage field can't break your aegis so there is no good way to see that extra healing there. Also when you are in a fight that were you don't use a consecration skill you can swap the Master of Consecrations trait to Resolute Focus in Virtues, which will give you some extra self aegis which will help with Invigorated Bulwark Stacks.
Are you going to also show the builds you play a lot like druid or scourge? Would be nice to see a breakdown for all heal supports. Unless it’s already on your channel and I’m just missing it
If you run bow of truth for long enough, you get real good at both predicting when you need it and where to aim it (and there will still be times when it just gets delivered to someone else house ha)
I feel like Purging Flames is such a synergistic utility for this build it's hard to justify not taking. Multi-hit damage field to help trigger your virtues, cleanses condis, provides a fire field you can blast with either of your weapons...it's just Loaded.
For the arcdps not working, I found that if you have blish installed and you run the game through it, arcdps works just fine regardless of the update 😊
Something that I realized after learning my first few healbuilds: its not about keeping yourself alive. It's about keeping glass cannon dps alive in - at least - the moderate field. For example Cele Scourge can easily stay alive in extreme damage and still deal like 12k. But a dps besides you will just drop dead quickly. While in moderate you can keep a dps alive no problem (which should realistically be your goal. After all, even boneskinner has lower arena damage than extreme field). Just mentioning Scourge because it's the one I personally have the most experience with. That said, thank you very much for this series, it was very interesting seeing your perspective on all the healers.
Purging flame is not for condi clns it's a fire field(right) so full combo will give might instead and hammer 3rd skill gives barrier and also for more healing u can stand on willblender flame
I feel like you've had fun with most of these builds, this is the first video where I felt like you were STRAIGHT-UP BORED XD Not your favorite one eh?
I tried heal alac wb like 2 months ago. Felt so bad to play when i took it to t3 fractals. I feel like they need to lower the amount of hits to trigger passive2 or even just some form of burst healing. And this was me coming from heal fb. It feels so bad compared to it. Not even the lack of utility thats the problem.
I didn't really understand the hammer? Is it for the auto attack chain symbol which generates might? If that is the case, why not use mace? It drops a symbol aswell and no way in hell you will ever die with mace 1h. That weapon has probably the most healing potential from all classes in the entire game.
Thx for noticing the build. Few notes: For Weapons - hammer is actual meme viable pick - have some heal on autoattack symbol, but that's it, symbol is quite small area too. It can easily stack few healing fields on each another, which is nice. Staff have good burst heal on 4. Also consider wearing axe - big aoe symbol, and fury and little pull, mace for more heals and overprotection spam, both paired with shield for some aegis and even more protection. For range heal, like sabetha kite, scepter is also an option (and do might in symbol). For traits, upper major master wb - [Restorative Virtues], reduce cds of weapons skills, depends on weapon (meh on hammer, good on staff and scepter, mid on mace/axe) may be helpful on some fights too. [Holy Reckoning] is my default pick too. Every adept-honor trait have something to offer too. For skills: traits of virtue [Master of Consecrations] - empower consecration skills, gtfo SYG, its crap!, [Purging Flames] (great cleans and also hits, to activate our F skills) and [Hallowed Ground] (actual permanent resolution, and stab pulses) are the way to go, also both are fire fields. For ultimate, FMW is actual bad pick, [Heaven's Palm] for great cc or [Signet of Courage] for some more heal are much better. For rotation - F rotation is F3->F1->F2 then F1->F2, repeated on every F2 cd is available, the idea is to keep F2 effect on, casting another F replace effect of older F skill. Hallowed Ground can be spammed on cd for resolution if we don't expect need of stab. Everyone, gogo enjoy healbender! Now to wait for vid of undruid with double staff (or staff with mace/horn), that blinds all (includes teammates).
My 2 cents as a guardian one trick. This one is great, unless you must mind your positioning. Things like KO CM, Deimos, Twin Largos, HT CM, Adina and Sabir CMs, to name a few make this build prohibited, unless played to perfection. We are talking no less than 3 force movement skills that can easily yeet you off platform. Also it lacks burst healing, which makes it kinda risky in pugs. The tradeoff is an extremely easy boon upkeep, on demand stability and blocks and endless CC if needed. Final verdict: The best situational healer, probably.
As I understand it the hammer was in the build for: 1 - the auto chain gives protection 2 - the 2 skill does blast combos on a 4 second cooldown, this procs relic of karakosa a lot and also does cleansing combos a lot
