I got a generic one. My only complaint is its distortion.. It makes me dizzy. I don't know if the 3m would do that to me also. To test the seals you can put your palm over the holes and breath in and breath out to test the positive and negative vacuum seals.
I didn’t get the distortion from either of my masks, or at least not enough to bother me. Very true with checking for a good seal on the masks. Overall I’m still happy with the generic one. It’s not as nice as my 3m, but if you are only using it every once in a while it should get the job done
@@ModdedProjectsGarage good to know. I was debating on weather to get the 3m linds replacmint or to try a new mask. the cheep ones r nice due to saving 100$+

The only way to really know if the generic version is working correctly is to compare its quantitative test fit results against the 3M version using specialised equipment. This is a common requirement for many mining and industrial businesses here in Australia. Interestingly I was test fitted for the 6800 and 6900 and while they both fit, I failed the test with the 6800 as it could not hold a proper seal. I wouldn’t have picked this up if I’d been simply going by the “feel” and my gut instinct.
I got the copy one, it is exactly as the original one made by 3M. the only thing I suggest to change are the filters, you can get the 3M filters and then put it on you copy mask and will work perfectly specially for health cares
Hi, I am a health worker and I was thinking about getting a "copy" mask and putting the 3M filters, but I was wondering if it would work the same. So if you recommend it to me?
@@alespindola8891 I highly recommend you the copy. Get one from wish. You need the 3M equivalent till face mask. This is important for making sure that the filters gonna work well. The security is given by the filter not by the mask itself. However, what I can tell you regarding the copy one is that is really well made. ( good materials ).
Julian Galindo Hi. For the purchase of full face in wish, it is the same to choose "low quality, high quality or luxury edition". Does it have great difference between one and the other?
For people outside the US maybe buying in China is a good option because you can find the clone for 20$ and in my country a full set of the 3M 6800 can cost from 230$ (only the mask) to up to 300$ some companies can charge up to 400$ for one keep in mind the base month wage for us is 281.57$ as of today so if you live in a lesser fortunate county sometimes it just doesn't make sense
some good news: The REAL 3M's are a lot more affordable now. I can easily get a half or full face respirator on amazon without having to prove one way or another that I am a critical front line worker. I highly suggest people get a respirator while they are still affordable as we don't know what the next COVID variant will bring.
Thanks for making this vid, this should help people whose concerned abt getting which 3M 6800. Nice on point informative review right there 🌟 I got a legit 3M 6800 and had been used for 2 months now, but was thinking of "what if scenario" and kinda look at the copies around eBay / AliExpress / etc as a cheaper emergency alternative if ever needed. So...the problem with the copies are as you described, so long as it completely safely seals that's the most important bit. However I'm afraid abt how long it would last...and I'm also worried of the non-existent Quality Control on the copies (I think they don't even have QC there, unlike legit ones). I could get a copy in good condition like yours there or maybe...end up with something that completely breaks off the moment I pick it up 😂
Thanks for the comment! I agree that the quality from mask to mask could vary. My biggest concern would definitely be the mounting of the filters/cartridges. The plastic just doesn’t seem like it would hold out after constant use. Overall, for the price they seem to be a decent mask though. Modded Projects Garage, thank you! I’m checking it out. So do you recommend the knock-off for occasional use? I am thinking about standing in line to vote this fall as one application. (I’m going to vote if it kills me.)
Joe Dodge the 3m is impact rated. The generic one I don’t believe came with any paperwork if I recall. It was literally in a bag. I’m using it for painting.
There are center adapters that can take a 40mm gas mask canister. 3m calls it a DIN center adapter, there is a chinese clone of that mask you can find on ebay or chinese websites like aliexpress, or gearbest. The easiest way you can spot the 40mm version is looking for a gaint screw knob on the center of the exhalation part of the mask. That said I don't know if the chinese DIN version is for nato threads or GOST (russian gas mask) threads.
