The Very Best Video on how you properly clean and prepare chitterlings. I definitely subscribed to your channel. Thank You Mr. MARCUS, you really need to open up a restaurant.
I tried this recipe this Thanksgiving, and it was sooooo delicious! I did 2 packs of chitterlings and a pack of hog maws. When I got down to the bottom of the slow cooker, all I had was hog maws. This is DEFINITELY a repeat for Christmas, I already got my 4 packs of chitterlings. This time, no hog maws, and I'm gonna double the recipe. Also, I'm gonna cook rice to put the chitterlings over so I can stretch this deliciousness even further!
I agree, he is definitely the best video that explains everything, so many others just describe it as if everyone should know what they are talking about, I never done them myself but my dad used to years ago. I would normally just find someone to bring my a plate of them but since I’m planning on moving out west soon and I want to enjoy all my favorite southern foods before moving
This is a very thorough and informative set of videos. From the cleaning process to cooking my chitterlings I’m definitely going to borrow your method. Thank you and Happy Holidays Marcus! 🙏🏽
Your recipe for cleaning and cooking chitterlings is absolutely fantastic...so detailed, lots of tips and articulated in language we can understand. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing this video! I watched both. Your background music is so relaxing. Your instructions are so details and I will follow them to a T. Wish me luck because it will be my first time. I will be confident! Happy holidays!
@MarcusTheTalented hey Marcus so I made them your way and they turned out sooooo good! I talked to my sister about the brand you used and she was like those are the best and easiest to clean. It took me three hours for three bags to clean but it was my first time and I took my time. I followed your instructions and my husband loved them. Sooo tender. My dad said it was some of the best he ever had (he is 70 lol so he knows good Chitterlings) happy new year!
I thought my step dad was the cleaning pro for chitterlings 🤭. You have us beat! I’m making some today and will follow all your steps for this recipe. I only have 1 bag (omg they are so expensive now. Used to be 15.99 but I only bought them on sale for 9.99 this one bag was 28.99😅). Can’t wait for these to be done! Love your style and your whole vibe! I will be back for more 😊. God bless you!
Exactly how I cook mine (minus the celery and bell pepper)! And, yes, the Lipton onion soup mix gives it the most delicious flavor! It's a must try! Well done Marcus!
Thanks for the tutorial! You made preparing chittlins look so easy. I'm going to use your cleaning and cooking method on 15 pre-cleaned lbs for New Year dinner. Wish me luck!!😂
I like everything you did in the cleaning and washing phase. I've been cooking chitterlings for over 50 years and I agree that everyone should flavor chitterlings to their taste. Any seasonings you like should work. The only thing I would suggest is there is no reason to put your slow cooker on low. I've cooked chitterlings on top of the stove, in slow cookers and currently in an instant pot for 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on the quantity.
Marcus you are great with those chitterlings. You have taken it to another level. You may consider opening a Marcus Soul Food Dinery. I thought I was good at cooking chitterlings. You got me beat. Thank you very much for sharing. Would like to see you take expertise to another level.
Crab boil is good for spice too, my dad used crab boil and I think that’s all he used. I don’t remember him using any vegetables but I was only 9 them so I could have just not remembered that part
Wussup brah wifey said she wouldn't have thought to add the Liptons. We will use it the next time we cook ours .Your recipe sounds tasteful we are going to try it over rice thank you man
This is my first time so I’m using crab boil like my dad used to use, but I’m saving your video bc next time I think I’ll use your recipe. Do you ever fry them, I’d like to see a video to see how you fry yours if you do
This will be my first time cooking them and I had some before and mixed them with pigfeet and they was so good....thinking about using feet instead of maws
I'm with you on that. This is just one of several ways to cook them, especially if you're sharing. Everyone likes there's differently and this recipe is a common ground.
Wassup man this was a really pleasant video step by step well done I use that Lipton onion soup in mine too and has made them taste better than ever i also cook them in a half cup of Reddit sauce with the seasoning so I don't have to squirt none on when there done!!! Yum yum im a new subscriber👌
Hey, Lori! Yes, Aunt Bessie's or any other brand that's in the bag is always going to have a slightly different texture than the buckets. Thanks for asking. I hope my answer helps
Aunt Bessie's chitterlings are not real chitterlings, they don't look like real chitterlings, they are to large, to tuff, to rubbery, they take much much longer to cook, and they don't even have that chitterlings smell and a faint chitterling taste. Her chitterlings must be from another part of the pig or from another animal. Am I the only one that has noticed this about Aunt Bessie's chitterlings? 🤔
Yes you’re the only one Chile 😉.. it’s just the process.. the buckets have been around for so many decades before we had the tools we have now.. but do what works for you.
On ham I liked the fat skin or fatty part on my slice On pork steak chop I like that bc of the fat On my oxtails I like the fat onit On my beef chittlins I like a little fat left onit….that being said you took off all the fat off them that’s another reason you added the butter fat makes flavor YALL Beef chittlins don’t smell and are much easier to clean and cook for me anyway I don’t eat pork any longer for 25+yrs do I’ve learned to eat lamb shoulder sliced like pork steak❤
They look beautiful! They aren't dark.

People don't want to see anything black in the chittlings that's why he don't use black pepper.
Crab boil is good for spice too, my dad used crab boil and I think that’s all he used. I don’t remember him using any vegetables but I was only 9 them so I could have just not remembered that part
I can definitely see crab boil as being a winner 🏆
Love your method, looks delicious 😋
I appreciate it 🙏

I've never fried them, but I definitely don't mind giving that a go and showing you how I do it when I do.
How long did you boil these chitterling

This will be my first time cooking them and I had some before and mixed them with pigfeet and they was so good....thinking about using feet instead of maws

Butter is a tenderizer?
Yes.
I didn't know that, you sure?
😂😂😂😂 Nooooo!! 🤣🤣🤣
I would like to know where you can buy them. Can’t find them at all.
It depends on where you're located. The bags run out pretty quickly. I often end up getting the buckets
HOW MUCH OF EACH SEASONING DO YOU USE?
Hey there! they are listed in the video. I mention them and have them listed on the screen ❤️
Wassup man this was a really pleasant video step by step well done I use that Lipton onion soup in mine too and has made them taste better than ever i also cook them in a half cup of Reddit sauce with the seasoning so I don't have to squirt none on when there done!!! Yum yum im a new subscriber👌
I appreciate it bro, yes that Liptons is definitely a game changer. Welcome to the fam
My chitterlings don't taste the same to me anymore they are too thin
I heard Aunt Bessie chitterlings have a different texture than other brands. Is that true?
Hey, Lori! Yes, Aunt Bessie's or any other brand that's in the bag is always going to have a slightly different texture than the buckets. Thanks for asking. I hope my answer helps
I tried Aunt Bessies...different texture and taste from what I'm use to...I wouldn't cook them again!
Nope, I trust your cleaning process, but I don't. Want any they white. Mines don't be white.
Aunt Bessie's chitterlings are not real chitterlings, they don't look like real chitterlings, they are to large, to tuff, to rubbery, they take much much longer to cook, and they don't even have that chitterlings smell and a faint chitterling taste. If you are going to eat chitlins why add garlic, peppers, or onions. I just add salt and pepper to mine and people love tnem that way
Just for better flavor. I add vinegar, hotsauce, and crushed seeded pepper. Delicious!
On ham I liked the fat skin or fatty part on my slice
On pork steak chop I like that bc of the fat
On my oxtails I like the fat onit
On my beef chittlins I like a little fat left onit….that being said you took off all the fat off them that’s another reason you added the butter fat makes flavor YALL
Beef chittlins don’t smell and are much easier to clean and cook for me anyway
I don’t eat pork any longer for 25+yrs do I’ve learned to eat lamb shoulder sliced like pork steak❤
I understand. Didn't make them for myself everybody don't like all that
