I finally got a planner like 2 weeks ago and I've watched probably 100 videos on decorating and set up. This video is by far the best one i've ever seen! I know Im 9 months late but thanks so much for this video! Awesome!
I would consider myself an intermediate planner but I still found this video super helpful! I really think it is important to figure out what type of planning works best for the individual before going out and splurging on all these expensive stickers. I would love to see a second installment of this video!

Could you do a video with the best shops (in terms of value and quality) on Etsy to get functional stickers (to do lists, appointments, etc) ?? I find tons of stickers but as a newbie it's a little overwhelming and I want to make sure when I take the plunge it's a good investment..

Another tip for you planner newbies... Test out both matte and glossy sticker and find what works best for you. I started out getting matte stickers and i love it so i was luckily.
Yes! Totally agree. When I first started I thought that I liked matte stickers more because they were easier to write on, but the glossy stickers just look better in my spreads.

Great informative video for a planner newbie like myself! I love that it isn't too crazy on the decoration either.. I have seen spreads that have wayyyyy too much going on that I personally find hard to actually see what is on the pages because the decoration obscures a lot of the writing. HI! I just watched this video for a couple of times and I cannot agree more with what you say. I am an agenda/planner addict ever since I can remember and it still took me a couple of years to realize that a vertical layout makes more sense for my head than an horizontal one. Not to mention color coding drama and fancy stickers. There were times when I gave up planners because of it. One should buy a cheaper agenda first and try find his/her own style with some basic stickers and washi. This is what I did, over and over again until I found out what works for me. I even made some DIY stamps out of rubber gums :) to match my thoughts for my listst and layouts. It is really helpful to have this kind of videos. Keep them coming. :)

But when I saw your spreads with the Michaels sticker books, I knew instantly that it would be a great way for me to make what I've already got last longer! Love all the advice that you give in this video! I would also recommend getting some clear planner stamps to start. It will also be more economical especially for things you use all the time instead of buying stickers

I bought a Plum Paper planner & literally did exactly what you said "BUY ALL THE STICKERS!" 😂 wasn't a huge mistake but now I definitely have stickers that I'm like why the heck did I buy these? lol Awesome video!
I love your comments about washi tape. You are absolutely right when you say using washi to start is a good idea. Honestly, I have two rolls that match my planner, and I rely on markers, pens, and even highlighters to add color to the pages (I'm a poor college student, so my desire for tons of adorable stickers isn't realistic). Great video, by the way! Fantastic as usual. :)
Like you said, functionality is key. If you want to start out with some stickers, then going for ones you know you might definitely need that will still make your planner look cute is good. And then as time goes by every time you see cute sticker set that will look good on your planner, you can get it and it makes the experience more exciting. Instead of getting everything right away, you can get little things every once in a while and that makes your planning more fun and exciting for you.

i love everything planner related. from stickers to highlighters to post its to washi samples. i prefer a plain as can be agenda and then add everything else. my number one reason for wanting a planner is to keep EVERYTHING in one place. no judgement on anyone else. but i do have a need for a variety of functional stickers. shopping, date night, vacuum, laundry, tune up, school, church, vacation, dr, visitors....ect.

I like the ban.do planner I bought at Nordstrom. I write in various colored Paper Mate pens. The planner is a pink hardcover book with a black saying on the cover that reads, "YOU'RE KILLING IT!!!" It includes fun stickers and a pink ribbon book mark.. Cool!
I really like your videos! I'm new to the planner community. It's not a lot of stickers on Etsy for us guys out here but I did find a few SuperHero sticker books to use for my layouts and I bought a few rolls of washi, and for pen I only use The Pilot .5 pens and I'll continue to use them I'm not into all the fancy colors. I really like the ECLP my nurse preceptor recommended me to get one and I bought one and I'm actually excited to get it and actually use it. I know it's gonna take some time for me to get use to using it but I do have plans on using it and watch my life progress with it! 😎 and I bought some holiday stickers from your shop and I can't wait to lay them out they are the coolest!

Another great tip is free printable! I'm new, so all the different sticker shops can be overwhelming. Thankfully I stumbled upon free printables, and shops that offer instant download sheets for under $2. I decided to start with that, and then I'm going to shop 1 easy shop at a time instead of a bunch (you and Sweet Kawaii Design are the bomb, and will be my first orders). Please make tap dance shoes (my baby does tap and ballet)!

You're the first person to make a "what you need to get started"-type video that doesn't say "ok, now leave your house, and buy half of Michael's and spend all your money on Etsy". It's kind of scary (to me) the thought that to plan pretty, you'd need such an initial investment. Thank you for being more down to Earth =)

Instead of dealing with a bunch of rolls of washi tape you don't think you'll ever use up, you can just wrap as much washi tape you want to keep of each roll around plastic cards, like used gift cards or even playing cards (the sturdier the better, of course), then give the rest of the roll that you don't think you'll ever use to a friend. You can fit a few designs on each card, arranged by color or theme if you like, making the washi tape much easier to store, organize, find and use. You could even trade washi tape with someone else or several others who do the same thing so you can end up with a large variety of designs that are easy to organize, store, use and not waste. That way you'll have lots of choices and are less likely to be wasteful. :-) I'm pretty sure there are some Facebook groups out there who facilitate people meeting others to trade stuff like that, although I haven't gotten secure enough in the washi tape or planner world to try it myself yet, though. :-)
Where did you get the thin washi? Do you remember what Etsy shop? I've been looking forever for some thin ones that are good quality, but I don't know where to get them for a reasonable price. Thanks!
