Thanks, it is a big help to know which way to pull and to have a view of clips before starting this job. By the way, I found the lower clips release easily when I pushed down on the grill with one hand at the same time pulled forward with the other hand. No need to reach behind the grill.
I did this when I had to replace the bonnet latch. I unplugged my battery first and then removed the grill and the plug from the ACC sensor. After I was finished I plugged everything back together and then plugged the battery in. All the errors came up on the dash, but a quick drive and switching the car on and off after the drive reset them. You will need a computer of some sort to clear the codes fully of the cars system as some may not reset after the drive. The computer takes car of that though. So doing this will not damage the sensor in anyway as long as you follow the steps!
Is there anyone who has tried this unable to get the plastic latches to come up so it can be pulled forward? Just tried this on mine and couldn't seem to get the latches to unhinge to let me pull it forward.
I think we missed the part where you undo the clips. Do you just reach behind the grill after you loosen the top and pull up on the end of each tab? Use a screw driver? Do you have to clip them back down when you re-assemble? Thanks.
you probably dont care but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Alfredo Adam thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.

Hey can someone redo this video? The hardest part is releasing those clips from the back and nobody shows us how it's actually done. 0/10 video thanks for not giving us any information

This method was perfect
Spot on I used your technique and it came off in 5 seconds after spending 20mins trying to pry up the stupid clips from behind the grill
This method is the way thank you for sharing. Popped right off

That voice crack when he said "DIY", haha!
Great video, Paul. Thanks for documenting this.
dude, i have scratched my bumper a couple times doing this. from now on i recommend blue tape on the bumper in front of it in case it slips
Did you radar sensor had to rescaled after you had it remove or dies work fine afterwards?
@@pederfree1251 mine worked fine, never did anything to it.
Do you have to recalibrate the ACC sensor after transferring it from one grill to another? Or after its unplugged?

You skipped the hardest part, those clips you have to pry up behind can make tempers flare. PITA
Ya, he never did show the “back view” as mentioned in the video. Without that being shown, the only thing shown is 2 T25 screws. Worthless video.
OATH, that was NOT fun.
3 years later and no answer for this lol. And the fact that he did it with is bare hands defies all logic

Could not find the tabs you refer to that have to be lifted!
Did you get any errors when disconnecting the front sensor? Did you do it with the battery disconnected?

When you did that did it trigger the front assist ? Cause I took mine off and put it back and not I have the front assist light :/
Is this the same for the Golf R? The face lifted model

Mind doing this same video for a 2017 mk6 GLI? Awesome work as always keep it up!
