As you might want to start a new series with the update anyway, we might aswell go the risky way. Go as fast as possible south and if necessary back through the channel. If the crew starts moaning, tell them to go fishing,or maybe use the 20mm to hunt some seagulls 😂. Btw. would a restocking in spain have been a possibility for german uboats, at least for non combat supplies like food?
Thanks for the input :). Yeah, the announcement of a soon-to-come beta might influence what I do next. Maybe a fast dash south, completing the objective ASAP and then dash through the channel (or try to) is the best solution. If we actually go and accomplish that, it'll be quite the highlight... if we don't...well, a new update is around the corner so, yeah, this LP might be not that long-lived anyway. I'm not sure we have food even for that, seeing at the rate my crew ate all the stuff I bought at port...I'm not bothered by them moaning about lack of food...but dying of starvation on me is a whole different thing, lol. Restocking in Spain was indeed a possibility later in the war. During WW2 there were german supply ships in El Ferrol, Vigo, Cadiz and in the Canary Islands, which tended to some U-boats in need of a resupply. But this early in the war, no, there were no german ships in station yet to get that done. I think the first german ships on those stations arrived in very early 1940, but...yeah, that's well in the future in this LP.
Nope. The combat part of it is still the best age of sail naval experience in the PC gaming world. But the way they did things with the Open Sea I didn't care about at all. Stopped playing it a long, long time ago, it's not likely I'll try it again.
