I remember my Dad and I working on this, we were so pumped. I woke up one morning and it was ready to go. Without paint. I was so stoked. ☀️
Just watched your video, I am restoring a bear hawk too.
Fantastic video. Definitely the style I prefer. I love the spray painted bushings bit.
Me too! Where can I get that paint spray can from, would love to convert all my cheap bushes to ball bearings as well.
I had a Bearhawk wish they would re-release it.
I have one of these. It’s pretty beat. The entire rear section is cracked. Hope I can find some new parts
I didn't know what the kv the motor was on it.
Just found you vid. Really great editing. What pinion is it running. Can I assume its a 0.8 mod, 15 tooth?
Does it have to be silver paint for the bearings?
The falcon is supposed to come out at the end of the year.
Hey Brad, the motor in the video was an 8.5t which was equivalent to about 4500kv I think. Just keep searching ebay for bearhawks, have had 3 to restore and they cost me about 40-50gbp each. I have a Falcon too that I have been rebuilding and working on. Is there any official source on the Falcon re release?
@@HarryMakesThings this is what rckicks said and he heard it from a good source. So how much is that in US dollars the Bearhawk?
How did you clean the dirt off plastics? I was tempted to put all of mine in a net bag and put them in the dishwasher? 🤷🏼♂️
Ultrasonic cleaner here, but at the moment I just tend to use dish soap and a toothbrush and elbow grease. The dishwasher works well for others though!
H Hills i chickened out and used an old electric toothbrush and a lot of dish soap - they came up well. The chassis is so dirty from racing in a workshop my wife would kill me if i put it in the dishy 😆
@@gravey07 hah! yes I imagine that wouldn't go down too well. I always find its the greasy finger prints that get me. Good luck with the restoration!
You can just hear the ring and pinion screaming.
What is the tie rod that you put?
M3 threaded rod cut to length
Pinion spur mesh is to tight.
Unfortunately there's no real way to adjust this as there are only 2 mounting positions. It's run fine for a couple years now.
@@HarryMakesThings oh didn't know that
