What pad do you use to kneel on when you are building the fire? How do you guys put out your fires in the summer especially if water is not near by? Have you ever thought of using steel wool as a fire starter?
Usually we just use a sitting pad, but we often don't use anything since we use water resistant pants. We have restrictions in Norway when it comes to fire. From 15th of april to 15th of september we are not allowed to start a fire. We always take precautions before starting a fire, which may include digging a hole in the ground and removing all dry flammable materials around the fire. We usually make a bed of rocks and a wall of rocks around the fire pit to make the fire more "protected". We have tried a couple of different methods lately, but not steel wool, that would've been fun for sure! Thanks for the questions buddy!! Cheers
