Jumping through the cancelled windows rabbit hole, we also have windows Neptune, which wasn't actually cancelled, just made into XP (codename Whistler). Windows Longhorn was also cancelled but it was technically just a beta version of Windows Vista.
I've been using windows 11 and I've definitely noticed a noticeable decrease in lag in the OS. this would make more sense since windows 11 is what windows 10x came out of, and windows 10x has removed some of the bloat. it's almost like the windows 9 became 10 sorta thing but moved up a generation.

Same, windows 10X was something I was waiting on for a full year since I saw thio's 10X video in 2019. Since that didn't work, I just skipped it and upgraded to win 11. Still, its heartbreaking to see an actual good version of windows just get cancelled so easily...
It would have been nice to have a proper running OS for those walmart cheapo laptops with 4GB RAM 64GB EMMC storage laptops instead of forcing them to run full windows 10 with no means to upgrade anything on the machine.

Windows 10 21H2 will be a minor update - build 19044. (21H1 is 19043). Since Windows 11 was announced, Microsoft has stopped releasing weekly insider preview builds of Windows 10 which is why it is thought Windows 10 won't get any more major feature updates. Especially now that Microsoft is working on Windows 11
6:03 I think this file explorer is just the basic version of the windows file explorer because when you try to use a custom background on the xbox one x (which also uses the windws core) you will see a similar User Interface.

It's to bad they canceled 10X. I liked the idea of a ChromeOS Windows Alternative. Something that can compete with Chrome in schools and for people who want something light and simple especially if it can use full Office. I could have seen myself getting one for writing when I'm out and about instead of getting an expensive (or cheaply made inexpensive) laptop.

A school I'm working at has a smart display that is running Windows 10X (I think). It's very similar to what you had shown in this video, extremely barebones and you can't even access the Task Manager. However, I'm unsure which version it's running as the Start menu is a lot different (opening it fills the whole screen with a list of apps, similar to Windows 10 style) and the Edge browser is still the old one.

I've read in a German tech news site that the TPM requirement won't be for the final version of Win11 and that it's only for Insider Preview Users now, and that the Windows Team isn't sure about the final Win11 requirements yet.

I managed to keep my desktop on 8.1 (it was a fight), because I don't want spyware as my O/S. I have it as dual boot with Linux Mint. Currently in the process of downloading Linux versions of all my programs, then I'll get that MS crap off my computer completely.
I don't see a lightweight Windows 10 being of any use for us. What would have been nice is a simpler method of configuring Windows 10 Pro for my staff machines without all the garbage in Windows, that has no place in an office environment. I need an hour or more removing everything I can to have as trim a deployment as I can.

The answer to your question is no, not really. But I can do without some of the bloatware. I am a PC user always will be. I do miss some of the programs they included back in the 98SE days. Like when they had the home publishing software, money & maps. Also I'm not surprised with this because this is typical Microsoft fashion. This is always how they have been, it's typicall of them. For your Generation though it's different likes with different reasons. Some of it is good but not happy with it all. To each their own I guess.

I use bitdefender and it does a lot of fake alarms but its so good for protecting your pc 9/10.

I'd say, that this project became so expensive and the changes so extreme, that they eventually remade it into Windows 11.
