Don't let him get to your nerves. I deal with customers every day like you and I realized that the more you do for them, the worst they treat you. Do what you can, always with respect and smile... Be cool! Nice day!
I love that you don't edit out mistakes let's everyone see mistakes can be made by even someone of your skill level which in my opinion is damn near God like. Keep up the great videos my friend Thanks for the lessons 👍
I'm sorry for my fellow Canadian. Most of us are nice and not idiots. btw I ordered a bunch of stuff from you and it's arriving tomorrow. Thats stupid fast and thank you. I'm sure to get more stuff from you down the road as I'm learning to fix asic hash boards. Iv learned so much watching your channel so thank you. Have a great day and don't work too much.
Being a fellow Canadian, yes, generally we appreciate other people's efforts to help the ...world, basically. TH-cam reaches out to anyone. This is a great channel. I have ordered from the store a couple times and both have been delivered crazy fast. Not enjoying custom fees but it is what it is. Thanks Northridgefix, Alex for the videos, Bigboss to help you look good, and Dad for his persistence to take care of eCommerce with top quality.
@Dan Arseneau yes the customs is BS but I still like to support him and his family too. Sure I could get it closer to home but it's my way as I'm sure it's your way to show appreciation for the fantastic information he provides.
Every video: "Okay, we have our probe in continuity mode.... " nothing happens, "Okay, lets put our probe in continuity mode". Great content! Loving how real it all is.
Hi NorthRidgeFix, I am so proud of the fact that you have always inspired us by your professionalism. For those that ridiculed your service are the ones that have no tomorrow. Keep up with the great work...
Finally able to watch your videos again after a long time. If you heard about Typhoon Rai back on the 16th of December, it struck our place spot on. I live in Cebu, Philippines, and our city terribly suffering up to now. We went off the grid for over a month, no power, and internet, no nothing, just darkness. Now, everything are just starting to rise back uo again, I got my internet back too. 😁
This video shows many times why fixing graphics cards is harder than almost everything else in the world of tech. 1. High levels of concentration while figuring out what is wrong. 2. Better than average tools to do the fix. 3. Professional hands, steady and precise. 4. Perfect testing environment, with many parts. 5. Time consuming verification. Thanks to that (and more) fixing them gives a very sweet smile to the face, and a powerful feeling.
I've been watching your videos for over a year now. You are kind, honest, and fair. Unprofessional is on the opposite side of the spectrum of words I would use to describe you. Keep up the good work.
Great job as always with this video card repair. Stand you ground as you are doing with Mr. Canada. Looks like they ruined it for others. Things people here need to remember is that you have a ton of repairs and it is only "YOU" that actually is doing these repairs. Yes you have your family dissembling and reassembling but you the one with the knowhow and skills. One person can only do so much per day. For these impatient people you should invite them in to fix themselves if they think they can do it faster 🙂
Don't let one guy from Canada leave you with a bad feeling about us Canadians. Given your track record and due diligence, I would have said. I'm grateful and take as long as you need. Thank you very much.
Alex is the man! I went to his store and his backlog is stupid... people think he has the ability to work on their card in a day or two. He tells you it may take a few days or weeks to even get to your card or item. And if its a no fix then that's the risk you take for taking it to him. People leaving bad reviews are just jerk customers. If you want to attempt it yourself, go ahead and buy your own equipment and unsolder tiny resistors off your GPU.
but why? at the end of the day alex excepted a gpu fix even though he didnt want to. not only that he forced the customer to pay for expedited, possibly as an attempt to persuade the customer from not wanting the repair. if so then alex shot himself in the foot not once but twice. the first time for making the offer and the second time for taking the job. expedited is expedited. as a customer if you force me to pay more like in these terms ohh you better believe im going to be on your case. im not the type of customer to annoy any hard working individual. i used to wait tables for a long time so i know im not. we all love alex but i dont agree with him on this one. it could all have been avoided if he just said no. him charging a fee for the repair attempt i agree with its a gpu a lot of material and time goes into fixing them, not to mention the dead cores. if i had a customer like this i would be pissed to. the only difference is i would bite my tounge cuz its no ones fault but mine. all the customer did was pay for a service and expect said paid service in return. sure its annoying but its within his rights as a customer.
@@umdasu alex has a lot of work, expedited means that your device would be a priority fix but he also has other expedited devices waiting . He did the guy a favor on allowing to fix his graphics card but he nags him for taking long, that’s just being ungrateful.
@@umdasu while I understand your point, the wait time is around 2 years for a GPU at present. To expect extradited service to be within days is always going to be unlikely. I would be waiting a couple of weeks before messaging. It sounds to me like the customer really wants it fixing, he clearly has things he wants to do with it. Unfortunately it takes time. Imagine the money that would come in if Alex could fix all these immediately!
Very satisfiing seeing you repairing cards, in particular in this period. I guess that adding some more space and using a pc bench would help to work even better
Hi Alex! Thank you for all the uploads to your channel, I have learned a ton and completed some repairs i wouldn't have attempted a few months ago. I think it's time I invest in a thermal camera, what a handy tool.
Alex you are doing a great job. It's all in your head and your brain starts to drive you crazy. sometimes after several failures you need a success, you had that with this GFX card. great work and the day is saved, at least in your head. I don't think it would work so well without a thermal imaging camera. Don't worry if a customer is so annoying and asks for his card after such a short time. everyone who follows your channel knows that you have a lot of work to do. he should just be happy that you still accepted the order even though you no longer accept GFX-cards at the moment. Greets from vienna
Honnestly, You should up the prices of all the services. Demand is high, but you can't deliver anymore to demand. So its better to start asking for higher prices. Also the expodited services are very common, maybe to gap between a normal service and expodited services is to small. Im not a professional but it sounds like people are willing to pay more. so don't make your life miserable and lower demand by upping the price a bit until you can do the work and have enough demand :) Keep the good work! You make it look easy :)
we love the way how you educate people for free at the same time while you daigonose the fault and solve it i wish you big feuther you channel is amazing and simple on the way of understanding this channel should reach more than 1M because it free education and practical lesson im watching you in daily and still learn every day new things all the best regards

That's what I do. I even write it in the invoice! And if you go to someone else but come back to me when they can't fix it, I tack on another 25 to 40 dollars because you wasted my time.

that thermocamera is amazing, being able to pick up such a small temperature increase... these boards are so thick that the pcb itself is a heatsink
Takes forever to heat up the solder too

His store is full of cards that need reparing... if he accepts more cards the customers will have to wait months to get their cards back
He said he took in too much video cards that are waiting to be fixed since last year.
He stopped accepting cards due to the number of cards yet to be examined. I think the last count was around 200 cards awaiting their first investigation.
probably because they are a pain to work on and the time verses percentage of no fixes dosnt make business sense
