Hi from Los Angeles 🙋♀️ Middlesbrough doesn't look rough at all. From what you showed, I'd go there for a day out. Food looked satisfying! Glad you enjoyed it!
I liked the look of a Parmo, had no idea what it was, looked very tasty, but wouldn't travel to Middlesbrough to try one, thanks. Good on that coach driver telling folk to belt up and shut up and not disturb others. 👍👏
I travel a lot on this service, unfortunately people have to be told. On busy services they come and check seat belts and tell people to stop taking 2 seats up.
My favourite parmo is the bolognese one - with an extra portion of pepperoni on top (ask for the pepperoni!). Calling it a parmesan is a bit of a misnomer, as it doesn’t even have parmesan cheese in it! Good idea to try the small version if you have never tried it before - you might not like it! As to the lake in Albert Park - it used to be surrounded by trees - and it was a boating lake with rowing boats - seems to be swan-shaped pedaloes now!
I'd never heard of this dish. Glad you enjoyed it. Also,I was wondering where the ducks were going as well. I'm glad you cleared that up. It looked like some kind of duck committee meeting.
I really love chicken cutlets and that one is one very rich!! I make them often but with only egg and breadcrumbs, sometimes I fry them and sometime i put them in the oven delicious both!! 😋 Bye from Italy 😉
Was originally pork, but Muslim owned takeaways started making it with chicken instead. They're both nice but made with pork escalope is much more tasty in my opinion. By the way born and bred in the Boro there was no need for the insults at the beginning, this town like most these days has its run down areas but you're definitely not in danger we're all friendly up here .
Hello my friend, your description of the chicken Parmo was perfect especially for those who have never tried this! It can be very filling & you still got a decent size portion for a small!! I agree with you on coach journeys being tiring, pleased you enjoyed your meal! Excellent video, it was lovely to see you too,Take care 💜💜XX
As a Smithy, i agree, teesside IS the home of the parmo. Im actually from the area and what we lack as a holiday destination we definitely make up for in good food lol
one component you are missing is the garlic sauce(dip) bit of chip, parmo and and garlic dip on the fork :) also you always get the same reaction when someone has a parmo for the first time. glad you found a decent one though, there are plenty of bad ones out there.
Hello, an U.S. visitor checks in here... The way the made you the back-side-visits to the special places and it all works out, that's pretty awesome! You are a one dedicated of any venue place!!!! Cheers to you and I pray to get these, to you and from you back, to us!!!
So here's the history lesson, the original parmo was veal then pork,, it was served in the Europa restaurant which was not far from the bus station by an ex American military chef who settled in Middlesbrough, served traditionally with creamed cabbage, which like the pork parmesan is hard to find. Which i think it is far superior to chicken. In the mid 80,s parmos were only found in certain restaurants. As for you dissing Middlesbrough, Leeds has as many ropey areas, one last one i think if you chose Fellini's it is my favourite. One fun fact i believe they do 2k parmos over a long weekend.
I'm glad, you've finally found something delicious to eat after the disappointments the last few times. 👍😊 It looked fabulous, but the tiny portion of salad looked a bit lost compared to the parmo! 🤣
Come to the Isle of Man and meet a long term follower, we have chips cheese and gravy, queenies (mini scallops) and kippers (smoked fish) as local delicacies. Ferries from Liverpool or Heysham, flights Liverpool or Manchester. Might be tough in a day but not impossible. ❤
Great vlog as always from you. Just a idea for you, At the end of the month it's the famous Nottingham goose fair which is one of largest in uk. This fair is famous for its mushy peas with mint sauce and vinegar. You will find hundreds of stalls here selling mushy peas however there is a food market at the fair site with large choice food. Here you will also find a number of mushy pea stalls selling properly oven cooked peas. You can get to the fairground very easy from Nottingham Station via the trams which stop at goose fair. I think this would make a great fun video for you.
I've never heard of a Parmo, it looked delicious😋 I've never been to Middlesborough either so I may take a trip there myself to get a Parmo and see the sights.👍
There aren't any sights in Mbro, sadly. There are nice places around, but the town centre used to be just shops and offices, but 90% of the shops have closed down. OK, there's a modern art gallery which might keep you entertained for 30 mins....If you are going up that way, probably better to stay on the train and go on to Redcar, or Saltburn. Both are coastal resorts (Saltburn is a real unknown gem) and parmos will be available in both places!

Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough is the birthplace of the dish. In reality it was America where the Parmo was born in the 1930s. The godfather of the Teesside Parmo was Nico Harris, a chef with the American army in the Second World War. He was wounded of the coast of france and brought to the uk where he was treated in james cook hospital in Middlesbrough.
