It has been fun watching you over many years (under my various TH-cam channels) going from the stickers and deco-tape and everything being pink & turquoise to being like “yeah put the stickers away and let’s get some stuff done”
X I have tried so many kinds, and I always thought it was bc I'm in the process of getting diagnosed with ADHD and therefore "can't focus" no matter how may times I write things down in different strategic methods: color coding, bullet journaling, productive stickers, etc. The way you described how writing the entire list of To Dos down and checking off the easy stuff gives us that hit of dopamine explains A LOT.
I used to use only a planner and it made me very productive. The problem for me now is with so much input from so many places and so many formats & apps required to get things done everything takes longer (ironic) and is a big mess to organize.
Almost all planners today are for decoration & money pit for buying the stickers to decorate with. It's almost like it's a contest to see who has the prettiest planner. Mine is basically a place to record memories of what I did that year.
I know from previous experience that I work more productively and feel motivated when I use hourly planners no to-do list or anything, just hours, and I fill them with my daily routine.
I get more done when I just "DO" what needs done Today... Planning a Strategy or a System Falls apart 3 days later when I am motivated to Organize the basement on Wednesday instead of vacuum upstairs. I feel like I failed... But BY just going to work everyday I accomplish sooo much...and if I get sidetracked I just count the minutiae That I "DID DO" ...as Accomplishnent!!!
this is what I had to do. I have some health issues now so I am creating planner pages for that. The top 3 tasks are so important for me. Because It forces me to do the top tasks that need to get done so I can't work on other things until I get those done. No skipping to the easy tasks and never working on the stuff I really care about.
Come on, what about starting about a positive. I have used planners successfully for years. I just finished my thesis thanks to a planner to keep my head on straight.

X I use a wall calendar for the monthly overview. I have lists of things to do organized by category.
I need to prioritize them better.

Used FC for 25 years! Then spent so much money on HP last year with all the things! I did discover and fell in love with discbound.
