I am someone who has a problem with long-term planning. How do you decide what to do each month? I don't have a lot of deadlines as a home manager (housewife). Kathy B I organize more by week than month. It feels more manageable to me.
So, this method I am showing is for people who have goals and objectives for the year to manage. So if it doesn’t apply to you, it’s absolutely okay! I decide what to plan each month based off my yearly goals and objectives as I shared in the video.
My strategy to keep my calendar from being crazy full is to limit what I can schedule and how many tasks I can do on any given day. I find I am much happier when I set limits of what I can and can't complete.
What is your limit, is it based on number of tasks or how much time they take to complete. Do you map those tasks on a daily basis or is this something you do for a month at a time?
I have a daily limit of usually 2 appts, and I try to even them out so I am not doing doing personal and work appts with no break. I am a piano teacher /stay at home mom and so even housework gets limited to 2-3 tasks per day. I have to allow down time, time for my kids and taking care of my puppy, plus I am still improving my own skills, it could be quite crazy if I didn't schedule each day. Habits aren't counted in that so that takes time away as well.
If the task is going to take less than 5 minutes I try to do it right away. The more involved the task, the more likely I schedule it for a day that is less busy.
I keep a montly list for appts and keep a tracker for regular tasks but on a bigger scale. I reference the monthly to work out what is getting done on the next day. If there are already appts, I push not necessary tasks to the following day. If something is time sensitive it goes to the top of the list so that it can just be done and not be a worry.
HI! Great video! Maybe you cover this somewhere else, but I'm wondering about the objectives overview for the year. Is there a list of goals somewhere that you then created those objectives from? Why do you list objectives on the monthly and not the goals? Thanks!
Yes, as part of my goal setting process before the start of the year, I set my goals and turn them into specific objectives with how I plan to reach them. My goals sheet lists my goals and I keep a separate list of all the objectives or projects I will need to complete to reach the goal. If you want to learn my strategic goal setting process you should purchase my You Got This ebook- it’s a goal setting workbook and guide to my entire process. I also do an annual goal setting class in my master mind membership if you’d like to join you can watch the replay there!
OK of course I watched this as soon as I woke up this morning. But now, I’m going to have to watch it again after I have some coffee because there is some amazing content in here that I need to write down! Miss Trenchcoat for the win as always ❤️❤️

I think it’s about doing what works for you, if weekly is more manageable you can just tailor your plans to your needs or goals of that week
