  • Navigating Disney without being able to walk can be a challenge. However, everything is still accessible in some way or another! Here's my point of view on riding rides in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

    So wonderful to see how accessible and efficient they make all of this at Walt Disney. So jealous you got to go!!! Glad y’all had a great time and that you were able to make this video! Truly inspiring. Love you, Emma.

    I'm new to wheelchairs - had a stroke that paralyzed my right side and a little of my left - good to see you can get around.

    We are planning to go to Disney in a couple of years and I might need a wheelchair permanently and this calms me down about going there with one, I'm also really happy seeing someone enjoy disney! It looks so fun!!

    A fantastic video! I'm a 62 year old and have been T6 complete paraplegic for 44 years. I have made many of those transfers over the years visiting WDW. Like you said The Runaway Railroad was my hardest transfer. I had try it once but I'm getting a bit old for those uphill transfers like that. But I did it! I also did Rise of the Resistance and loved it. The transfer was nice and easy so I'm sure I'll be back there in the future. Thanks for filming and posting this.

    Thank you for your video! It has helped us on what my kids can ride easily. Both of our kids are in wheelchairs and we have been to Disney lots of times when they were younger and we would just pick them up and transfer even tho sometimes it could be difficult to maneuver- like trying to go from Pirates of Caribbean boat back up to ground level to get into wheelchair. So we were trying to figure out which rides we can now ride easily now that they are adults and we are older! We can still help tranfer from seat to seat but not anything where gravity will hinder getting back up. Like the Mickey's and Minnie's runaway railroad. But i didn't know they had tranfer device that they can tranfer to ride. So thank you for that info too. So glad you had a great experience at Disney and hoping we will too! Have a magical day! Dawn

    Emma, such wisdom having the forethought to make these videos while you were @ Disney! This will help so many for years to come! You would make a fantastic ambassador for Disney - I’m not sure if such a program exists but it should! (Hint hint @ Disney😉)

    I took my mom years ago and it was probably the best time she ever had at WDW. I pushed her all over the parks and even my family was happier ( I'm too fast walking ) they get wore out. I'm glad to see you had such a great time.

    Thank you for this. As an able bodied person I am very glad that they can accommodate you in this way. We are all humans and should be able to access the world together! P.S just randomly came across this video.

    Best look at how to get on rides.
    I’ve watched others and they don’t show off ride POV.
    It always seems to be view from the chair.
    Nicely 👍 done
    Good luck 🍀 at TCU

    I just by TH-cam suggestion found this channel and video and I've never seen a channel from a disabled person before and I think it's pretty cool because I myself am disabled I was born with something called Spina Bifida which is basically where I am like you I cannot move my legs at all I'm totally paralyzed from the waist down and I've been this way for almost 30 years and I've always wanted to go to Disney World but wasn't quite sure if there was any way to ride the rides if I ever got the chance to go there thank you for posting the video and for sharing your journey

    Thanks for doing this video! I do not use a wheelchair but I've always been curious how the accessibility works behind-the-scenes. I do use a scooter all the time, not just at the parks. I'm hoping to do a video on scooter use and accessibility when I visit in January.

    Hi Emma, do you get annoyed when people just grab your chair and push you?

    • @emmafitzgearld2672
      @emmafitzgearld2672  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! All depends on who is doing the pushing. But typically, yes it can get annoying because I like being independent and pushing myself. But if it’s in a playful manner with someone I’m close with, I don’t mind
