Ok. This is so next level. It’s like a master class in Kydex crafting and experimenting. The knife itself is so well thought out. Home outdoors and in the kitchen. Fine work here young man AND I can get a leather sheath. Excellent video in every way.

Saw this on your Instagram and loved the placement immediately. Good job placing it in line with the handle. I think thats the perfect placement as well. Super cool and I love those brass eyelets!

Randomly stumbled into your channel today. First, that is a sweet looking knife, looks like it would be great for cleaning game/fish and tailgate kitchen use! Using a 3d printer for blocking is something I would love to explore, great insight! I don't know if you have figured a press out but I use two that I made with a simple 2x6 lumber frame and an RV jack.... it allows you to apply pressure with one hand almost instantly keeping the kydex from cooling down for best definition. I use a cheap T-shirt press for heat.
If you ever want an even more smoothed edge, after you sand with paper you can use a scotchbrite pad as a finisher, it will be almost as smooth as a buffing wheel when wet sanded, the grey ones are pretty slick.

really cool video dude! very interesting on your thought process and innovation of mounting the clip w/o scratching the blade. I placed an order for a knife last week, cant wait to get it. I have heard nothing but good things about your products and designs!

I've been putting two of those loops on my sheaths, one on either side of the handle...like some holsters.

Hey TJ, if you want to push the fit and finish a little. Get a 0,1inch leather edge beveler and run the edges with it. Will give the product a more precise finish.

Perhaps you could consider a hex nut shape for the inside dimples. Then you could just screw into the nuts.

I dig your design approach, TJ. Quick question… I’ve had trouble with grit from the grinder belts getting stuck inside the sheath. It scratches the knife every time it goes in and out. Have you ever had that problem? I need to up my Kydex game and get one of those resin printers like yours too. Thanks again for sharing your processes on YT. I’m definitely going to stay tuned.

Maybe some input for improvement, tell me what you think.
    1. Instead of using big open rivets, use smaller rivets and place them closed to the blade, this way you can decrease the size of the sheath
    2. Instead of screwing the clip at an offset like that use a 4x retention system where you use 4 of the rivet heads to attach the clip. You can 3D print the clip or mock ups of it, this way changing the clip is easier and you can try out more designs faster

I wonder if it would be feasible to print the kydex part? Obviously it wouldn't be kydex, but maybe a carbon fiber or fiberglass infused media?

Awesome video! Couple questions. Is there a specific filament or resin your using with the printers? Also have you considered just trying to print the holster altogether?

Really late to the party, but I used to use a set of sex bolts to put the two halves together to cut and sand everything super even and perfect as if it's eyeleted already. then you can take it apart the finish and clean out the sheeth. then I eyelet everything. I have commitment issues
