i got this game a while ago. i wanted to play it but it looked quite intimidating to begin. after seeing your videos i might go back and try to play it myself
It's not too bad, expect to make a lot of mistakes and learn from them. It's great fun though :-)
the nice part is your dupes are actually pretty tough! as long as they have food and oxygen and they'll survive.
Failure is a big part of the game loop. You try, you fail, you learn, you try again, repeat. I killed 3 colonies before i got a hang of the game.😅
I am liking this gameplay a lot more than the CS2 stuff. Keep it up!

I put out a community post last week detailing that even though I've diversified that overrall my channels views are the same as the start of the year, so all good :-)

I believe critters can get through all doors except the Pneumatic Door (the mesh looking one). They won't open them by themselves but can slip through when a dupe opens them. That at least was the case still a couple years ago, when I still played ONI on the regular (and I've played it since the Alpha).
Seeing you play it makes me itch to get a new asteroid going, too. I don't have time atm, but it is such a good game!!!
For food on the Swampy Asteroid - Not sure if you noticed, but the Swamp Chard's just need harvesting; they don't grow. They're sort of equivalent to the Muckroot that you can dig up in the starter biome. Also the Bog-buckets need polluted water for irrigation - currently you're getting this from the polluted water that your dupes mopped, but you may want a proper solution soon. That being said... You're going to need food quick-ish.

I think you get a bonus for your meeps working in light. A good place for one is above your research area and in your dinning hall

I just got the luckiest base spawn I have a water geyser, natural gas and an anti entropy nulifier.... the thing that gets cold with hydrogen gas all within 100 blocks of my teleporter. I never had such a set up.

Hatches like to hide in dirt during the day and come out at night. I think they will be happier and produce more coal if you give them some dirt to hide in!
for me there is too much information in the game, I passed 20 hours and was just tired..
