I went and read "the comment". Yes, youtube ads interrupt videos and are frustrating. I hope that is what the comment was referring to. If they are referring to your finishing, long arm, etsy , etc then they are the problem NOT YOU! I made a purchase from your etsy because it was beautiful and I used it to display a photo. I respect that you are running a business and working towards goals for you and you husband and family. You are a dynamic, creative and loving person. I hope you can work through these feelings and find peace about this commenter.
hi belle! i just wanted to say about the ads...if this person has a problem with watching ads then they can get the youtube premium service where there are no ads. it's actually not that expensive. it is worth it for me as ads, and commercials on tv, break the flow of things and makes me restless! lol but they have other choices so complaining about something they themselves can fix is not appropriate! but the ads bring in revenue for the channel and if all the supporters could make sure they are watching all the ads in full, it's one of the best supports you can do for the channel. this is not a big channel but it could be considered a high preforming channel if they have all their subscribers watching the ads in full. high performing channels are considered more popular in the algorithm and so will put the videos in front of a bigger audience. and a fun fact... negative comments and thumbs downs are considered activity on the video. equally as important as positive comments and thumbs up. the algorithm doesn't differentiate between positive and negative. so in the ignorance (if i can use that word) of the negative commenter, they are actually helping the channel they are complaining about. interesting, right? another fun fact... i just learned that emojis used in comments have more 'value' then letters. hard to explain but how i understand it is that when you use emojis in your comments it rates higher in the activity algorithm. i really don't understand why that is but if it is true then a few extra hearts or happy faces are a good idea! lol
There will always be people who are thoughtless, unkind or mean. Don’t let them change who you are. Thank you for all that you share and give so generously.
Oh Arttie, my heart hurts for you. What a sad world we live in that someone can hide behind a keyboard and be so ugly. I admire all of the flosstubers that put themselves out there, especially the ones that have businesses. I have an Etsy shop and am nervous every time I post an update on instagram. I feel like giving up quite often, so many makers don’t give themselves enough credit for the beautiful things they make. Your time and efforts are worthy and we as women should be lifting each other up, not tearing them down. I hope you find it in yourself to stand up the the critics and be stronger for it. ❤

You are absolutely right about the rejection issue. As a fellow flosstuber, I get concerned about that also. For some of us, it is really hard to put ourselves out there. When I first started, I wouldn't even show my face on my videos. I am so sorry that you had to go through that horrible week. I left a comment for someone yesterday to please hold the products closer to the screen, because I couldn't see them. Even then, I was worrying about hurting her, and tried to say it as gently as possible. Your videos are always happy and encouraging.

Sorry to hear about the rude comment, it is a very hurtful thing and many Flosstubers have had that hurt at some time or another 😣. I’m so glad you were there to support your son, one of the hardest things we have to do is say goodbye to our beloved pets ❤. I’ve sure needed that shoulder to lean on more than once.

I totally agree with viewers who say “be nice, or don’t talk”. I know how easy one thing, comment, action of someone else it is also easy to spiral. I also suffer from depression. It doesn’t take much to spiral. People need to understand how what you say may trigger someone. I agree with the people who did respond positively. Sorry this happened to you. I watched your pillow finishing tutorial the first time I made a pillow using my cross stitch. I think I may have even sent you an email about it. I make all kinds of pillows now because of your tutorial showing me that I could do it. I appreciate all the time you put into your flosstubes and tutorials. This breaks my heart because I would have felt the same way. I’ve seen Flosstube channels that I didn’t like and I just don’t go back. Easier said than done, but please don’t stop because of people like that.
Unfortunately, too many people forget there is a real person on the other side of the screen. All I can suggest is try to remember that when people leave comments like that, it says more about them than it does about you. I've worked in the craft industry for over 20 years...please don't ever feel you have to apologize for promoting your work or wanting to get paid for it! Creator work has value! I totally relate to the mental health issues and seasonal as well...we moved from Michigan to Florida to try to alleviate it. It helped but certainly wasn't a cure. ((hugs))

Artie I’m so sorry you had to go through all this. I have felt this way if one person says something bad about me but 20 people say something good I only remember the bad one. Like you said they don’t have to watch your videos if they are negative. I love watching all your videos so you just take your time getting back to us cause we will all be here waiting for you.
I totally understand where you are coming from!!! I used to teach quilting classes…mother/daughter classes (to encourage the next generation to sew)…mystery quilt classes, beginning classes, even some cross stitch…BUT the negative junk overtook the positive. Many thought it should be a ministry (free). As a single mom of 7, I wasn’t sure how to keep my lights on if everything was free! My children are now grown, about to have the 16th grandchild…. I no longer teach anything, I don’t long arm quilt for anyone either! I do miss it. I miss seeing someone else catch the quilting or stitching bug. Hang in there! ❤. I’ve even thought of starting a floss tube…..hmmm…maybe ….

I wonder if the same is true of the folks who liked the comment? We never know what someone else is dealing with on any given day, but it doesn't cost a thing to be kind to others. Artie, I’m sending you MUCH LOVE TODAY - unbelievably I was just reminiscing about parting with beloved pets just before I watched your video. I laid on the couch for a week after getting my children to school and making suppers etc, in the most brave way I could, when I said goodbye to a very dear family dog we had. I was broken too as you all feel. Some people miss out on true living with their cruel disrespectful behaviours and WORDS! I’m so sorry that this has happened to you. I remember when one of the Floss Bossin Cousins came on unexpectedly with something similar. Until one has walked in your shoes, don’t judge or comment. It’s beyond me why they don’t just go onto someone else to watch. Perhaps they have to be ugly to make themselves feel better. See you in two weeks and take care of yourself.
People find it so easy to say something negative these days and hide behind they are not saying it to your face. Still hurts and is just wrong. Move along and take your negativity with you. You are absolutely right about the rejection issue. As a fellow flosstuber, I get concerned about that also. For some of us, it is really hard to put ourselves out there. When I first started, I wouldn't even show my face on my videos. I am so sorry that you had to go through that horrible week. I left a comment for someone yesterday to please hold the products closer to the screen, because I couldn't see them. Even then, I was worrying about hurting her, and tried to say it as gently as possible. Your videos are always happy and encouraging.

Sorry to hear about the rude comment, it is a very hurtful thing and many Flosstubers have had that hurt at some time or another 😣. I’m so glad you were there to support your son, one of the hardest things we have to do is say goodbye to our beloved pets ❤. I’ve sure needed that shoulder to lean on more than once.

I totally agree with viewers who say “be nice, or don’t talk”. I know how easy one thing, comment, action of someone else it is also easy to spiral. I also suffer from depression. It doesn’t take much to spiral. People need to understand how what you say may trigger someone. I agree with the people who did respond positively. This is a business and you need to promote yourself. Please don’t stop. If you do then “those” people win. Find your tribe. We are here for you. Hugs. Please call or text if you need to talk. I am so sorry to hear this. I had someone come at me recently because I had to redraw for a giveaway she had won but didn’t reach out for 6 weeks after. As wonderful as the internet is for connecting, sometimes people forget that there is a person with feelings on the other side…

Sorry this happened to you. I watched your pillow finishing tutorial the first time I made a pillow using my cross stitch. I think I may have even sent you an email about it. I make all kinds of pillows now because of your tutorial showing me that I could do it. I appreciate all the time you put into your flosstubes and tutorials. I will never forget what a Pastor at our Church once said “Hurt People Hurt Others”, or an old saying “Misery loves Company”, either way it cuts deep into our souls and then add winter depression it’s no wonder you got sick and still had to have that in your mind. This breaks my heart because I would have felt the same way. I’ve seen Flosstube channels that I didn’t like and I just don’t go back. Easier said than done, but please don’t stop because of people like that.
Unfortunately, too many people forget there is a real person on the other side of the screen. All I can suggest is try to remember that when people leave comments like that, it says more about them than it does about you. I've worked in the craft industry for over 20 years...please don't ever feel you have to apologize for promoting your work or wanting to get paid for it! Creator work has value! I totally relate to the mental health issues and seasonal as well...we moved from Michigan to Florida to try to alleviate it. It helped but certainly wasn't a cure. ((hugs))

My mother suffered with depression and it always breaks my heart when I hear of someone going through the same things she did. Artie I’m so sorry you had to go through all this. I have felt this way if one person says something bad about me but 20 people say something good I only remember the bad one. Like you said they don’t have to watch your videos if they are negative. I love watching all your videos so you just take your time getting back to us cause we will all be here waiting for you.
I totally understand where you are coming from!!! I used to teach quilting classes…mother/daughter classes (to encourage the next generation to sew)…mystery quilt classes, beginning classes, even some cross stitch…BUT the negative junk overtook the positive. Many thought it should be a ministry (free). As a single mom of 7, I wasn’t sure how to keep my lights on if everything was free! My children are now grown, about to have the 16th grandchild…. I no longer teach anything, I don’t long arm quilt for anyone either! I do miss it. I miss seeing someone else catch the quilting or stitching bug. Hang in there! ❤. I’ve even thought of starting a floss tube…..hmmm…maybe ….

I wonder if the same is true of the folks who liked the comment? We never know what someone else is dealing with on any given day, but it doesn't cost a thing to be kind to others. I appreciate the time you take to make your videos and the way you inspire us to try new things. The decision to euthanize a pet is a hard thing to do. I, too, deal with seasonal affective disorder during the dark months of winter. And then there are trolls. May God grant you healing in body, mind, and spirit in the days ahead. Artie, I’m sending you MUCH LOVE TODAY - unbelievably I was just reminiscing about parting with beloved pets just before I watched your video. I laid on the couch for a week after getting my children to school and making suppers etc, in the most brave way I could, when I said goodbye to a very dear family dog we had. I was broken too as you all feel. Some people miss out on true living with their cruel disrespectful behaviours and WORDS!
