Exactly. A child has a right and a NEED for their mother. Of course in some situations that mother is unable to care for the child, but if it’s just that you’re selling your baby to a gay couple, then no, that’s just not it.
It's unbelievable to me that adoption has so many (necessary) requirements, but literally anyone with money can buy a surrogate newborn. No questions asked. Single old men are buying babies! It's horrible

Just before the COVID lock downs started, I had been through the entire screening process for providing emergency and respite foster care for the local Department of Family Welfare. Well, not quite as it turned out: I was declined on the basis that I told them that I disapproved of traumatised pubescent girls (and boys) being put on GnRH agonists and/or cross sex hormones and having their healthy breasts amputated. I was then the bad guy, apparently.

My son works for the NHS and says I’m not living my best life, I am retired, because I send him texts about the trans issue. My voice apparently isn’t going to change anything. He is the father of a daughter and doesn’t think it’s a problem that if he went to work and said: “Only 2 sexes, men and women,” he would be disciplined or even lose his job! I’m so sorry to hear this. I am of a different generation to you but have experienced the same sort of ‘why do you care?’ narrative from my family members. For example, my dad says why am I spending so much time on this when it doesn’t affect me - but of course it affects me! It affects everyone! Especially women and children. And because I also care deeply about the harm being done to those women and children. Don’t give up talking to your sons on this one, for the sake of his daughter especially. You are right to be concerned and your voice matters. I highly recommend the films ‘Behind the Looking Glass’ and ‘Dysphoric’ on Lime Soda Films TH-cam channel - they are incredibly eye opening and I’m sending them to anyone I feel able to do so.

I have the same feeling here in New Zealand. My son's girlfriend from the USA is going through ridiculous amounts of stress and red tape to try and prove their relationship in order for her to get a work visa. I'm pro choice but I'll be honest I'm not pro choice to the extent some of the American democrats are wanting. Anyway, despite being pro choice I'm against surrogacy. This is not right for women or children. This will lead to the commodification of women and children. Also I'm gay and surrogacy is being pushed in particular by gay men. I'm sorry but you're gay so you can't have biological children so accept this reality. Women and children's human rights must come first not the wants of gay men. The latter can adopt and give a child in need a loving home.

I totally agree about falsifying birth certificates. Maybe a woman who carried a baby and gives birth is technically a Mother and maybe a man that had sex once is technically a Father but a Mum or a Dad is the one that sits up at 2am with the child vomiting, turns up to every screeching recorder concert and butters the sandwiches day in day out. It's very sad and unfair that many good people can't be parents but we are animals and nature is cruel. Its horrendously unfair that some people can't while some can have baby after baby they neglect. But that doesn't mean we should lie about it so we feel better. I think people will deliberately misunderstand this to take it as a slight against adoptive and foster parents but the point is that birth certificates should belong to the child and tell them who their life givers are. Then maybe there can be a special certificate that reflects who cares for that child.

Agree with you about the surrogacy issue.. infact I extend that to IVF too. How is it beneficial to humanity to ignore clear biological selection and perpetuate the continuation of genes that lead to further infertility. Mother nature is called such for a reason. The outcome may very well be that infertility rises amongst the affluent who can afford these treatments.. so we can expect more exploitation of poor women off the back of this in the long run. Not to mention the clear issue of IVF causing cancer with a significant number of middle aged women who put career before family.
Being 'kind' is the fashion now which is and always has been a basic human instinct and one to be proud of. However, it has now been weaponised by those with nafarious intentions. Being kind used to come with it's own built in protection that limited its meaning in instances where the term could be abused and by that I refer to the age old addage 'sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind' and without this limiting factor we now find ourselves in the unenviable position where we have to be accepting of literally anything because not to do so means that we are being unkind and which is why Kellie you will always find yourself on the wrong side of the argument because in the eyes of those that know no limits to kindness you are being seen as unkind.
What you need to do is to convince those that have forgotten that there are limits to kindness and that being unkind is often the best remedy for what we are witnessing today. People in the western world are being brainwashed by these ideologies and big businesses are complicit for all sorts of reasons which is why it is such a struggle. We need to win back the meaning of being kind so that people understand that the term was never intended to be used as cover for those with malicious intentions.

What happens to that material?
“That material” - tiny humans - is discarded or frozen for years. IVF is an insidious industry. Humans are created and put on ice for future IVF attempts, then left in vats when people decide they don’t want to birth any more of their children.
IVF destroys humans on a daily basis - whether it be because some embryos are discarded for “better quality” ones, or whether it be because parents don’t want then ones there created anymore. IVF is a runaway train, and the pro-life movement sees IVF as no better than abortion.

Ummmmed and ahhhhhed over putting a comment down on this one. This is a very complex issue, for me. I had not thought too deeply about surrogacy and we will need time to process your comments and opinions on this aspect, but having been a foster carer and supported children through to their adoption I do not believe adoptive parents are 2nd best. Unless you are able to wave a wand and make their biological parents (a mother, a father) amazing or as uk social services state "good enough" which really isn't in most cases adoptive parents are the best for the children they adopt. Anyone and I mean anyone can create a baby but it doesn't mean they have what it takes to be a mother and father and nurture a wonderful human being through to adulthood to be a celebrated member of society. This takes every skill set possible and some just don't have it. I follow your views on He's that want to be She's/She's that want to be He's and everything that goes along with that. This vlog I found interesting because it made me think. I have to be on the side of any baby/child and their safety and well being. It is not black and white and people who are infertile and those who think there are enough unwanted children in the world and choose to adopt maybe should not be judged too harshly. From my point of view it is possible to earn the right to be called a 'mother' or 'father' by act of loving and nurturing parenting rather than pure biological creation.

Just wanted to add transparency about a childs origin is paramount and I believe in the UK for adopted children it is mandatory.
Should egg-babies be considered adopted? How many people should be on the birth certificate, the womb mum, the egg mum, the sperm dad and the doctor dad? Good foster/adoptive parents are much needed, as is a higher value placed on parenting.
@@H-youtube7 My overall feeling about certification goes along the transparency line. Those who biologically make the baby (whose genes the baby has) should be on the certificate. When you adopt you get a wonderful certificate where the adoptive parents have sole guardianship and full parental rights. Biological parents have no offical contact rights until the child is of age to find them if they so desire.
I don't know if you know but adoption is rare in the UK and Australia. Parents get years of chances and the kids have supervised visitation which harms them. Just barely good enough will be good enough for reunification till the kid bounces back into the system after a few more months or years of neglect or abuse. It's so aggravating. It makes it hard to find foster parents because they know the chance of reunification is high and they could have a kid for years without having parental decision making power. Might be a Child Safety Officer that is the decision maker and that person might change regularly, not even know the kid. It's maddening. The bar is so low for intervention and the parents always have more rights that the kids. Except for the right to know your kid is asking for different pronouns at school. 🙄
@@AleeBay In the 10 years we have been fostering we have had just 2 go on for adoption. The remaining children went on to long term foster where as you described contact/visitation rights had to be adhered to and all that goes with it. This is a whole different complex topic to get into. The point I was trying to make in response to Kellie-Jay was 'a mother' 'a father' are just words/language and I do not believe that foster carers/adoptive parents/guardians are necessarily 2nd best to the people who biologically, with their genetics make the child. I think it is important to clearly certify on the birth certificate who made the child regardless of who goes on to parent them as they grow. Thus some one can earn the right to be called 'a mother' 'a father' unless society wants to invent new titles for them. This is very different from the trans issue as I do not believe a man can be a woman nor a woman be a man. And should not be allowed to change their birth certificates!

Your opinion on surrogacy being a cruel industry is sound, your thinking sounds are not. Courageous & just in the face of mainstream opinion that surrogacy is wholesome but 11 x urr & um within the first minute is off putting. switched off after 10 minutes of um/arr/erm after every few words/sentences, been happening for a while now.
