It is mind boggling that a country so unprepared for a war on two fronts could so quickly establish their priorities, convert their factories over to war production, train their men in so many specialties and send them where they were most needed. The logistics to accomplish all this in such a short space of time is a miracle. I doubt if the likes of this could ever happen again.

When the Allies crossed the Rhine into Germany, there were 8 Armies fighting on the Western Front in the ETO.
5 American, 1 French, 1 Canadian, and 1 British, (plus 1 Airborne Army consisting of 4 US Divisions, and 2 British, along with several Brigades of French.)
After taking Munich, and Nurnberg, and advancing far into Austria and Czechoslovakia, the American 6 Army joined up with the American 5th Army coming out of Italy. Making the final tally of Allied Armies 10.
    1 Airborne, 6 American, 1 French, 1 Canadian, and 1 British.
The Canadian and British Armies included a mixed bag of Polish, Belgium, and other Nation's Divisions, and Corps.

That @1:19:30, is Monty trying to grab the Limelight by perpetuating a German surrender to him without any Authorization, and no other Allied leadership participation.
He was butt hurt because Eisenhower had taken away the US 9th Army, and ordered him to stand down at the Elbe. Focusing all Ally advances to the South to destroy the hardcore Nazi military units before they could muster a defense in the mountains of SE Germany and the Alps, and to capture as much of Germany as he could for the West before the official surrender of German forces.
If you ever look at a map of Cold War Germany you can see how much bigger West Germany is/was than E Germany. That is because of Eisenhower's shift in concentration to the more aggressive southern Armies who were driving forward at a pace of more than 45 miles a day.
