    This is starting to feel like a dicey offseason. We just completed a $250 million dollar football facility. Time to go get some serious coordinators.

    Kittley was good. I think if he had more depth and development with a solid O-Line he would have been able to call more aggressively. Best of luck to him, hope he can turn that program around.

    McGuire was part of the group to hire McCasland. He did well with his first two coordinators. Hiring might be one of his best skills. The next month will be interesting. Wreck'em!

    I was thinking on the way home from work on these two changes. when I am leading people, I am always thinking about who I would go get if I lost someone on my team…who can I call to hire.
    No way Joey was blindsided on either of these things. Anyone with a shred of leadership is constantly thinking about this type stuff and building connections and building teams. He knows who he wants for both.
    The fact that in 3 years Joey has not lost a lot of people means he is a good boss and people want to work for him. Huge deal.
    Scary timing but we will be fine as long as Joey is here. Need to get the hires done quickly though.

    Well, things will be different next year… lol
    I think I’m gonna start thinking about cfb more like I think about basketball. Huge roster turnover and changes from year to year. I’ll just show up and hope for the best, but not gonna angst over the entire offseason.

    Really not sure how to feel. I guess by end of day Monday will be about the time that we have some idea of what we will have moving forward… I hope we can hire some coordinators before then.

    Joey sees this as an opportunity and I'm excited to see who he brings on.
    I have no doubt that Joey, because of who he is as well as ongoing pressures from above, but I guarantee Joey already has a dynamic list of candidates and qualities that he looks for in every single coordinator role.
    Joey came into his initial set up intentionally and he will do it again. He has an identity that includes a culture as well as how the game is played.
    I think he will see this as an opportunity to grow and adjust.

    So much for any consistency into 2025. Curious what type of team we put on field. A “run the damn ball” team with emphasis on defense.

    Maybe someone with some NFL experience. Some games every play seemed like a screen pass and others he ran the ball ad nauseam like against CO. Overall a decent OC was he but better ones out there imo.

    I wonder if McGuire knew about Kittley before releasing Deruyter.

  • @EhSteve989
    @EhSteve989 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I think both opinions of Kittley hold validity.
    Scheme wise, his playbook is great and he can coach up QBs. He put up points.
    He also made multiple questionable real-time game play calls and put in personnel packages that could have or did cost us games.
    He’s overall a good coach though. I think he’ll end up doing well.

  • @kayakyakyakr

    Air raid tree is pretty amazing. We're in the 3rd or even 4th generation of dudes from that tree now taking OC roles. Kingsbury was only in college football for 7 or 8 years and has now 3+ head coaches that coached under him. Dana has disciples. Emo can even count Doege as a disciple, no?
    If you're dropping cash, I think it's Eric Morris. You can probably pull him for 1.6m. that's big boy money. Balanced air raid, Kingsbury tree just like Kittley, and reasonably an upgrade. But it'll cost you double what Kittley was.

    • @nathank556
      @nathank556 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      There are other pretty amazing trees out there. We don't have to hire a Tech guy to lead the offense every time the OC spot opens up.

    How does affect McGuire since this is a basic total rebuild? Wow! Will he be in the hot seat next year if it's down from this year?

    • @zill0678
      @zill0678 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      he shouldn't be. this year for better or worse was largely a product of his coordinators. I think joey gets a fresh start because he basically except for knowing the players has to bring in two new sides of the football from the top down to start over. also his time here so far has been successful. in any case I wouldn't expect a good year next year at all but that all depends now on how the players react to this and how this effects portal guys who were wanting to come here.

      You literally said all year to fire Kittley and he got a head coaching job. Youngest head coach in CFB. Because he’s a damn good ball coach. You want to build a program where your coordinators are being hired as head coaches year in year out. (Nick saban/Bama). This program is in a better place than it’s been since 2008 and you’re constantly spreading nonsense and pessimism.

    • @sungee3333
      @sungee3333 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ i said we needed to let him go but he had daddy protection. If you have my history you will see where i compared it to kliffs tenure. Honeymoon followed by letting great assistants go. Then the next uear letting his oc ex teammate morris go magically to be the head coach at incarnate word. And then finally there were no more scapegoats they got kliiff. Wells was an expedited blueprint. And now joey is on the clock. This is how college fb works. You sacrifice staff until you deliver or they finally buy you out.

      How so? 2 pieces that needed to go are gone. Our offense has been good for years now because QB's and WR's like to come here, no matter who the OC is. We were good this season DESPITE Kittley. Heck, we would have at least 1 more win this season because of Kittley. We will be good on offense, again. Our focus needs to be on defense. This is good for Tech.
