Callie, I swallowed my tears when you were told to leave on day 89. You were mentally so strong even on day 89. I think you should post videos of your daily life. We can learn alot from you. Take part in alone again. You deserve to win 500,000. The longest was 87 days but you were out there for 89. Mentally 100 days is better than not knowing where the end is. At least to me. I just think you are superb. Lasting more than double that of mark and Joe. I will watch all your wilderness videos if you make them.

Callie well and truly got the short end of the stick with the lousy location where they put her. The makers of Alone claim that every location where they place contestants has its pros and cons, but it's very hard to see anything positive about the steep rock/cliffs and plateau with uneven surface and mostly dense bush where they placed Callie.

Yep, blame the show for her failure to recognize how dangerous frost bite can be, and her general lack of knowledge. Don't get me wrong, she had a great attitude and survived longer than most people would. Her spirit deserves applause. In the end, she lost because she lacked the knowledge that Roland had. She may be a nomad, but being a nomad in urban areas in the modern world isn't the same thing as surviving in the wilderness with limited equipment. Complaining about the location goes to show you don't understand the basic premise of the show: survival.

if you lack the strength to tear off strips from a 20x20 tarp, cut up the 20x 20 for your tarp, poncho, etc, and bring a 12x12 tarp made out of a material that you CAN tear. certainly anyone can unravel a rope hammock and use ALL of it as netting . Then you can surely use the vise grip of the Crunch multitool, and the leverage afforded y ou with a big stick and tear enough strips off of the 20x20 tarp for the bit of lashing materials that you need, or just use the fishing line, twisting or braiding it for increased strength.

Interesting. Having a nice big saw is a really good idea for making lumber into usable sizes. But then, what is the axe for? This heavy item concerns me, as for both its uses (chopping wood up and splitting wood) there are alternatives. Instead of the axe I'd choose a large Bowie style knife (like my Cold Steel Trail Master), and instead of the finicky little fixed blade I'd go for a multi-tool. [Note: If I were intending to do lots of trapping and snare work and netting etc, maybe a pliers based multitool is best (Leatherman). If I thought I could get by without pliers, I'd opt for a Victorinox Ranger Grip 79, which has a useful blade and a little saw that is excellent (but no pliers). With a bow maybe bringing in some game one would be skinning the animal and that tiny blade means a LOT of extra work. A bow as an option can only really work if one is SURE that relatively large game is to be found, or that smaller game is plentiful. Also, one needs a certain level of proficiency with the bow and arrows before the event. I doubt one will have time to "learn on the job" when you're suffering extreme hunger. A person with real skills at fishing (especially in similar conditions) is at a massive advantage. It would be almost obligatory, in my opinion. Does anyone know why there is a blanket ban on firearms?

Why would you run barbless hooks? Or need a leader? Barbless hooks are gonna lead to the fish getting away and a leader isnt necessary unless you're running braided line or trying to fish for pike exclusively.

Fun On Vancouver Island they try to stop that by dumping the bag out right before they leave and look through everything to make sure they can sneak anything in.

Corey Gray- No Grizzlies in the Arctic. Grizzles are concentrated in and near the Rocky Mountains. Depending on your Arctic location, you will find Polar Bears. Don't believe Grizzles live above the Tree Line.
Why don't these people, after seeing 6 seasons of other contestants starving, pack a box of something like Bisquik to get some high carb, high calorie food? I'm sure you could mix that with water and bake it in a frying pan.

The Arctic doesnt have trees. Unless you think latitude determines conditions. In that case why Minnesota colder than many places in Alaska.
They're in the Northwest Territories of Canada near Great Slave Lake. It's below the tree line and there are lots of trees.

It appears to be a Finnish puukko style fixed blade, maybe custom? If you dig that, check out Marttiini knives brand.
Those arrows don't look like the arrows she had when they were extracting her at the end. On the show, she had bronze colored fletchings and a couple looked like flu-flu's.

They get one free tarp. Everyone has one that I've seen so far, even though no one has it in their 10 items.
they get a tarp a first aid kit and several other items that don't count against their 10 items. like toothbrush and tooth paste and such.
They are given a list of items that they are allowed as freebies such as, certain sized tarps, certain clothes, a toothbrush, 1 photograph, ect.
Maybe Callie teaches women to do these kinds of things? I would Love to take her survival training!

The first season dude got caught trying to sneak stuff in. Only got caught because he was dumb enough to tell the other contestants. I think it happens forsure.
Fun On Vancouver Island they try to stop that by dumping the bag out right before they leave and look through everything to make sure they can sneak anything in.

How do they protect you from grizzlies? Without a magnum you are potential grizzly fodder.
Corey Gray- No Grizzlies in the Arctic. Grizzles are concentrated in and near the Rocky Mountains. Depending on your Arctic location, you will find Polar Bears. Don't believe Grizzles live above the Tree Line.
