    It's still a good song... but it's just not the same without that echo from the train station

      i like this better because its higher audio quality

      The acoustics of that train station made it feel all the more epic, like travelling back to the 1200s when this was originally written - a bit more raw, a bit more of how a person may have experienced the original performances. But both are simply wonderful.

      That moment in the train station was absolute magic; so thankful that the moment there was captured & shared. I often revisit the clip when I'm feeling overwhelmed or anxious 🙏💕

    Hark, Heaven's Maker
    what every poet asks;
    That thy mercy may come
    to me softly:
    Thus I call to thee,
    for you have created me;
    I am thy peon
    and you are my master.
    God, I call upon thee
    to heal me;
    to remember that I am fragile
    and thus need you the most.
    Oh, drive out the roots of my wrath,
    so generous and above all,
    every sorrow that has taken hold
    of my heart's fortress.
    Reach for me, o' mild one,
    when I need you the most;
    preferably every moment -
    in a world that you possess.
    Send us, son of the virgin,
    the beauty of creation
    and all aid from thee
    into my heart.

      Well done and good work. I would say the second line in the second verse is a bit off. Seems to me the translation should be "heal me" not "weep for me". It is "græðir mig", not "grætir mig" (which would mean "make me cry" anyway).

      Are going to write this filth on every Heyr himna smidur upload? It's not about the lyrics. It's the vocals that count.

    Beautiful, but it lacks the epicness of acoustics akin to a trainstation.

      I agree. This is great but I still enjoy the train station better. If only the train station video was filmed in a greater quality.

      The train station video is pure and has heart.
      This is posed and feels staged.

  • @creatorsremose

    It's now apparent how much the acoustics of the train station masked the imperfections in their delivery. Other renditions on YT yielded much better results. They should not have recorded this.

    • @radwanderer6165

      Creator's Remorse
      Take notice that this isn't the same ensemble like in the railway station.
      So you may missing some voices (the high notes f.e.) far from the acoustics of the station hall, that this small church in the video couldn't provide.

  • @solaflair
    @solaflair 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    These guys look very different to the men at the train station. This lacks the epic tenner. Plus, I think the other men are better singers. Not that these guys aren't good, they are great..... The others where better.
