  • No dip belt? No problem! Weighted dips and chins are a great option for building upper body strength, and they require minimal equipment . . . but they do require a dip belt. Instead of spending $25-50, you can make this belt cheaply, quickly, and easily.

    Amazing, thank you so much for the explanation. I was about to buy a gym belt, than figured I'd try a DIY version and I couldn't be happier. Just did a bunch of pull-ups with a 6-kg water gallon attached and it works great.

    Saw this Russian today at the local park with a contraption instead of a belt and he apparently used something similar to this. Not the easiest find, but literal gold this video, cheers!

    Muy ingenioso. Modifique un poco el largo para que llegue por debajo de mis rodillas la cuerda cuando coloco los platos. Utilizare la correa para hacer squat con landmine. Ty very much sir.

    I've just used a BJJ belt, but this arrangement with the knots is nice. I also assume your Rot's name is in reference to Milo of Croton.

    • @TestifySC
      @TestifySC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd really like to say that's what prompted his name, but I actually thought of it randomly (we were also considering Zeus), and then remembered the story after the fact. We lucked out :-)

    I've been adding weight to my dips. I didn't foresee this being a problem, but once I put 35 pounds or so on, the weight shifts my torso more upright than I would prefer for chest-focused dips. When I do bodyweight, I'm almost doing a pushup and it's a lot easier on my shoulders. The added weight also started giving me some sternum pain. I don't know if I'll be doing weighted dips much longer if I keep getting stronger. No such problem with weighted chinups.

    Simply genius. I wanted to buy one but now I'll just use a rope. The only issue is that it's not that comfortable as normal dip belt but you can put some material or something. Thanks man, I wish it won't break up with more weight like 40kg 😅

      @@ahojekk3229 when I put 45kg on that and try to do dips then back hurts. I found logn seat belt in basement and made belt out of that and i wrapped one end to rope and second end with carabiner to put weights on rope and click it to carabiner. Works perfectly even with more than 50kg

    How much weight could it hold?

    • @TestifySC
      @TestifySC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don’t know the limit, but I’ve used belts like this one in the past with over 100 lbs. Comfort becomes an issue as - at that weight - the rope starts digging into your waist. Wrapping a towel around the rope can help with that.
