Hello there, I followed your video tutorial and started a movie recap channel. I personally wrote and recorded the script and then edited the movie scene by scene to correspond with the script. But I got a copyright claim on the video though TH-cam states that it neither affects the video nor the channel. They requested that I trim the video if I wanted to avoid any monetization issues which I did only for them to trim the 9+ mins to less than 15 seconds. What should I do to remedy this, please?

Like the idea, but I'm a bit confused because I've gone through them monetization process and it's quite tough these days. I got to admit so how do you get past that? I've had difficulty getting a channel with non royalty music monetized so that's why I'm asking a question.

Great Video!But i have some Questions. I want to start to upload edits of movies(For example Spiderman edits)as TH-cam shorts and NOT normal TH-cam Videos. So do i need to take care the same in shorts like in normal videos or is it more chilled in shorts?Right now i can't even get monetized so is it ok if one clip is 10 seconds or something long in shorts or can i use 5 seconds of the clip, cut 2 seconds of the clip and then use the next 5 seconds of the scene?
Copyright rules apply equally to Shorts and regular TH-cam videos. Using clips from movies without permission, even in Shorts, could still lead to copyright strikes.
While you can't be monetized yet, it's best to establish good practices early. Using very short clips (like 5 seconds or less) and editing them creatively may fall under fair use, but this isn't guaranteed.
I'd encourage using 5-second clips with 2-second cuts between them, as you suggested. This approach:
Keeps clips brief.
Adds your own creative editing.
Transforms the original more substantially.
May have a better fair use argument.
But do be aware there's still some risk involved. Consider using only public domain or properly licensed footage to be safe.

I have several channels in this niche. Using 5 seconds of movie clips will not work for you, the video has several filters to use, as well as transforming it, such as mirror zoom. The fair use thing the copied text inside the description doesn't work either. If your video has any complaint either manually or from the TH-cam bot, your video will be reviewed by the manager of the owner company. This type of channel takes a lot of work is not simple as you expose, it takes a day to edit the video plus have a test channel. Greetings and I follow your channel for months.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't think that uploading the video as Private will show you potential copyright claims. I think TH-cam only reports videos that are Public. You can copy a video completetly and never recieve a strike if its not public to my knowledge.

There's tons of videos on this channel about different niches you can make videos in to earn money on TH-cam. You'd first have to ask yourself what your passions are, and what do you think you can talk about nonstop. Once you use that to narrow down your options, then you can consider how many views videos in those niches get and what kind of CPMs can you earn in that niche. That should leave you with maybe one or two niche options you can work with. Let me know if you have any questions.

Just find the clip that matches it? Or.... Just change the part of the script that will go according to the specific clip but make sure it all connects with the next clip and doesn't go off the topic. Also make clips less than 3 secs to be more safe
The easiest way to do it is to go to a third party site that streams the movie for free. Use a screen recording app to screen record the movie. Read the script and according to the script edit the footage to where it matches with what is being said. Yes it will take a very long time to edit the footage, but if you didn’t have the money to outsource it to someone that can do that for you, that is your only option. I’ve just started my recap channel and so far I’ve done 3 videos just like I described to you and haven’t gotten any copyright claims or content IDs. The edits have taken anywhere between 5 to 6 hours. But it’s worth it because I’ve haven’t experienced any trouble so far. My clips are usually 2 to 3 seconds and I switch them back and forth. It worked for me with my channel only being a few days old.

I would wager that its not likely that you could monetize a channel based on movie clips without providing a voiceover. In fact, TH-cam is actively cracking down on "low effort" content.

If you own the DVD you can just use VLC media player and record the section you want and it will create a mp4 file that's how I do it.

I would look at other channels in your niche to be sure. If you see them using game trailers, its fair to assume you can too.

Nice video, I'm wondering though cause I see some movie review channels and they show movie scenes with the actual movie audio for maybe a minute or two then they talk about the scene, how do they not get copyright strikes? since you say movie clips need to be 5 seconds or less

A lot of people are down for the risk though. Film Theory might be the biggest channel in the niche. People just might not apply the same level of effort though 🤷🏿♂️

Unless you mean you want to keep the original sound and dialog from the movie in your upload. You can't do that. TH-cam will copyright strike your video. I hope that helps.

The Content ID system is the unique fingerprint everything on TH-cam is given to track who the original content creator is. I hope that helps.

@@AIContentAcademy @DebtBusters247 If it was me, I'd take the video down, re-edit it, then upload it again. You could either remove that part or place a text box on that section warning people not to use it. I highly doubt that many people will see my comment. You used to be able to find TH-cam downloaders quite easily. I've had several. But TH-cam has really gone after those, so the ones that are still active are most likely malware. That being the case, I screen record any footage that I want to use. That's actually easier for me than going through all the hassle of downloading it.

So I just started my channel and I’m I uploaded a movie and of course TH-cam was like nope! Lol so I’m here trying to see what I did wrong?? I see I have to split it into clips or and my own narrative review to the video?? Which is not what I thought I had to do. I don’t want to talk about the movie but maybe I have to.

@@AIContentAcademy I have not taken any classes I just know that some of these channels are easy I just don't know software and different programs I could use to make it a reality
Some niches are indeed easier than others. But trust me when I say the movie niche isn't one of them. Its a lot of work for very little payout. My next video on the subject will talk about how much these channels make and how I suspect people are able to upload movie trailers.
Its best to get training if you're interested in making a living doing TH-cam. I know courses have certainly helped me.

Do you add keywords of the movie in the description or would that be copyright? Also, when you download the clips and have your voiceover ready how do you sync your voice to the movie/clip? Or do you just start at the beginning of the first clip and let it rip? So 15 mins means you just add the main plot/points and move onto the end after 13 mins etc? Sorry for all the questions but i am really interested in this. Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting. The keywords themselves arent copywritten. I don't think using a keyword like "Avengers" or something like that will alert the studio to your video. You would have to either hire a video editor to sync the clips to the audio for you, or you could watch the clips and create and record the audio in real time, and try to edit them later yourself. There's at least one guy offering video editing services in the comments section of this video. Yes, in a 15 min video, you're just giving a summary of the major plot points, and maybe some of the parts of the movie that you like. Hope this helps.

Remember, the idea isn't to ask yourself, "How little do I have to do to get away with X?" It should be "How do I produce valuable content?" If your content is valuable, you'll be fine. If not, you'll receive copyright strikes.
