"Optimistic idiots" Would make a great epitaph. "Here lies a fisherman, an optimistic idiot, always looking at blue lines on a map and driving off in all directions searching for fish." Love that segment, one of the "best of", monster on the Yari. Cheers, Chris
Really cool video. I think you got me sold on trying Tenkara for my Winds trip this summer! I did the solitude loop in the big horns a couple years ago. Lots of Incredible alpine lake fishing as well! Thanks for sharing your trip! Subbed for more!
I live in Western Montana and usually have better luck on these small streams with a tenkara rod and level line using a euro nymph and euro jig approach. You'd be surprised how many fish you can catch in a short amount of time. Cool vid. i'll check out more
Haha that was very on the nose! I'm obsessed w/ tenkara rod, level line, euro nymph or jig. It's about all I use! Unless they're hitting dries! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
Nothing quite like the thrill of new waters! I’m delighted you and your friend Travis had such a great adventure. And I very grateful that you shared it with us - outings such as this can really lift an old angler’s spirits. Thank you!
Very refreshing to see folks not holding fish out of the water or over handling trout for the "Glory" shots. Like how many pics do people need of themselves and fish. Every time you handle fish mortality rates go way up. Leave them in the net and take the shots, pull the fly and say goodbye.
@@FlickyFliesdon't forget some flying ants if you go up for Goldens. I was up in the Beartooths one year and the ants were getting crushed all over the surface and I had none. It was rough to see such action and not be able to capitalize.
Great stuff guys. I'm a big fan of the Big Horns. Thanks for keeping those spots a secret! And nice catches, especially the brown at the end.
They're so good! Absolutely :) Thanks for watching.

Thanks Rob! That goes with fishing well, doesn't it?! Yeah man, that big brown on the Yari was really so much fun.

Awesome! I was just doing some Winds research the other day. Really need to do a big backpack trip there soon. I'm jealous. Have fun!

Just noticed later in the video you are using a tenkara rod lol. Nice!

I love it! Always glad you're enjoying my films so much.
Such a beautiful looking state where ever you’re at.
Bighorns in WY! Indeed, love it up there. Thanks for watching.
Another masterpiece. Keep doin' your thing and you're gunna BLOW UP!
Thanks so much man, here's hoping!
Great video. I love the close release shots, fly pics, and vast environments. Love it Chris!
And the chaser! Amazing every time!
Thanks so much Adam!
Oh mannn, of course. Still one of the best moments I've ever had fishing.
Greetings from the Big Sky of Montana.! I've never fished on Indian land.
Greetings!
Great video again!
Thanks my friend!

Thanks for taking note of that. I really cringe seeing people holding fish out of water or letting them flop on the ground. Appreciate you watching!
By the way I can get those photo opportunities for most wildlife in the Bighorns
Right on!
Shhhh. The Bighorns don't exist.
Check the WY stocking reports for where to find Goldens in that area; add another species to your list.
Hah! One of my dream trips is to go fish for Goldens at some alpine lakes. I'm sure you know the ones!

Do you use any waders this time off year?
Nope, I prefer to wet wade. I do have some neoprene socks that I'll use if the water is extra chilly.
@@FlickyFliesare you wearing crocs? I can’t get a good look at your footwear.
@@CplMAC1144 Yes! I'm wearing Croc Bistros. It's gotta be the Bistros specifically, they have incredibly grip on wet rocks.
Great video and I recognized a lot of the streams you were on. I live in the Bighorns. @WhisperFlyteProductions
Thanks so much for watching! You're a lucky man.
